"I want to change the paradigm."

“I want to change the paradigm. I want to change the paradigm. We start to reward work, not just wealth. I want to change the paradigm."

A long line, that Big Lie.

Back in 1990, the Kuwaiti ambassador’s daughter testified she was a nurse who saw Iraqi troops pull babies from incubators and leave them in the cold hospital floor to die?

Excerpt...

Hill & Knowlton produced dozens of video news releases at a cost of well over half a million dollars, but it was money well spent, resulting in tens of millions of dollars worth of "free" air time. The VNRs were shown by eager TV news directors around the world who rarely (if ever) identified Kuwait's PR firm as the source of the footage and stories. TV stations and networks simply fed the carefully-crafted propaganda to unwitting viewers, who assumed they were watching "real" journalism. After the war Arthur Rowse asked Hill & Knowlton to show him some of the VNRs, but the PR company refused. Obviously the phony TV news reports had served their purpose, and it would do H&K no good to help a reporter reveal the extent of the deception. In Unreliable Sources, authors Martin Lee and Norman Solomon noted that "when a research team from the communications department of the University of Massachusetts surveyed public opinion and correlated it with knowledge of basic facts about US policy in the region, they drew some sobering conclusions: The more television people watched, the fewer facts they knew; and the less people knew in terms of basic facts, the more likely they were to back the Bush administration."78

In fact, the most emotionally moving testimony on October 10 came from a 15-year-old Kuwaiti girl, known only by her first name of Nayirah. According to the Caucus, Nayirah's full name was being kept confidential to prevent Iraqi reprisals against her family in occupied Kuwait. Sobbing, she described what she had seen with her own eyes in a hospital in Kuwait City. Her written testimony was passed out in a media kit prepared by Citizens for a Free Kuwait. "I volunteered at the al-Addan hospital," Nayirah said. "While I was there, I saw the Iraqi soldiers come into the hospital with guns, and go into the room where ... babies were in incubators. They took the babies out of the incubators, took the incubators, and left the babies on the cold floor to die."83

That’s why I say the Big Lie goes back to Nov. 22, 1963: the Players.

W Bush appointed him an ambassador.

Smirko like his Poppy were mere stooges for the real money. SCAMWAY DeVos and Big Oil Koch brothers got Weiser to lead the charge to make Michigan — where the Unions built the great American Middle Class — into a “Right to Work” state.

They knew, going in, it wouldn't work.

...Part of the enormous cost has come as a result of an effort to share aircraft design and replacement parts across different branches of the military. In 2013, a study by the RAND Corporation found that it would have been cheaper if the Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy had simply designed and developed separate and more specialized aircraft to meet their specific operational requirements...

Michigan GOP Chair says assassination only way to remove elected GOP officials.

Fellow UM regents decry Michigan GOP chair for assassination, 'three witches' quips

Craig Mauger
The Detroit News, March 26, 2021

Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser labeled the state's top Democratic officeholders "witches" and referenced "assassination" Thursday when pressed for answers about how to remove two sitting GOP congressmen.

In a video obtained by The Detroit News, Weiser made the comments while taking questions from the audience at a North Oakland Republican Club meeting. The comments quickly drew criticism from Democrats around the state, including at least two fellow regents from the University of Michigan.

Watch the video here.

Someone in the crowd asked how to unseat U.S. Reps. Fred Upton of St. Joseph and Peter Meijer of Grand Rapids Township, who were among 10 House Republicans to support the impeachment of former President Donald Trump in January. The Senate voted to acquit.

THIS IS THE LEADER OF THE MICHIGAN REPUBLICANS — CALLING TOP THREE MICHIGAN DEMOCRATIC WOMEN POLITICIANS “WITCHES” AND WILLING TO GIVE VOICE TO MURDEROUS THOUGHTS REGARDING REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED TO IMPEACH TRUMP.

I wonder if he’s chums with the crowd who wanted to kidnap and murder the Governor?

Must distract from Biden's successes.

What better way than to invent a crisis?

In Michigan, the GOP is offering to pay state prosecutors $250,000 to “find” wrongdoing by Gov. Whitmer.

Media Millionaires

Journalism by and for the 0.01 Percent

Fairness & Accuracy In Media

EXCERPT...

The media business outstrips other industries in generously compensating its top executives (New York Times, 5/5/13), and those resources could of course be put to better use by hiring reporters. But that’s not the way the system works. And it’s not just the bosses getting rich. Indeed, many high-profile members of the media elite live a rather charmed life. The journalism business looks to be in a disastrous state—but the view from the top is just fine.

SNIP...

David Gregory

As host of NBC’s Meet the Press, David Gregory is paid to quiz politicians on the tough issues of the day. But he offers his own opinions on the show, too; he’s encouraged the Obama White House to propose “big spending cuts” in order to confuse Republicans (1/27/13; FAIR Blog, 1/29/13). He thinks the White House should have done more to have a “moment in the Rose Garden” with a few corporate CEOs (11/11/12; FAIR Blog, 11/13/12), and demanded to hear more from the White House about the “hard choices” Americans must make to get by with less (1/29/12). He worried about the problem of Occupy activists “demonizing Wall Street” (10/10/11). He expressed concern that the more people criticize big banks, “the closer you get to wiping out the shareholder completely”—a person “who is not just a fat cat” (2/22/09).

In that sense, Gregory is reflecting what passes for conventional wisdom in corporate media—but also among people in Gregory’s economic class. His salary is not disclosed, but his predecessor, Tim Russert, reportedly made more than $5 million a year (Washington Post, 5/23/04). As Politico reported (3/15/12), Gregory was seeking membership in the exclusive Chevy Chase Club, which requires an $80,000 “initiation fee.” Gregory was sponsored by a couple of Washington-area real estate moguls.

SNIP...

In 2013, Gregory made gossipy news in Washington after apparently becoming incensed about a parking situation near his home (Washington Post, 4/10/13). Visitors to the D.C. Design House, an architectural showcase to benefit the Children’s National Medical Center, were evidently clogging up the streets near Gregory’s home. According to one of the designers, Gregory came to the house to very loudly complain on the front lawn. Witnesses claimed that Gregory yelled something about knowing “all the politicians in town,” which the anchor denied.
