No, but I am now, LOL. Thanks!

The "enviro" in my moniker relates primarily to industrial air pollution control.

That's a very interesting story (I just read the Wiki on it) and just like many other sites in KY (coal mines, Ft. Knox, power plants, etc.), we'll be paying for them for centuries! I don't trust KY or the EPA (now!) to properly monitor and/or remediate that site.

Many extremely nasty and dangerous hazardous sites in the US are kept carefully hidden and behind secure fences. Unfortunately, fences do not stop the flow of water run-off, leaching into water tables, and wind-blown hazardous particulates.

Awareness and education is key right now.

Although it has little or no chance now, we all need to keep this issue in the spotlight as much as possible. At this time, I believe a very small percentage of the public understand single payer.

If the general public becomes well informed on the advantages of single payer and on why it's opposed by the insurance industry, it should eventually win.

There's been a shift in how people process things they hear.

I've noticed a trend over the last several years where increasingly, many folks seem to hear things with a bias of suspicion. In other words, their brains seem to ask "how can this harm me" when hearing statements directed to them. I'm stating that because of the reactions I get from people, who many times respond to seemingly innocuous comments with a harsh or "upside down" reaction.

Previously, I would notice that sort of response only from people who had reason to be highly suspicious - say, those who had been in abusive relationship or abused as a child, or someone that had been in prison.

I think we have a lot of work to do toward rehabilitating our collecting mode of thinking about one another. If we don't work toward restoring trust in our fellow man, then we may be doomed to anarchy, or the other end of the spectrum - a dictatorship.

Trump does not care.

Unless one of his properties is affected. I don't think he has an ounce of sympathy or empathy in him.

I've thought all along that he has some feeder minions that create his Tweets that show compassion, but only when it's politically expedient. Trump just hits the "send" button.

I also have the same suspicion about his other Tweets. Far too many of them just don't seem to fit what typically comes out of his brain. They may even have subcontracted his Tweet creation to the Heritage Foundation or some secret group at Faux News.

Horrific fire and I hope we find the Feds are supporting it 100%.

Yes!

And, their ultimate objective is to gain total control of government, hence all the levers of power. They live with this pipe dream that if all their ideas are implemented, the nation will be perfect again, everyone will have a job and be perfectly content and happy.

I'm convinced most of the Republicans in power are psychopaths and are therefore not able to see or recognize reality. They live in a carefully crafted bubble with it's own news and cultural media (essentially a nation within a nation). They are funded by billionaires that only care about business profits.

The thing that makes me ill is that I can't see any way this process can be reversed that is within the power of the working body politic.

So...

you're suggesting they don't have a legal obligation to send notice to those being purged? Seems downright immoral, if not illegal to me. Also, do you happen to know the justifications for purging most of these voters?

The very thought that they are willing to blindly disenfranchise a lot of these folks just to rid them of a few bad apples seems horribly wrong.

I'm bugging you partly because it could happen in my state, too!

Destroyed? Well, maybe except for...

small children and animals, LOL.

My biggest concern in our country is the systematic sowing of division by the Republican party starting back in the 60s (within my memory) beginning with Nixon/Agnew, using a massive 24/7 campaign of lies and deceptions in our media. They have progressively done this to us non-stop with no moral reservation and even have the gall to blame Democrats.

I'm convinced there is a method to this madness and they have it perfected.

Trump has just simply put the process in overdrive. I call their method Divide, Demean, Deceive, Dumb-down and Destroy.

Question:

Are these purged voters notified in any way that they are no longer registered?

At least in this case, anyone that finds out has a month to fix it. Republicans are notorious for executing purges at the last minute before elections.
