About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

If you're guilty and you know it, start a war

He is so transparent in his bollocks it is almost unbelievable

It also plays terribly well to the time honoured tradition of republican presidents starting wars and costing countless lives all for increasing their chances of re-election.

That and gerrymandering and voter suppression..

It is a twofer really,
'Look over there, not at the impeachment. Look over there... there is a war on. You cannot vote me out while we are at war. It would be unpatriotic'

And on January 4th.....? Pestilence?

Whatever is going to happen next it is not going to be sunny uplands...

This was always going to get out of hand.

As soon as comparisons where made between Trump's Baghdad and Obama's Benghazi, Trump was always going to act in a haphazard and unhinged way. Of course, Obama understood restraint and that the international and geopolitical repercussions of acting rashly could risk national security. The fact that Obama acted with restraint always meant that Trump would act with this level of reckless violence. Because of this Trump will possibly bring America into another war, which will therefore potentially lead to a much bigger conflict with China, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Turkey all having skin in the game. His lack of understanding of geopolitics in the Middle East is more than a tad disturbing – he doesn’t understand the difference between Hamas and Hezbollah - and the fact that he spends his time pandering to the end days far right apocalyptic evangelists who, quite literally, want to bring on the four horses of the apocalypse, cause Jesus, does not give one hope that any of this will end well.

The war hawks and the right wing love the idea of another war. The military industry complex, the end times and ‘patriotism’ practically demands it...

Ominous time to be living through history.

This is an excellent comment

I saw this in the comment section of the guardian and decided to jazz it up a bit. Denying our past cannot be patriotic, cause of we deny it we cannot learn from it and then quite frankly nasty right wing fuckers get to pull their shit over and over. Traitors the lot of them…
Denying the Truth for personal gain and power… So very very this decade, don’t you think?

SURPRISE: Trump used to accuse Obama of trying to 'start a war' with Iran to get re-elected

President Donald Trump’s Pentagon on Thursday claimed credit for the “hugely consequential” assassination of Iranian Gen. Qasem Soleimani in Iraq.

Soleimani is a “revered” figure in Iran, and the country’s state television cut scheduled broadcasts to show photos of the general with a call for prayers.

With Middle East analysts expecting retaliation — and even war — it’s important to remember Trump’s views on the subject.

In 2012, Trump was convinced that then-President Barack Obama would launch a war with Iran to boost his re-election effort. Political scientists refer to a “rally around the flag” rise in poll numbers for commanders-in-chief at war.

“I always said Barack Obama will attack Iran, in some form, prior to the election,” Trump tweeted in August of 2012.

Polls are starting to look really bad for Obama. Looks like he'll have to start a war or major conflict to win. Don't put it past him!

There is always a tweet....Obama made him do it...*rolls eyes*

Don't let Obama play the Iran card in order to start a war in order to get elected--be careful Republicans!

Be careful republicans indeed... support this nonsense at your peril and the peril of world safety
He could not be more wanker predictable if he fucking tried. I always thought the only reasonable explanation of GW winning a second term was cause America was at war and rally round the flag is a real thing. It would be also my guess that this is why Trump tweeted a picture of the flag, without comment after the attack. Rally the base and stir patriotic fever in those who are currently wavering in their support because they have finally recognised he is a fucking monster.

I did not want to start 2020 with hate in my heart...but here we go...

Less agency than a corpse? Just the start of their endgame

“No woman can call herself free who does not control her own body.”
― Margaret Sanger

They do not want us to free to make any choices... about anything.... they get away with it with abortion rights, contraception will be next. After that? Modesty rules for dressing? Why not? Removing rights to higher level education... they would LOVE THAT. The less women develops reasoning skills, the less they will demand agency. After all...

According to their plan, a social “change of attitude” can be effected by influencing the seven “spheres” or “mountains” of culture: religion, education, economics, politics, arts and entertainment, media and the family.

But why the need for “social transformation?” The end goal is “dominion,” the establishment of God’s Kingdom on Earth. It is the fulfilment of Jesus’ prayer: “Your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)

'Entire species are being wiped out': Ecologists say half a billion animals may have been killed by

Australia wildfires

Ecologists at the University of Sydney are estimating that nearly half a billion animals have been killed in Australia’s unprecedented and catastrophic wildfires, which have sparked a continent-wide crisis and forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes in desperation.

News Corp Australia reported Wednesday that “there are real concerns entire species of plants and animals have been wiped out by bushfires following revelations almost 500 million animals have died since the crisis began.”

The new normal, except it isn’t.

It’s going to get much worse.

And the longer we delay climate action, the worse it will get

It is horrendous... and I think that it unlikely the landscape will have enough time to recover and replenish before this happens all over again.

Everyone has known Melania must be a robot, for a long time.

Heh. Proof positive

Future generations be like...

They are not going to give up this power easily

Listened to JC’s new year’s message and it is very clear that if the inner circle gets their way, they are going to do the exact opposite of what they need to do to be electable in 5 years’ time. How the hell can you do a speech and not even mention the utter failure at the election? This speech was to the membership only. At this point they do not give a flying fart what the rest of us think. The far left was flung out of the Labour party in the 1980’s and it took them over 30 years to get back. They have only been leading the sunny uplands of the Leaders office for 4 years and they are not going to give up this power easily.

For the next five years we know that Boris can do what he wants. We need the Labour party to coalesce behind a competent leader and shadow cabinet that have the skills to hold this far right government to account. This means the party needs to elect a leader that can land blows on Boris across the dispatch box, every single week. And a shadow cabinet that can do the same.

Instead by appealing to the membership with the false narrative that they won the argument, and it is all the medias fault, a continuity candidate of the Corbyn project will undoubtedly get the top job and ergo Labour will either be beyond any hope of resurrection, or at the very least be out of power for a generation.

And this will be the biggest betrayal of all for our most venerable communities.

If you haven't heard it..
