Anybody remember Slocum?

I wonder how the descendants of the hundred or so Black people massacred in Slocum feel about this latest shooting being called the worst in Texas history.

Hello again.

DU has been a home for me online for many years now, even though I never posted much. It served, along with the Daily Show, Crooks and Liars, and a couple of others, as a balm for my nerves and a trustworthy source of information during the Dubya years. And now I need more than ever .. I retired a former account after some technical problems and have just rejoined DU. Good to be back! Thanks for being here all along.

PS: is Top 10 Idiots ever coming back?

"We have become a national security state, that means our reason for existing is war and defense contractors are the merchants of death."

Note: the audio has some problems at the beginning, but it's a great speech. Ought to be amplified the world over.
