Twenty-one year old white man goes into Charleston church and kills nine people. Twenty-one....

....year old white man goes into Atlanta area beauty parlors and kills eight people. The media reaction, the amount of coverage of these two similar events has been quite different. Why do you suppose that is? Black folk versus Asian folk? Church versus Beauty Parlor? A Pastor and his flock versus hairdressers and nail technicians? All of the above?

Both Lauren Boebert and Margorie Taylor Green are new members of the House Budget.....

....Committee. This will produce a critical mass of the crazy on the right side of the dais every time they meet. I'm sure neither will be satisfied to play second fiddle when it comes time to question a witness, not wanting to be anything less than the center of attention. The Repubs on the committee are going to need the Costco double pack of antacids when this happens. Maybe we shouldn't be in such a hurry to show either one of them to the door and maybe ask our Republican friends, as long as they are going to Costco, could they pick up some popcorn for us.

The latest from Dr. John Campbell on the current state of the pandemic. Others have posted his....

....reports and I find them so informative that I keep suggesting that friends and family look at them too.

The transparency of Biden's call to Putin makes me wonder if we might some day see....

....the transcript of T***p's call to the Ukraine, you know the "perfect" one that they hid on some sort of super secret server.

I'd like to see something from the new Biden administration in an effort to make things.....

....right with the Kurds, a betrayal that needs to be addressed, IMO.

The new press secretary's name, Jen Psaki, and the question about how it is pronounced reminds.....

....me of President Ford's press secretary Jerry terHorst. A Doonesbury comic strip of a post-Nixon press conference had a reporter asking Mr. terHorst if he would mind changing his name because it looked like a typo, to which he replied "No problem". It was especially funny because it underscored a new, fresh beginning with the press, after the lies and obfuscations of the Nixon years. Ron Ziegler used to be the gold standard for lying press secretaries, but by Trumpian standards he was truly bush league.

Just got a Covid-19 Vaccine appointment for this Thursday. Yayz! What a relief.....

....to finally see a personal end to this. Got to love Washington State and their Department of Health. Filled out the eligibility form online, got approved (over 65) and they sent the approval to my provider. In a total of 20 minutes I had the appointment made. Way cool. Jay Inslee our Governor ROCKS.

Please consider that Congress passed a Covid-19 Relief Bill that required 5593 pages of....

....bullshit and complications that were necessary to get the people a little bit of help, while it only took 1246 pages for Great Britain and Europe to define an entirely new trade agreement. Years ago David Brinkley, when he was still doing the Huntley-Brinkley Report, did a commentary on the show opining that Congress should be required to have any new law that they passed be limited to a single sheet of 8 1/2 by 11 paper. He held that this would limit the amount of mischief that they could get into. Fifty years down the road and things have certainly got worse.

My neighbor's Christmas card this year is photos of neighborhood yard signs that she saw.....

.....this fall as she walked the dog. We're in a pretty "blue" neighborhood in a really "red" city, so it's kind of nice to see.
