The woman in the video, who Welch identified as an employee of Boone’s Camp Event Hall, told her that “we don’t do gay weddings or mixed race” weddings due to “our Christian belief.”
“Okay, we’re Christians as well,” Welch replied before asking, “So, what in the Bible tells you that?”
“Well, I don’t want to argue my faith,” the woman said.
Welch then asked the woman to clarify her reasoning.
“Okay. So that’s your Christian belief, right?,” Welch asked.
“Yes ma’am.”

All over the radio airwaves this weekend, idiots have been phoning into programmes with one chant. ‘It is the will of the people’ they cry as they support the burning down of democracy. ‘We voted to Brexit and the nasty people trying to stop us are mean’. To get their own way on Brexit it is very clear that these Brexiteers will literally destroy forever the current form of the oldest modern democracy on planet. They are trying to lock up the Mother of all Parliaments and throw away the key into a far right jungle of horror.
BUT this thing about the will of the people is complete bollocks.
Since when has a majority on important issues of national importance been right? I mean it happens occasionally – Ireland seems pretty good at this whole referendum thing – but in general history tells us that change generally happens in spite of the people not because of the will of the people.
Think about it:
If the Civil Rights Act had been put to referendum? Going to guess Jim Crow would still be alive and well.
If votes for women had been out to referendum? Going to guess that if we ladies were lucky, maybe those of us over 30 would now have the right to vote, 100 years later.
If gay marriage had been out to referendum? I think it would be tight, US no, UK maybe just yes…
You get my point, right? We vote in elections so that we have representatives to make decisions on our behalf. All of this bollocks about this one vote 3 years ago being the overriding ‘will of the people’. Just fucking ridiculous.
Hunker down chaps. The ‘will of the people’ is about to demonstrate how fucking stupid people can actually be…

Notorious RBG: I Feel Great And I Love My Job [VIDEO]
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said Saturday that she is on her way “to being very well” after receiving cancer treatment, adding that she will be prepared when the high court’s next term begins in October.
“This audience can see that I am alive. And I am on my way to being very well,” she said at the annual National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. Ginsburg said her job has kept her going each time she has faced cancer.
“I love my job. It is the best and hardest job that I ever had,” she said. “It has kept me going through four cancer bouts. Instead of concentrating on my aches and pains, I just know that I have to read this set of briefs.”

Spread the news far and wide, lets slam this one out of the park. Let us show DU how marvellous the talent is. All entries welcome as long as they stick to the theme. For those who may be unsure you do not have to be part of the Photography group to participate. If members of DU wish to participate but are unsure about the pesky rules that you will see below, contact me and I will be happy to help, or point you in the right direction if I do not know the answer.
In London, this has had the hottest day and the hottest bank holiday on record this summer... I know others have been feeling the effect of the swelter across all the places DU members live. Let's hope that while melting you had the opportunity to take some glorious images. I plan to close the contest at 0900 GMT on the 16th September. Which basically means for my lovely cousins across the pond you have until you go sleepy on the 15th to get your images up.
I will of course review the number of entries during the competition and potentially open up for a second entry. HOWEVER, I think it would be perfectly marvellous if we had enough individual entries to negate that as an option. So as I said up above, spread the news far and wide!!! Hurrah!

SEASONAL CONTEST RULES:
There are 4 Seasonal Contest. Each contest is scheduled to run at the end of each season so that those in the far north and far south have a chance to enter. Seasonal does not only mean weather, it includes things like seasonal holidays so be creative. If your winters are tropical or summers cool feel free to show the rest of us how bad (or good) we have it with your local version of the season.
Submissions Dates are
WINTER March 1st
SPRING June 1st
SUMMER September 1st
FALL December 1st
The winner of the seasonal contest agrees to host the next seasonal contest or recruit someone else to host the contest.
Only one entry per person. You need to post your entry in the submission thread started by the Host of the contest. Please be sure to include a "Title" for your photograph in the Subject line of your post. The submission thread is for photo entries only, no comments or questions. The Host will start a separate thread just for comments and/or questions.
The Host is allowed to enter the Seasonal Contest.
There will be no extra rules on the Seasonal Contest beyond keeping your entry no larger than 1024 pixels in its longest dimension and under 675K in file size and limit photo editing to a reasonable amount. We would prefer your photo look like a photograph instead of a digital design. If you aren’t sure, ask the group in a separate thread. You’ll get plenty of feedback to specific questions.
If you need help posting a photograph or with image sizing, just ask.
Submissions will be limited to 30 entries maximum unless the Photography Group votes to change the limits.
