rump Blasts Fox News For Supposedly Airing 'Untruthful Anti-Trump Commercials'

Former President Donald Trump blasted Fox News on Sunday, claiming the network “continually allow[s] horrible and untruthful anti-Trump commercials to be run.”

“What good is it if FOX News speaks well of me when they continually allow horrible and untruthful anti-Trump commercials to be run—and plenty of them,” Trump said in a statement. “In the good old days, that would never have happened and today it happens all of the time.”

He went on to complain about the “forces” working against him.

“Ratings-challenged CNN and MSNBC would never run a positive Trump ad—never,” he said. “With so many forces against us, Big Tech, the Fake News Media, the Radical Left, the RINOs, and more, we are at such a disadvantage, but we will win anyway!”

Man Accused Of Killing A 31-Year-Old Sitting In A Car In Front Of His Home Has Been Arrested

A Texas man has been booked on suspicion of murder in the shooting death of a 31-year-old man who was sitting alone, unarmed, in a car outside his home.

The arrest came 11 days after the deadly shooting of Adil Dghoughi, prompting family and friends to publicly decry the lack of justice and information released on the case.

Terry Duane Turner, 65, is suspected of confronting Dghoughi with a handgun early on Oct. 11, then fatally shooting him through the driver's-side window. Turner found a car on his driveway, allegedly walked out with a handgun, and chased after Dghoughi as the 31-year-old rapidly backed out of the driveway.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by BuzzFeed News, Turner stood on the driver's side of the car, tapped the window twice, and fired once into the car, striking Dhoughi in the head.

"I just killed a guy," Turner told a 911 dispatcher after the shooting. "He started racing away and I ran after him. He pointed a gun at me and I shot."

Despite Turner's statement, however, police said they found no weapons inside the vehicle.

Texas man charged with murder after shooting someone in a car outside his home. He told police it was self-defense

A Texas man is facing a first-degree murder charge related to the fatal shooting of a man sitting in a parked car outside his home earlier this month in a case the victim's family believes could test the limits of the state's so-called stand your ground law.

Terry Duane Turner, 65, told police he woke up to use the bathroom and "discovered an unknown vehicle with its headlights off, to be parked inside of the driveway next to his pickup truck," according to an arrest affidavit obtained by CNN.

Turner said he returned to his bedroom to get his handgun and ran outside to find the headlights of the vehicle turned on, according to the affidavit. Turner told police that the car rapidly backed out of his driveway, he chased after it, and "struck the front driver's side door window twice with his handgun" and fired the gun, striking the driver, the affidavit said.

The victim was identified as Adil Dghoughi, 31, according to police.

Dghoughi's girlfriend, Sarah Todd, told CNN the couple was visiting her cousin in San Antonio prior to the shooting and Dghoughi left to drive back to her home in Maxwell. Todd believes Dghoughi got lost in Martindale and pulled over to look up directions when he was killed.

According to court documents, Turner told a 911 operator after the shooting that "I just killed a guy," adding that Dghoughi "started racing away and I ran after him. He pointed a gun at me, and I shot."

Investigators didn't find a gun in Dghoughi's possession, according to the affidavit.

The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office defended its work in a statement Friday, saying, "Detectives have worked tirelessly on this case since the incident occurred on October 11th, 2021. Detectives have conducted multiple interviews and executed multiple search warrants in the course of this investigation."

Othmane Dghoughi, Adil Dghoughi's brother, told CNN he's "happy" about the arrest but not "100%" relieved. "We still need to see the evidence that will be presented to the Grand Jury," he said.

Todd, Dghoughi's girlfriend, echoed Othmane Dghoughi's sentiment, saying she's "glad" Turner has finally been arrested, but knows "this is only the beginning."

"We're going to continue to fight until there is justice for Adil," Todd said.

Trump pick's Parnell for PA and Walker for GA worry GOP, about their scuzzy backgrounds

Trump pick's messy personal life worries Senate Republicans desperate to hold on to Pennsylvania seat

Sean Parnell may have the backing of former President Donald Trump, but the Pennsylvania Republican also has significant personal baggage that is raising concerns about the GOP's ability to hold one of the most competitive Senate seats in the country next year.

A rival Republican candidate has revealed details about Parnell's ongoing and messy divorce and custody cases, part of an increasingly ugly GOP primary in the Keystone State that is giving Republicans in both Washington and Pennsylvania pause. While it is unclear what Parnell's estranged wife had alleged about him, documents showed she was granted two protective orders against him, though they were later expunged. But the news coverage in local papers of the revelations are prompting party leaders to privately question Trump's choice to succeed retiring Sen. Pat Toomey in one of Democrats' top-targeted seats.

-----------

And Parnell isn't the only Trump-backed candidate facing scrutiny about his troubled past, with Senate candidate Herschel Walker of Georgia also having to address questions about his alleged past behavior.

The Republican establishment, meanwhile, is raising concerns that the party apparatus is too willing to accept Trump's chosen candidates, particularly when those candidates risk damaging the GOP's ability to win key races to building majorities in Congress.

CNN has learned that multiple GOP senators and donors are asking Florida Sen. Rick Scott, the powerful chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, about why his political consultants are also working with Parnell in the primary, according to three Republicans with knowledge of those conversations. The consultants in question hail from OnMessage, a campaign strategy firm who count Scott and Parnell among their many Republican clients.

officers in Connecticut accused of drinking and ignoring calls while on duty resign from their job

The two are facing multiple charges including larceny and reckless endangerment.
Two police officers in Connecticut resigned earlier this month after they were accused of drinking in their patrol cars and not responding to service calls while on duty, according to reports.

Norwalk Police Chief Thomas Kulhawik said the officers, identified as 39-year-old Michael DiMeglio and 31-year-old Sarah Laudano, stepped down on October 15, The Hour reported.

"I'm glad that this incident is now behind us from a department perspective," Kulhawik told the newspaper.

CBS New York reported the two were suspended last year after they were discovered together at a hotel instead of working and drinking in a school parking lot, police said.

According to CT Insider citing an arrest warrant, the duo was found by their supervisor on the night of October 9 2020, and cops said they "were not in a condition to respond to calls for service."

The warrant said that during their investigation, authorities also found broken beer bottles at the school that was linked to both officers, according to the report.

NORWALK, Conn. (CBSNewYork) — Two Norwalk police officers accused of ignoring service calls while binge-drinking have resigned.

Sarah Laudano and Michael DiMeglio were suspended a year ago after a supervisor found them together at a hotel instead of out on patrol.

Cops say the two had been drinking in their patrol cars, hanging out behind a school.

The resignations do not affect the charges against them, which include larceny for accepting pay but not working.

Thousands of Sequoias Must Be Chopped Down, Trees pose danger after California wildfires

Thousands of Sequoias Must Be Chopped Down
Trees pose danger after California wildfires

Thousands of California's famed giant sequoias are doomed in the wake of devastating wildfires that have swept the Sierra Nevada. Per ABC News, upwards of 10,000 of the trees, which can reach 275 feet and live for 3,000 years or more, must be culled for safety reasons. The trees line Generals Highway--which cuts through Sequoia National Park, Giant Sequoia National Monument, and Kings Canyon National Park--and have been weakened not only by the fires but by drought and disease. Per an NPS press release, the "hazard trees" have a high probability to fail and the potential to strike people, cars, other structures, or create barriers to emergency response services.

In worse news for the rare giants, the release goes on to say that count does not include hazard trees in the backcountry, where mitigation planning is ongoing. As The Hill notes, the Kings Canyon National Parks Complex fire, which started Sept. 10, has left the highway closed for weeks. The NPS estimates the fire is 60 percent contained, having now burned 138 square miles. Earlier this month, officials revealed that "hundreds" of sequoias had been killed by the blaze, which was started by lightning on Sept. 9 has burned into 15 giant sequoia groves in the park. Multiple burned trees fell in Giant Forest—which is home to about 2,000 sequoias, including the General Sherman Tree, considered the world's largest by volume

Iranian governor slapped HARD - man upset his wife was vaxxed by a man rather than a woman

An event introducing a newly appointed Iranian governor was dramatically interrupted Saturday after a man walked on stage and slapped him in the face.

A video posted online by Iran's semi-official Fars News Agency shows a man calmly walking up to Khorram, slapping him in the face and then shoving him. Security guards can then be seen running toward the offender and pulling him off stage.

It was a rare breach of security in Iran -- the event was attended by the country's Interior Minister, representatives of Ayatollah Khamenei's office and other state officials.

The semi-official news agency Tasnim identified the offender as Ayoub Alizadeh, a member of the country's armed forces.

In an interview with state-run television IRIB, the provincial governor said he did not know the offender personally.

The motive for the attack is unclear. According to Khorram, the offender told the police after he was arrested that he slapped him because he was upset that a man had vaccinated his wife at a Covid-19 vaccine clinic, rather than a woman, IRIB said in its report.

Right-Wing Pro-Trump Event Aiming for 10,000 Attendees Sees Less Than 1,000 on First Day

A right-wing conference in Utah featuring prominent allies of former President Donald Trump had hoped to sell 10,000 tickets or more but saw fewer than 1,000 show up during the first day of the event on Friday.

The Western Conservative Action Network (WeCANact) Liberty Conference is taking place this weekend at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, featuring prominent Trump loyalist retired Lt. General Michael Flynn. The event began Friday and runs through Saturday with speakers promoting conspiracy theories about the 2020 election, misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic, and opposition to vaccines.

Although organizers hoped to attract some 10,000 attendees or more, less than 1,000 showed up for the first day on Friday, The Salt Lake Tribune reported. A photo from the event published by the local newspaper showed a largely empty conference room with hundreds of empty chairs.

Ticket prices for the event started at $129 for those who booked months in advance. They then increased to $169 while VIP tickets were sold for $269. Late Friday, the event promoted "Saturday Only" tickets for $49 as well as "Saturday Only VIP" tickets for $149.

Flynn has traveled around the country over the past several months speaking at far-right events promoting the conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was "stolen" from Trump. Although the former president and a number of prominent loyalist supporters continue to spread misinformation about the last presidential election, they have not provided evidence substantiating their extraordinary claims.

all frat social activities halted at USC amid more drugging reports

USC Fraternity Activity Halted Amid More Drugging Reports Involving More Frats

The Interfraternity Council has called a halt to all social activities at USC fraternities Saturday after the Department of Public Safety announced it received not only allegations of sexual abuse and drugs being slipped into drinks during parties at Sigma Nu fraternity, where chapter President Ryan Schiffilea has been confirmed by police as a sexual assault suspect, but also at other fraternities.

“Ryan Schiffilea is a suspect but has not been arrested. This is an ongoing investigation,'” Los Angeles Police Department Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.

DPS announced Saturday that it will enforce the Interfraternity Council's Safety Notification, which prohibits fraternities from hosting on-campus social activities indefinitely.

“The university has also taken steps to increase security and enhanced supervision on and around 28th Street,” DPS said.

The campus police department's Oct. 20 Daily Incident Log lists five reports dating back to Sept. 27 of students claiming to have been slipped a mickey at parties at the Sigma Nu house, 660 W. 28th St., and another report of a student being drugged at a party at an unknown location. It also lists a report of a sexual assault at the Sigma Nu frat house.

Garden Grove Pays $500K to woman Arrested for DUI when she was actually having a stroke 10 yrs ago

Garden Grove Pays $500K to Stroke Victim Arrested for DUI

.

A Southern California city will pay $500,000 to settle a lawsuit by a woman arrested for driving under the influence when she was actually having a stroke.

The settlement ends a long legal battle over the arrest of Robin Winger, who was pulled over Oct. 31, 2011, while driving her teenage daughter to school, the Orange County Register reported Thursday.

Winger had clipped the mirror of a parked vehicle and appeared confused after the traffic stop. Her daughter told police that her mother didn’t feel well and there was something wrong with her, said her attorney, Jerry Steering.

What neither Wagner nor the officer knew was that the woman had suffered a stroke on the left side of her brain, Steering said.

Winger was given a field sobriety test and examined by a police drug recognition expert, who determined she was under the influence. She was booked for DUI at the city jail, which was operated by private vendor the Geo Group.

The charges were eventually dropped.

Winger sued the Garden Grove Police Department and the Geo Group in federal court. The Geo Group settled for $300,000 in 2015.
