People need to STOP saying Beto should run for Senate and support MJ Hegar

Seriously...there is a pretty incredible WOMAN running for that seat. Beto is running for president, PERIOD.

Just a heads up!

Why Democrats (not candidates) need to STOP ignoring and/or demonizing rural voters...

First and foremost...it is NOT accurate that all people in rural areas are conservative. What IS accurate is that most rural voters do NOT vote. Why don't they vote? Usually because they don't feel like their vote makes a difference AND because no one bothers to pursue their votes.

I looked up the information for Clay County Alabama, total population 13,407.

In Clay County there are 10,079 registered voters, but only 9592 who are active.

Out of those voters, in 2018 only 5445 or 54.09% actually voted.

Democrats got on average 20-24% of those votes.

If Democrats simply showed up they could almost certainly increase the number of votes they get in rural areas of states and by doing that they could win more statewide elections as well as presidential elections because it would win battleground states.

Democrats should NEVER ignore rural voters. That does NOT mean pandering to them. Don't change the message, just show up, listen, talk to them and it WILL change everything.

Editing this for clarity...I am NOT talking about the candidates for office. I am talking about voters/supporters who are constantly bashing and demonizing rural Americans. Most of these people don't even vote. It's foolish to be so blatantly opposed to the candidates reaching out to those voters.

Mirsky - Strongest Candidates for President 2020: Beto O'Rourke

Attorney David Mirsky shares his thoughts on Presidential Candidate Beto O'Rourke's visit to Exeter on May 11, 2019.

Today, Saturday, May 11, 2019, was a very special day here in Exeter, as it was today that the people of Exeter got the chance to meet one of the most important Presidential Candidates of the 2020 presidential election cycle; I'm talking about Beto O'Rourke of Texas.

If elected President of the United States, Beto O'Rourke would become that singularly significant historical figure in American history, the one who put a stop to the polluting practices of our society that have placed us all in jeopardy of our planet becoming uninhabitable. Beto's greatest strength in this area is that he is able to explain so clearly what the problem is, what Climate Change means in the lives of real people, and what needs to be done. He has the clarity of vision to express himself convincingly.

A democracy is a truly wonderful thing but it is as fragile as human life. We must care for our democracy, with the attention and compassion and vigilance that we provide to our children.

In watching and listening to Beto O'Rourke answer some of the typically challenging questions we in New Hampshire ask at these presidential campaign events, I was especially impressed that Beto O'Rourke has the capacity to listen, address concerns, and find common ground with people, while maintaining a positive and uplifting demeanor.

Positive, uplifting, understanding, compassionate, reflecting good intentions, having clear ideas as to how to address the needs of real people in this country: This is the type of person who should be President of the United States, right?
