Democrats Ask if Trump Administration Misspent Funds During Shutdown
Source: Wall Street Journal
The Internal Revenue Service called back thousands of workers to help process taxpayer returns at the start of the filing season. The National Park Service diverted entrance fees meant for infrastructure and maintenance to keep up with daily operations. The Interior Department used donations from the Park Foundation to fix broken lights on the National Christmas Tree near the White House.
In another example, the Federal Aviation Administration allowed Southwest Airlines Co. to cover the cost of briefly recalling a furloughed safety inspector to sign off on putting three of the companys new jets into service.
An FAA spokesman said the move, which was approved by agency managers and lawyers, complied with laws and regulations restricting agency functions during the shutdown.
Democratic lawmakers and budget experts have questioned whether the moves comply with the Antideficiency Act, which generally limits government spending during a shutdown to activities necessary to protect human life and property.

South Korean Leader's Ally Convicted of Illegal Pre-Election Influence Campaign
Source: New York Times
A close political ally of President Moon Jae-in of South Korea was sentenced to two years in prison on Wednesday for conspiring with bloggers to illegally influence public opinion before Mr. Moons election in 2017.
The politician, Gov. Kim Kyoung-soo of South Gyeongsang Province in the countrys southeast, was taken to prison shortly after Seoul Central District Court convicted and sentenced him on Wednesday.
No evidence has emerged that Mr. Moon was aware of Mr. Kims activities. But the verdict is a political setback for the president, for whom Mr. Kim was a key adviser during the 2017 presidential campaign, in which Mr. Moon ran as a champion of clean politics.
Mr. Kim was accused of working with a blogger named Kim Dong-won, known widely by his alias, Druking, to sway online opinion in favor of Mr. Moon, both before and after the election.

Suspicious anti-Kamala activity coming from Tulsi-supporting Twitter account
A suspicious Twitter account is exclusively tweeting against Kamala Harris today.
Its location is not specified.
Ms. Gabbard should explain whether her campaign is aligned with this account.
My guess is no. More likely coming from a foreign power:
