About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Roses are Red, Violets are Blue...

Pretty much all of this...

You know how the right wing is constantly having 'socialism' vapours?

The horrendous and quite frankly ludicrous attacks on what is seen as ‘liberal’ in the States are just good manners, reasonable behaviour towards your neighbours, and support for human rights for everyone, elsewhere in the west...

Socialism my arse...

These liars have perpetrated one of the most harmful con jobs in the last 50 years, on those that need help the most, with their rhetoric and fear mongering…

Just sayin' because 'We have now sunk to a depth at which the restatement of the obvious is the first duty of intelligent men' George Orwell

Breaking: Chancellor has quit

This is huge. Apparently he was told he could stay but he had to sack all his advisers. (that has to be cummings) Javid told Boris to sling his hook... bloody hell.

Control freaks being control freaks. Cummings is too big for his far right boots and I am for one delighted that Javid was not going to put up with that level of control from a non elected arsehole - putting his spies in number 11 - just guessing of course but it makes sense. Wonder how Boris is going to take this???? Hehe

Shit is getting real.

The intellectual deficit at the heart of our governments is horrifying. There's a reason for that.

The idiom pseudointellectual could have been created for the shallow twits that surround the president and prime minister alike - The stupid person's idea of a clever person sums up the attributes of these administrators, which says much about the ‘leaders’ we are stuck with for the time being and who they choose to surround themselves with. That there is there is such a profound, abundant and established history of folly and ignorance within the conservative movement no doubt supports such hubristic superficial thinkers to climb the greasy, corrupt and ethic free pole. There is a reason why these administrations avoid (or sack) actual intellectuals like the plague. Anyone who knows what they are they are talking about can far too easily expose their superficial grasp on the expertise that is needed to govern in a healthy democracy successfully. Ergo, they must be silenced.

Experts? Experts? We don’t need no stinking experts… *gulp*

Lindsey being a tad optimistic on his afterlife chances, me thinks...

The devil be like...

Would you vote for Bloomberg if he won the nomination? (With poll)

Around the progressive interwebs I am hearing the theme of ‘no matter who vote blue’ changing to ‘no matter who vote blue, unless of course it is Bloomberg, that would be a step to far’… A STEP TOO FAR??? Are you kidding me? Now don’t get me wrong, people with a shaky history on a multitude of issues, including voting patterns and civil rights is certainly far from ideal. As an outside observer, it is more than a tad disturbing that the chap with the biggest bank account could potentially win because of the power of the $$$, when we see other candidates who have worked for decades to get to this point and have (whether you agree with them or not) solid policy positions. But this is what the American election system looks like for fair or foul.

Looking left and look right I cannot objectively see how anyone would choose to sit November 2020 out cause Bloomberg when it could potentially give Trump another term. I do not think it hyperbole to state that if Trump gets another 4 years in power it is rather unlikely that any of you will get to go to the polls again in 2024.

Original cartoon which I shamelessly adapted and also has a very good point (just not about this)

Now, I really hope that Bloomberg does not get to purchase this nomination. However, if he pulls it off …Would you vote for him if he won the nomination? Why or why not?

Misogynists chat shit about a female POTUS being nuts 5 days a month. They are wrong of course, BUT

...if they were right just imagine how refreshing that would be...

There is a new brand of fake tan on the market...

Whatever he does and wherever he goes he is never going to escape the terribly awful fake tan or the impeachment. On the bright side did you know that in the UK use of sunbeds has dropped by 2/3's since Trump became President... I wonder why?...hhhhmmm

I am going for hope today and this should not be impossible... right?

Freedom is not freedom without the freedom for all of us to make diverse choices about who what and why we are. Inevitably this means that communities that exist side by side will sometimes differ in opinion on the best way to get stuff done, which can create a certain level of disagreement… in any successful democracy this is a necessary part of our governance, otherwise we would all be living in one party states. In the universe of normal, pre-Trump and pre-Brexit, everyone understood this, as nations we had a common solidarity, one with the other, about who what and why our nations were what they were. There were certain values and belief systems that bound us together outside the nuts and bolts of left, right, centrist, defending our constitutions being a case in point.

We know that there are values that should never be sold, and lines that should never be crossed. Right now, we are governed by arseholes that have erased those lines in favour of populist right wing demagoguery. We know that authoritarians of all stripes force alternative facts on the populace with the intended purpose of divide and conquer across communities. And bloody hell, aren’t they being effective right now?

However, this is where the hope comes in. This complete and utter lack of conscience and consideration for others separate those who lead us from the majority. They are sociopaths and I have to believe that the mainstream is not. The more they pander to the worst among us the more people with any modicums of humanity are going to have their eyes opened to what who and why they are. Of course, there are always going to be those that suck up the bullshit, but we have to hope that when it comes down to it these are not a preponderance of the population. We have had a bumpy ride in recent years, but taking our countries back is not impossible in the least, right?

No other republicans on the primary ballot but he still lost... priceless 👀

Donald Trump is the only name on the New Hampshire Republican ballot. Despite that, he just lost Dixville Notch to Mike Bloomberg, as a write-in. #NHPrimary

They bussed those pretend republicans in right? Can't be real republicans!!!!
Let this be the message from this district, not the Bloomberg democratic nod, which is rather dispiriting...
