Introducing myself

I am 65 yrs. young. Married to a Trump supporter which causes no end of grief for me. I have 3 adult kids, 6 grandkids ranging from 3 yrs. old to 24. Only one granddaughter, the rest all rambunctious boys. I am a sculptor, work in pastel as well, but have been fighting 3 auto-immune disorders so that limits my energy on my art. I used to be a Master Gardener, and still do some gardening around the yard but not like I used to. This year my goal is to do veggies. We live in a house built in 1914 and still doing repairs and some remodeling as we can afford to do so.

I have always been a Democrat like my dad who was a union laborer all his life. I have voted in every election since I was 18. One year, I threw my vote away by writing my dad's name in. When I told him I was going to do that, and my brother agreed to do the same, my dad laughed thinking we were joking. After that election, he asked us who we voted for, and we both said "You, we wrote your name in" He said "naw, you didn't." I said "Yes I did, you'd do a better job than the yahoo's running" He was a smart guy, down to earth, loved nature more than anyone I've ever known, grew up in a log cabin with dirt floor, no running water or electricity. He grew up calling his parents by their first names, never got spanked or hit by his parents, had no real toys, but was allowed to run around in the woods all he wanted with his brother. He wanted us kids to experience some of those things when we were growing up. My high school friends all thought he looked like Dick Van Dyke and had crushes on him. I didn't see the resemblance, but he did act like Van Dyke in his humor. BTW, I'll never throw my vote away again, Dad really didn't approve of that. I miss him a lot.
