These are the sex acts that are most likely to injure you, according to science

Getting injured during sex sounds like a bad storyline to a soap opera - but it is very real and can happen in all manner of ways.

Just think about all of those repetitive movements and those muscles that you don't use too often.

It's bound to cause you all sorts of physical trouble, and the possibility of death isn't entirely out of the question! Let's not get too morbid though.

Injuries during intercourse are far more common than what you might think, and of course you'll want to avoid them.

So, in order to steer clear of any mishaps these are the sexual acts that could cause you a serious injury (and how to remedy some), according to science.

Broken penis?.... ouch. I am crossing my legs at the thought and I don’t even have a penis........

Brexiters, beware: if the ties that bind us unravel, tyranny may soon follow

Brexit is likely to exacerbate this tendency. We were promised that in leaving the EU we would regain our sovereignty. But in abandoning an association based on equal standing, we expose ourselves to coercion by other nations. Our relationship with the US, especially under the stewardship of the trade secretary Liam Fox, is likely to look like that of servant and master.

Fox, preposterously, is now the only official member of the UK’s board of trade. The new trade bill would grant him Henry VIII powers, enabling him to create laws without parliamentary approval. It was published 24 hours after the consultation on the bill ended, which suggests it was written before people’s views had been taken into account. He will, in effect, be given a licence to do whatever he wants.

Emails reveal Tony Perkins knew GOP lawmaker sexually assaulted teen but kept it quiet

Source: Raw Story

According to a report from the Washington Post, the head of the evangelical Family Research Council was alerted that a Ohio lawmaker sexually assaulted a teen in a hotel room over two years ago and never made the information public.

The report states that the Post obtained internal emails showing that Tony Perkins, in his capacity as the president of the Council for National Policy, was made aware that 31-year-old Wesley Goodman had fondled an 18-year-old college student following an event at the Ritz Carlton in Washington D.C.

Goodman, a Christian “family values” Republican lawmaker stepped down from his post under pressure two days ago after it was revealed that he had engaged in a same-sex tryst on his Ohio office.

It tells you a lot about a man that he will shut up to protect a sexual assaulter. Outrageous

President Pussburglar

I was just perusing Wonkette and this name for Trump was part of a headline.

Heheheh. President Pussburglar is just genius.

We of course have had many a splendid name for the man currently occupy the highest office in the land, but what is the best you can come up with or have heard?

The new Museum of the Bible tries really hard to be apolitical. But is that even possible?

The most surprising thing about the Museum of the Bible, the newest addition to the string of museums dotting downtown Washington, D.C., isn’t that it’s particularly controversial. It’s that it tries so hard not to be.

That’s not to say the museum, which officially dedicated on Friday, isn’t rife with potential pitfalls some visitors may find off-putting. To be sure, the specter of politicized evangelicalism has loomed large over coverage of the new attraction, primarily because it’s a product of entrepreneur and evangelical Christian David Green — the founder of craft store giant Hobby Lobby who is probably best known for the 2014 Supreme Court case Burwell v. Hobby Lobby. That court case, which allowed his company and other “closely-held corporations” to accrue religious exemptions from the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) contraception mandate, was celebrated by conservatives as a victory for “religious liberty” and derided by other people of faith as unfairly privileging right-wing religious groups, particularly conservatism Catholicism and evangelicalism.

Transgender people in US facing an 'epidemic of violence' as number of murders hit record high

Transgender people in the US are facing an “epidemic of violence”, as new reports reveal more murders and deaths of trans people have been recorded this year than ever before.

One report found at least 25 transgender people have been killed this year. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) said it had calculated 102 transgender people have been killed over the past five years. Another group, the National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programmes, has recorded 26 homicides for 2017.

“The epidemic of violence against transgender people is an urgent crisis that demands the nation’s immediate attention,” said HRC President Chad Griffin.

Trump invites Clinton to 'give it another try in three years'

Source: The Hill

President Trump on Saturday invited his former Democratic presidential rival to try again in 2020.

He attacked Hillary Clinton as “the worst (and biggest) loser of all time” in a tweet.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton is the worst (and biggest) loser of all time. She just can’t stop, which is so good for the Republican Party. Hillary, get on with your life and give it another try in three years!” Trump tweeted

Trump has said that he wants Clinton to run against him again in 2020, but she claims that her career “as an active politician” is “over.”

Where oh where has the gravitas gone?

Well-regulated militia wondering when all those gun owners are going to join it

The only well-regulated militia in the United States has issued a desperate call for members after discovering gun owners are oddly reluctant to join it.

Supporter of the constitution Simon-Bob Williams formed the militia and laid down strict regulations for members to follow so fellow patriots could follow the vision of the founding fathers, only to be disappointed when the expected flood of recruits failed to materialise.

Describing his regulations as ‘tough but fair’, Simon-Bob said that he expected members to maintain a decent level of physical fitness, be courteous at all times, and not let their children play with their guns.

“Right now it’s just me and my family,” he told us.

“And to be fair they’re only coming along because it’s dad-time and they’d never really see me otherwise.

“All those guys out there are really vocal about their constitutional rights, so where are they? I was hoping the local NRA chapter would all join on the spot, but when I called in they called me a freak and told me to get out.

Hehehe. Satire is always when it is as close as close can be to reality

US Military and CIA Leaders May Be Investigated for War Crimes

In what Amnesty International's Solomon Sacco called a "seminal moment for the ICC," Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda asked the court for authorization to commence an investigation that would focus on US military and CIA leaders, as well as Taliban and Afghan officials.

Bensouda wrote in a November 14, 2016, report that her preliminary examination revealed "a reasonable basis to believe" the "war crimes of torture and ill-treatment" had been committed "by US military forces deployed to Afghanistan and in secret detention facilities operated by the Central Intelligence Agency, principally in the 2003-2004 period, although allegedly continuing in some cases until 2014."

The chief prosecutor noted the alleged crimes by the CIA and US armed forces "were not the abuses of a few isolated individuals," but rather were "part of approved interrogation techniques in an attempt to extract 'actionable intelligence' from detainees." She added there was "reason to believe" that crimes were "committed in the furtherance of a policy or policies ... which would support US objectives in the conflict of Afghanistan."

Yes, we can halt the rise of the international far right

Every journalism school should show its students the video clip of the moment on Saturday when a chirpy Polish state television reporter asked a man decked out in red and white national colours what it meant to him to participate in a march celebrating Poland’s independence day. “It means,” replied the man, “to remove from power … Jewry!”

Since Poland is governed by the rightwing populist-nationalist Law and Justice party (PiS), the obvious next question is: who exactly do you have in mind as Jewry’s current representative in power? The PiS party leader, Jarosław Kaczyński? The prime minister, Beata Szydło, perhaps? Or do you mean someone who is in power elsewhere: Donald Trump or Theresa May

What we see here is something new. Whereas nationalists in the past tended to be, well, national, there is now an international network of far-right xenophobic activists. These thoroughly modern reactionaries make skilful use of social media to spread their insidious messages. A new report from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue shows that some of the most popular trending hashtags favouring the populist-nationalist Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) in the German election in September – including the seemingly benign #traudichdeutschland (“Trust yourself, Germany”) – were heavily and successfully promoted by far-right activists.
