About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Journal Archives

Stating the obvious but bears repeating...

Just as you think it can't get anymore awful - they surprise you yet again...

Putting an idiot who does not believe in science in charge of the response to a pandemic...

How very Trumpian... put a fucking idiot in charge.
Announcement of a prayer circle in 3...2...1...

This will be his entire strategy

After all anything else would be federal intervention on a persons own health choices, were suggesting self isolation and popping to the doctors is not financially viable for the vast majority of those most at risk...

In the sliding doors version of America, where shit is still sane...

…a President's main concern with a pandemic that has the capacity to literally kill many people, particularly those from our most vulnerable communities, being principally about the performance of the stock market would be considered more than a tad objectionable…

Just yet another example of how he has tainted the dialogue to such an extent that this is pretty much now considered situation normal.

Sometimes it is good to remember...

...speaking for myself I get somewhat obsessed with the ridiculous wankers that rule us and with the idiots that cannot see through them, that it is easy to forget when the chips are down, most people are good people... not the Nazis, obvs

"Judge, lest ye be subjected to another four years of this."

The case for keeping the Trump investigations coming

The more time Trump has to spend defending his indefensible record, the less time he has for other, even more fetid activities. And who knows? It might even convince some Americans that they can’t abide continued support for corruption and creeping authoritarianism.
Better yet, it might convince a few that somebody, anybody, is interested in fighting for what’s right. Disinformation campaigns such as the one we see shaping up to re-elect Trump, classically depend on fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Being hyper-critical and unforgiving might be a minor sin, but backed with hard evidence, it would make it clearer than a cloudless day in Utah just who has political legitimacy and who has been bending, if not breaking, the law for their own benefit. “Judge not, lest ye be judged” might have to become “Judge, lest ye be subjected to another four years of this.”

And for a bonus point it will drive him absolutely nuts...

Take us to your leader...

Funny. And actual fact if aliens ever landed!!!

What pandemic response team?

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyes: “For the moment we are not witnessing the uncontained global spread of this virus and we are not witnessing large-scale deaths... [countries should be] doing everything we can to prepare for a potential pandemic.”

And you know who will be worse hit... old people, those with underlying health conditions and those with limited access to robust healthcare... Trump and the idiots that surround him have not one clue how to handle this if it becomes a pandemic. Do you think they will think he is the next best thing to the second coming when they lie struggling for breath in shitty isolation? They have systematically abolished the support systems that everyone would expect during a crisis... and people only notice this kind of shit when it is suddenly needed. Now I truly hope that the virus does not take hold anywhere in America, of course I do, but if it does... yelp.

Trump demands two female Supreme Court justices recuse themselves from all of his cases...

... ‘I only ask for fairness’

Trump quoted Fox News personality Laura Ingraham as saying Justice Sonia Sotomayor “accuses GOP appointed justices of being biased in favor of Trump.”

“This is a terrible thing to say,” Trump argued.

The president did not see the comments as a warning of justices who were not acting impartially but instead said Sotomayor was trying to “shame” fellow justices into voting her way.

He then also lashed out at Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

“She never criticized Justice Ginsberg when she called me a ‘faker’. Both should recuse themselves on all Trump, or Trump related, matters!” Trump demanded, complete with an exclamation mark.

“While ‘elections have consequences’, I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court,” Trump claimed.

It is almost like he has never read the constitution..?!?! Judge tampering in the highest court of the land... Heh the fucker is officially out of control

Hitler decreed that the “People’s Court” would replace trial courts in political cases, including treason. Only loyal Nazis could be judges and treason would be defined as any form of opposition to National Socialism.

Anti-Greta: Far-right groups trying to turn teenager into climate change-denying version of Greta

A 19-year-old German climate change sceptic who has been described by her supporters as “the antidote to Greta Thunberg”, is gaining support from right-wing organisations, including Germany’s far-right party AfD party, and a think tank with links to The White House.

Naomi Seibt began uploading videos to YouTube last year, with titles such as “Climate change – just hot air?”, “Fierce without Feminism”, and “Message to the Media – HOW DARE YOU?”.

Her stance on the climate apparently caught the attention of The Heartland Institute, a US think tank based in Chicago, which has previously lobbied on behalf of tobacco firms, supports fracking and rejects the scientific consensus on climate change.
In a video put out by the Heartland Institute, titled “Naomi Seibt vs Greta Thunberg: Whom Should We Trust?”, Ms Seibt begins: “Science is entirely based on intellectual humility and it is important that we keep questioning the narrative that it out there instead of promoting it, and these days climate change science really isn’t science at all.”

Young, cute, vocal, far-right, anti-feminist, anti- climate change science and anti-immigration? What is not to love for the wankers on the right who would see out world burn as long as they are in their gilded towers...
It was only a matter of time. heh.

Trump has a "Deep State" hit list... of course he has

The Trump White House and its allies, over the past 18 months, assembled detailed lists of disloyal government officials to oust — and trusted pro-Trump people to replace them — according to more than a dozen sources familiar with the effort who spoke to Axios.

Driving the news: By the time President Trump instructed his 29-year-old former body man and new head of presidential personnel to rid his government of anti-Trump officials, he'd gathered reams of material to support his suspicions.

While Trump's distrust has only intensified since his impeachment and acquittal, he has long been on the hunt for "bad people" inside the White House and U.S. government, and fresh "pro-Trump" options. Outside advisers have been happy to oblige.
