MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Sunday he has tested positive for COVID-19 and that the symptoms are mild. Mexico's president, who has been criticized for his handling of his country's pandemic, said on his official Twitter account that he is under medical treatment.

López Obrador, 67, has long been criticized for not setting an example of prevention in public. He has rarely been seen wearing a mask and continued to keep up a busy travel schedule taking commercial flights. He has resisted locking down the economy, noting the devastating effect it would have on so many Mexicans who live day to day.

Early in the pandemic, asked how he was protecting Mexico, López Obrador removed two religious amulets from his wallet and proudly showed them off. “The protective shield is the ‘Get thee behind me, Satan,’” López Obrador said, reading off the inscription on the amulet, “Stop, enemy, for the Heart of Jesus is with me.

Mexico has registered nearly 150,000 COVID-19 deaths and more than 1.7 million infections. Hospitals in the capital have been near capacity for weeks as a surge of cases followed the holiday season.

Guy’s security camera catches kid tearing it up on his driveway almost every day, so he decides to do something about it.

Public plea: I’m trying to find the guy that has the driveway, and the kid. I’ve got NASCAR drivers who want to send them stuff! If you know who they are, please DM me.
UPDATE: All of you are amazing! Thanks to your input I’ve identified the guy in the video with the driveway. I’ve reached out to him directly, he wants to remain anonymous. One person found the driveway- it’s in Salt Lake City. Still looking for the kid, NASCAR has gifts for him!

As the world watched the breach of the U.S. Capitol in shock, many couldn’t help but wonder why the underwhelming police response to President Trump’s rioting supporters was so different from the massive show of force seen this summer at a Washington D.C. Black Lives Matter protest following the death of George Floyd. NBCLX’s Fernando Hurtado talked to Frank Straub, an expert in critical incident responses at the National Police Foundation, for a breakdown of the police reaction to both events.

The head of the U.S. Capitol Police will resign, effective next week, after Wednesday’s violent riot.

As the cleanup continues, D.C. police on Thursday posted the pictures of people of interest in Wednesday’s attack on the U.S. Capitol, hoping the public can help identify them. The Capitol Police later called the violence “criminal riotous behavior,” and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called the events “domestic terrorism.”

More than 90 people have been arrested so far, with more arrests likely.

Later Thursday afternoon, the head of the Capitol Police union also called on Sund to resign, saying the riot “should never have happened.” Gus Papathanasiou said in a statement that a lack of planning led to officers being exposed to violent protesters storming the Capitol and that officers lacked the backup and equipment needed to control rioters.

4 dead in attack

A woman identified as Ashli Babbitt, 35, of California, was killed by a Capitol Police officer in the building as people tried to force their way into the House chamber, Sund said in the statement.

Three others died of medical emergencies in the chaos. The D.C. police identified them as Rosanne Boyland, 34, of Kennesaw, Georgia; Kevin Greeson, 55, of Athens, Alabama; and Benjamin Philips, 50, of Ringtown, Pennsylvania.
