I do believe that if you want to contain NK you must give Kim a chance to be treated as a respected leader of a sovereign nation. These beasts are all alike and that included 45. They want to be respected, admired, and appear strong. It gets us nothing to do otherwise. We made this mistake (on purpose) with Saddam. Saddam asked for negotiations and we refused because we wanted a reason to invade and kill him. Saddam wanted a seat at the table of nations and he was rebuked for PNAC motives.

We are foolish to allow this to happen again with someone far less stable than Saddam. Let the two mad men meet, and make a deal and be heralded as heroes to their respective countrymen. If it means preventing a very dangerous and costly confrontation it would be worth it.
