Good news for Democrats, taking back school boards around the country

Dems are taking back school boards from Maga extremists around the country, reported in the Guardian:

Scores of rightwing US extremists were defeated in school-board elections in April, in a victory for the left and what Democrats hope could be effective for running against Republicans in the year ahead.

In Illinois, Democrats said more than 70% of school-board candidates it had endorsed won their races, often defeating the kinds of anti-LGBTQ+ culture-warrior candidates who have taken control of school boards across the country.


Republican-backed candidates in Wisconsin also fared poorly. Moms for Liberty, a rightwing group linked to wealthy Republican donors which has been behind book-banning campaigns in the US, said only eight of its endorsed candidates won election to school boards, and other conservative groups also reported disappointing performances.

Apparently Sexton is having an affair with the wife of Gov Lee's communications director and it seems to be all over twitter now. Perhaps his wife will kick him out and send him back to his condo that is actually located in his district.

Trump has launched a lawsuit against Michael Cohen for breach of contract and breaching client/attorney privilege. What an idiot, he is still lashing out, thinking it will help him. No client/attorney privilege in the advancement of a crime.

I just got notification from Substack that notes are now available. This is what Musk is so afraid of, notes gives a snippet of substack articles and "You can share links, images, quick thoughts, and snippets from Substack posts."

I am curious to see where this goes and if more people use it in a replacement for twitter.

When Washington Realized Russia Was Actually Invading Ukraine

I came across this article from Politico while reading Empty Wheel and she provided a link to it. Interviews with intelligence officials about how they prepared for and informed Ukraine and European allies that Russia was going to invade. It also confirms what we already know, that Joe Biden was the right person in the presidency and he appointed the right people in their jobs. Several of Russia's spies have been disbanded in Europe over the past year.

It is a very interesting read and I have also put the link to the Empty Wheel article.

Trump to call Anderson Cooper as a witness for the defense in the E.J. Carroll trial

Anderson Cooper is on the list of witnesses for the defense for Trump in his defamation trial set to begin April 25th. If I remember correctly Trump was accusing CNN and Cooper of changing their questioning of Carroll in an interview, because she said something like most people think rape is sexy or some other ridiculous thing and Cooper went straight to a commercial.

Not sure where this is going but could be interesting.
