A friend has been trying to talk me into ham radio, so I wanted to ask around. I know I can buy a cheapie online and don't need a license to just listen. I know about repeaters and such and the different types of bands (he goes into a lot of detail when he's fired up). And a few other tidbits.

But, not being much of a talker, one question comes up, and I really don't want to ask him. What do people talk about? A bit of research online revealed that there's a lot of angry RW chatter, people talking about their hemorrhoids, and the guys who apparently lock their mike buttons down and filibuster away. And a lot of guys are into emergency services or just the radios themselves.

I have several other interests, so it's not like I need a hobby.

Any thoughts?

Blame it on Biden? Or is it something else?

Use their own tactic against them?

Or are they too nice to do that?

All these assholes that go on TV advocating for bullshit cures for Covid... are they not in fact dispensing medical advice without a license? And isn't that illegal?

Just curious. We know Ted is a spineless POS, but that whole exchange looked like something out of a TV cop show interrogation. Scripted. Cliched. Overwrought with emotion. Or a bit of Spanish Inquisition. Ol' Fucker bringing wayward Teddy "back into the fold."

I guess I'm just getting more cynical about these assholes by the day. So much of what they do seems to be theatre for their lemmings, and it's more obvious by the day that they think their lemmings are morons.

I don't believe it for a second. I think they know it's a lie but they're playing along with it for their asshole followers.

Plus, of course, they'd rather die slowly and painfully than ever admit they were wrong.

I'm sure this has come up before, but it just seems like the question needs to be asked. In public.
