I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

The bottomless bollocks of Trump

Can't spell socialist, can't define socialist, but heh, another day in the mad mad world we all now inhabit. Although, to be fair, for the many not the few would be extremely confusing for him unless there was a literal and immediate quid pro quo for him and his grifter family... supported by his own version of workers protections... that would be the republican senate!

PELOSI on Trump giving Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh: "Quite frankly, when he started talking about someone with Stage 4 cancer ... we thought he was gonna talk about John Lewis."

Heh, chance would be a fine thing.

Marie Yovanovitch calls out Trump allies' 'storm of lies and conspiracies' in scathing op-ed

“I have seen dictatorships around the world, where blind obedience is the norm and truth-tellers are threatened with punishment or death,” she writes. “We must not allow the United States to become a country where standing up to our government is a dangerous act. It has been shocking to experience the storm of criticism, lies and malicious conspiracies that have preceded and followed my public testimony.”
----
“Our public servants need responsible and ethical political leadership,” she writes. “This administration, through acts of omission and commission, has undermined our democratic institutions, making the public question the truth and leaving public servants without the support and example of ethical behavior that they need to do their jobs and advance U.S. interests.”

Emphasis mine
Of course they all think she is a traitor... cause... they are wankers. But she is not wrong in the least and further attempts to destry her in 3...2...1...!

Nobody is above the law?!?!?! They have literally NO SHAME...

BREAKING: I'm filing an ethics complaint against
@SpeakerPelosi
for destroying
@realDonaldTrump
's State of the Union speech.

Her conduct was beneath the dignity of the House, and a potential violation of law (18 USC 2071).

Nobody is above the law. She must be held accountable.

Toady fucker. She ripped up a paper full of right wing bollocks and according to the Trump enablers that means she is more guilty than a chap who tried to extort an election and has literally set the constitution on fire in the process. Guilty you say. These wankers are insane.

If nobody was above the law then this should be in our immediate future...

Heh. Chance would be a fine thing,

The slow creep of authoritarian rule need not be dramatic...

Impeachment was a health-check for American democracy. It is not well
None of this means that impeachment was a mistake. Like acquittal, a failure to impeach at all would have sent the same signal: that there are no limits on Trump’s actions. Impeachment at least kept the torch of the truth and the law alive. But now we must be very careful. They are about to – they must – come to try to extinguish that torch. Only an electoral repudiation so vast that it cannot be questioned can prevent them, and it must be won at a time when their power has never been less restrained by law or principle. The fate of democracy in America depends on it.

2020 is a year that historians will remember well for good or for ill. Do you think that the average American, going about their average lives, understand how vital their participation is this year?

How far has the Republican Party fallen? They are doomed, doomed I say (I command it)

How far has the Republican Party fallen? Eight years ago, Mitt Romney was just about the worst that the party had to offer. He's still the same guy he's always been. Yet now he's one of the best people the Republican Party has left.

Some people have short memories for sure. For once he did the the right thing and some are willing to ignore the nasty fucker that he actually is because ONCE he acted ethically? Huh. Don't get me wrong, I am delighted that he did not give Trump his complete white wash and tweaked the giant orange nose...but...
...Call me cynical but he is revered as a saint in Utah - he is not going to lose his seat over this, and there is a political play in it somewhere... with republicans, one always has to ask what is in it for them, and I predict he is waiting for the swing back from far right to just very right to jump onto the main chance again.

On the bright side Trump is losing his mind over this!!! Hehehe

Had failed presidential candidate
@MittRomney
devoted the same energy and anger to defeating a faltering Barack Obama as he sanctimoniously does to me, he could have won the election. Read the Transcripts!

Buckle up chaps this shit is going to get really tired really soon

Kirk Douglas, Indomitable Icon of Hollywood's Golden Age, Dies at 103

Source: Hollywood Reporter

The actor starred in such films as 'Champion,' 'The Bad and the Beautiful,' 'Lust for Life,' 'Gunfight at the O.K. Corral' and 'Spartacus,' to name just a few.
Kirk Douglas, the son of a ragman who channeled a deep, personal anger through a chiseled jaw and steely blue eyes to forge one of the most indelible and indefatigable careers in Hollywood history, has died. He was 103.

“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” his son Michael Douglas said in a statement obtained by People magazine. “To the world, he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.”

Douglas walked away from a helicopter crash in 1991 and suffered a severe stroke in 1996 but, ever the battler, he refused to give in. With a passionate will to survive, he was the last man standing of all the great stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age.

Original quote from Shannon L. Alder, I felt it needed up dating for the particular challenges in 2020...

Now there's an idea we can all get behind...
