Yosemito's JournalShutdown will soon cost more than the wall
By Friday, S&P Global estimates the shutdown will have cost the economy $3.6bn. Within two weeks, the firm says losses from the shutdown will be larger than the cost of the wall itself.

Maybe the GoFundMe nut will pay for the shutdown.

Cher, who today drunk-tweeted that Democrats should just give Trump his wall money, said this two years ago:

As recently as yesterday, he asked Trump to end the shutdown

If Trump uses National Emergency loophole for the wall, we should use it too
If Donald Trump uses the national emergency power, a President Beto, Sanders or Biden (etc) would be able to declare the following a national emergency:
-Giving health insurance to everyone
-Demolishing the wall built by Trump
-Ending gerrymandering
Etc.
The best thing that could happen is for Trump to refrain from starting this slippery slope.
Otherwise bring it.
Kamala Harris praises Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Very different from Whoopi's opinion:
"I think she is introducing bold ideas that should be discussed," Harris said. "And I think it's good for the party. I frankly think it's good for the country."
"Let's look at the bold ideas, and I'm eager that we have those discussions. And when we are able to defend the status quo, then do it. And if there's not merit to that, then let's explore new ideas," she added.

AOC: Guess who else wanted a steel wall?
https://twitter.com/aoc/status/1082809753292685312?s=21Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez responds to Whoopi's request that she sit back
https://twitter.com/aoc/status/1082694057854414848?s=21Hillary supporter here, in defense of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
In 2016 I supported Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders.
The AOC obsession of right wingers and even some liberals such as Whoopi Goldberg remind me of the obsession with Hillary from the raqdical right and left.
Now Whoopi is telling Ocasio-Cortez to shut up. Weren't we all upset when Kamala Harris was told to shut up?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was supported by "Our Revolution", Therefore she initially annoyed me.
But I see significant differences between her and independent Bernie-or-Busters.
Alexandria is a Democrat, who fights to move the party left WITHIN the Democratic Party.
She revently supported Nancy Pelosi's bid as House leader. So she is not out to harm the party.
She's from one of the most liberal areas of the country, and that reflects her thinking.
The more the right wing nuts and anyone else treats AOC in a condescending manner, the more she will remind me of Hillary and Kamala and the more she will grow on me.
Facebook, Twitter Turn to Right-Leaning Groups to Help Referee Political Speech
Source: Wall Street Journal
Silicon Valley giants Facebook Inc., FB 2.83% Twitter Inc. TWTR 0.10% and Googles YouTube unit have made a concerted push to seek out input from hundreds of groups, a growing number of which lean to the right. The companies have become receptive to behind-the-scenes lobbying as well.
Among the initiatives, Facebook has privately sought advice from the Family Research Council, a conservative Christian public-policy group, and its president Tony Perkins, according to people familiar with those meetings. Twitters Chief Executive Jack Dorsey recently hosted dinners with conservatives, including Grover Norquist, the founder and president of Americans for Tax Reform, which advocates for lower taxes. Advisers on the left include the Southern Poverty Law Center, a civil-rights group that keeps a list of hate groups.
For users frustrated by the lack of clarity around how these companies make decisions, the added voices have made matters even murkier. Meetings between companies and their unofficial advisers are rarely publicized, and some outside groups and individuals have to sign nondisclosure agreements.
And in many cases, posts that are hateful to one group are considered fair gameor even uncomfortable truthsto others on the opposite end of the spectrum, opening a whole new arena to continue the political and ideological fights that are often a staple of social media.

If they do the opposite with Trump tonight they will have some explaining to do:
