* First, don't freak out. This is a right wing judge. No surprise. There will be appeals.
* Next, CONTROL THE MESSAGE!! Superglue this to Trump and the mega-corrupt GOP CORRUPT CORPORATE CULT! Because the majority supports the ACA.
* Organize, Organize, Organize and VOTE THE GOP CULT OUT in 2019 (there will be some elections) and especially in 2020.
This is what happens when people don't get off their asses and VOTE. Because when these SCUMBAG right wingers get into office they appoint right wing judges, gerrymander election districts, and on and on.
ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES!! We made real progress last month in the elections, but we have much more to do.
So, tell folks that if they want to have healthcare, clean air and water, decent wages, etc. then VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS AND NOT REPUBLICANS. VOTE THE SCUMBAGS OUT!
PS: Um, Medicare for All WILL NOT PASS now, very obviously. Don't waste energy and time on that. Focus on CRUSHING the TRUMP CULT in 2019 and 2020.

SEE VIDEO: Start at 4 minutes in.
The Republican Party IS indeed a cult. It's dead and gone.
Our job is to focus on the bread and butter issues, starting with healthcare, which got us elected. And CONTROL THE MESSAGE. Frame the R's as "The Trump Cult" that is totally beholden to Trump, the rich, and the powerful, and who say 'to hell with everyone else.' They are totally corrupt and unable to govern."
We should do smart oversight, but we must NOT go down the rabbit hold of a rush to impeachment unless the Mueller investigation reveals very serious legal violations that will finally move some R's in the House and Senate to support it, and only if the public will support it too. We need to prove we can GOVERN and do what the large majority of Americans want. The American people want THEIR needs taken care of.
And Pelosi and Schumer have the experience and discipline and this is what they plan to do.
If we do our job on healthcare and the economy, rule the message and agenda on those, and define Trump and the Republicans, then we can wipe them off the map in 2020.

Avenatti was totally correct. Time and again he said "This is going to end very badly for Michael Cohen and Donald Trump."
Spot on.

#1 - First Wave: Election Night 2017. Swept VA and NJ Gov. Races, VA State Offices Races, VA State Legislature Races, NYC Mayor, Progressive Referendums All Over The Country, and other State and Local Races All Over the Country
#2 - All Kinds of Special Elections Especially for State Level Legislative Races
#3 - Election Night 2018. Flipped About 40 US House Seats, 7 Governorships, 6 Full Legislatures, and Tons of Other State and Local Races and Progressive Referendums
Let's have two more in 2019 and 2020. In 2019 there will be some state and local races and referendum elections. And in 2020 let's take the Senate and the White House and make the RePUKEliCons a permanent fixture in the dustbin of history which is right where they belong.

This is the best of America. My goodness!

This is America at its best! CHECK IT OUT!

Good for Avenatti. He proclaimed innocence and obviously had evidence (as I understand it video evidence) disproving the allegations.
Al Franken should have received justice too. He did not. It was a huge injustice and never should have happened.
There is no place for abuse and illegal behavior on anyone's part. And there is also no place for false accusations, hysteria, hype, railroading, and denial of due process. Period.

I see many posts here about "The House Dems must now do..." or "The first law the House Dems need to pass is..."
Don't forget, the House can't pass diddly shit without the ok of the R-Senate and Trump.
What they CAN do is put forward legislation that is VERY popular, push it like hell in front of the public, and try to pressure the other side
to pass it and put them on the record being for or against it. For example, the first order of business is going to be a bill to strengthen the protections for pre-existing conditions. I anticipate they will push it LOUDLY and put the R's on the CLEAR record. Yes or No. That is what they are going to do. The same with jobs, tax fairness, climate change, campaign reform, education, and infrastructure.
They will TRY to pass things, but they can't without the other chamber and Trump being onboard. (Incarceration reform and infrastructure may be a possibility, and comprehensive immigration reform.)
On oversight of Trump, they can do a lot independently.
They can also block bad bills put out by Trump and the Senate R's.

My understanding is Pelosi has already hinted at being willing to agree to a self-imposed "term limit" of one more two-year term, and then would not run again for Speaker. She is a good negotiator and is also reaching out to the various sub-caucuses such as the further-left caucus guaranteeing them key committee reps, perhaps a special climate change group, etc. She has already spoken to Fudge. I am sure she will be talking to Ryan, Moulton, etc.
My guess is they come to this understanding: Pelosi will be Speaker for another two-year term which makes some sense given a need for experience in this transition and the Trump era. Then she will step aside after the 2020 election and not run again. In fact, she may retire entirely from Congress as she has been in for so long. My guess is a similar thing will also happen with Steny Hoyer.
I think this possibility allows for a very good way forward. We need the experience now, but let's get some other people mentored up and have a change in a few years. It will be time. Those who need to can vote "present," and we can also make some additional change NOW through committee assignments that will be welcomed by those want a leadership change. Then we close ranks and head to 2020, with a strong focus on the bread and butter issues that we need to focus on.
I will say that Pelosi had a VERY good post-election speech where she committed to focusing like hell on the bread and butter issues that Dems were elected to focus on. And she is also even-keeled and won't go on a reckless investigation and impeachment rampage. She will proceed cautiously and smartly given the evidence of the Mueller investigation. But she will also make sure oversight and checks and balances occur.
It is certainly time to consider leadership changes in the relatively near future, within a few years. No question. But for now we also need experience. This makes sense.
