About Me

I am a Brit. I am a working class child of the troubles in Belfast who now lives a life of privilege. I am an anti-racist, progressive monster for truth. If I fail in being that monster, call me out....

Such a catchy slogan for Nazi's

He is talking to literal Nazi's every time he flaps his gums with that slogan and he knows it.

Fox News guest may have set all-time record for crazy with rant about AOC's Green New Deal causing..

Katherine Timpf, a National Review reporter, launched into a passionate rant about Ocasio-Cortez on “The Greg Gutfeld Show.”

“AOC has completely lost her marbles,” Timpf argued. “I think she’s living in bananaland.”

Less than a minute later, she had escalated to the point where Ocasio-Cortez’s “bullsh*t” was resulting in cannibalism.

Good grief - although such an extrapolation smells of desperation - not a bad thing

''Sometimes I think no-one can actually be THAT stupid''

I do not think it possible to over estimate his stupidity. I am still bewildered that such a stupid man is president.

Nice try Mueller...

Heh. Funny in a very sad way

A very good friend of the United States!

Sad thing is you could see exactly that happening!

The test of democracy is in its protection of minority rights

The suffragette movement and the enfranchisement of women.

The Civil Rights Act and mobilisation of Black American political consciousness.

The legalisation of anal sex, a critical moment in the path to Gay Marriage.

What do all these things have in common? If put to a popular vote or referendum at the time none of the above would have passed muster. The majority would not have agreed that the minority should have access to equal rights.

And that is the true test of democracy. Democracy is not just majority rule. Democracy is also about recognising unfair treatment in all our communities. Democracy is about recognising that sometimes the majority is not right, and that the majority needs to be helped to keep pace with our ever-changing landscape.

If we do not protect the rights of the minority, what does that mean? Can you still be a democracy? I don’t think so. You can try but when the voice of the weakest is ignored because of the shouting of the loudest the strongest democratic principles break down.

Both the US and UK are at risk of further erosion of our democracies as the populist right actively works against the rights of minorities to consolidate and reinforce their nasty hateful platforms.

Arm the barricades of democracy, chaps!

Dear Liberals and Independents

The rest of the world is relying on you..... honestly. The stress of having Trump as President impacts nearly as much for your cousins as it does for you. I am too old to flee the city if war breaks out!!!!

Trump bizarrely boasts his privately-held Scotland golf course 'furthers U.K. relationship!'

President Donald Trump kicked off his Saturday morning by using his official Twitter account to promote his golf course in Scotland — before adding his ownership is a plus for U.K. relations.

Retweeting a link from his privately held Trump Organization boasting about the golf resort, Trump tweeted, “Very proud of perhaps the greatest golf course anywhere in the world. Also, furthers U.K. relationship!”

As a Brit I can confirm that this is complete bollocks... as evidenced last time Trump went to his Scottish golf course:

If you zoom in - one of the many great signs:

Yeah, it furthers our hatred of him.....do you think that counts?!!?!?!

Sometimes going back to the 20th Century is not a bad plan...

Florida GOPer Real Sorry He Called Pregnant Women 'Host Bodies'

Though Oliva describes himself as a "libertarian" who thinks people should be able to do what they want without government interference, he said he just wasn't so sure about reproductive rights and subsequently went on a bizarre rant in which he repeatedly referred to human women as "host bodies."

Yes, that's right, HOST BODIES.

"Well the challenge there is that there are two lives involved," he said. "So, where I believe that we should stay out of people's lives, I don't believe that people's lives should be taken. It's a complex issue because one has to think, well there's a host body and that host body has to have a certain amount of rights because at the end of the day it is that body that that carries this entire other body to term. But there is an additional life there."

"And the question that we have to ask ourselves is: What is the limit to which we are going to give one person complete power over the life of another?"
Host bodies. Host bodies.

He continued using the term for the duration of the interview

Good grief.... SERIOUSLY?
