Mueller probes Roger Stone’s interactions with Trump campaign and timing of WikiLeaks release of Podesta emails

On Friday, Mueller’s team questioned Stephen K. Bannon, Trump’s former chief campaign strategist, about alleged claims Stone made privately about WikiLeaks before the group released emails allegedly hacked by Russian operatives, according to people familiar with the session.

In his interview Friday with the special counsel team, Bannon was asked about Stone’s interactions with the campaign and instances in which Stone allegedly made private comments that matched his public declarations of having knowledge of WikiLeaks’s plans, according to people with knowledge of the interview.

I believe Avenatti is getting swiftboated

In my opinion, the Trumpers have identified Avenatti as a threat, so they've begun spreading smears about him.

First we have Molly Ball of TIME, who is so far refusing Avenatti's request to release the full transcript of their conversation.

Then we have Chuckles Grassley starting an investigation, with Chuck Todd and NBC news using this development to go on the attack.

I'm withholding judgement on Avenatti, but this smells like the fake Benghazi and Clinton email investigations to me.

One thing I DO know is that the press loves strong Republicans but hates strong Democrats.

LA Times (9/28/2018) - FBI will interview another woman

This was news to me. Sorry if it was already covered.

The FBI moved immediately given the short time frame. By Friday night, agents had sought to schedule an interview with one of two other women who, after Blasey Ford went public, made accusations of their own about alleged assaults dating to Kavanaugh’s days in high school and at Yale University, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation who asked to remain unidentified given the sensitivity of the matter.
FBI investigators contacted the attorneys for the woman and asked to interview her “as early as tonight,” according to one of the sources. Her attorneys countered with a later time, but the interview could occur this weekend, the sources said.

Roger Stone Offered to Assist His Alleged WikiLeaks Source With Legal Expenses

Roger Stone is so honest, isn't he?

Last year, as investigators examined claims by longtime Donald Trump adviser Roger Stone that he was in contact during the 2016 election with WikiLeaks, Stone asserted that he had only learned about the group’s plans through an intermediary: Randy Credico, a comedian and political activist. Credico has denied being Stone’s go-between. And now he tells Mother Jones that Stone offered to help him pay his legal fees in what Credico believed was an effort to stop him from contradicting Stone’s account of their interactions during the 2016 campaign.

“He knew that I was upset,” Credico says. “He wanted me to be quiet. He wanted me to go along with his narrative. He didn’t want me talking to the press and saying what I was saying.”

Breaking! Manafort apparently reaches some sort of plea deal!

Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort has tentatively agreed to a plea deal with special counsel Robert Mueller that will head off his upcoming trial, sources familiar with the negotiations tell ABC News.

The deal is expected to be announced in court Friday, but it remains unclear whether Manafort has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors or is simply conceding to a guilty plea, which would allow him to avoid the stress and expense of trial, according to three sources with knowledge of the discussions.

Whatever Manafort offered Mueller—maybe it was small, maybe it was big, no sense in speculating—was something at least for now the parties do *not* want public. But media saying that the basis for the plea deal was to save Manafort "stress and expense"... no. Just no. Stop it.
