The day(s) we launched the Voyagers should be celebrated as a holiday, as should the birthdays of Galileo, Isaac Newton, and the moon landing, among others. Maybe someday holidays like these that honor science, human progress, and reality will replace the worthless religious festivals of ignorance and superstition we have today that keep billions enslaved to the cults of death.

With thanks to Robin Williams, from the movie "Good Morning Vietnam."

That's what con men do if you listen, goddammit. They tell you exactly what the scam is, if only you would listen. The next step is, you have to be willing to believe, but no one does because it just strains your credibility too much. The first time bloodsucker talked about the election being rigged AGAINST HIM was the tip-off.
Just wait. You haven't seen anything yet.

to assume the protection of the assumption of innocence until proven guilty. Good for us.

I think that's the primary cause, although like everything else, there are many complex factors that contribute to overall stupidity of a society. To your point, there was once a time when we were called "citizens" rather than "consumers." As Howard Beale said In the movie Network (1976) "Just give us our toasters and steel belted radials and leave us alone."
The lack of education is appalling. I know people who can't find Canada on a map, let alone know anything about their local government or this country. The excuse is that they have bills to pay, so they don't need the arts, science, music, philosophy, history...I once found myself in a discussion where the other participants insisted that Iran was in Africa. Much like today's embrace of alternative facts and maintaining that it doesn't matter if the re-tweets of hate videos are real or not, ala Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who undoubtedly knows better.
Of course, the other primary driver of idiocy and ignorance is religion. When fundamentalists posit that dinosaurs and humans lived together, you know that when they watch The Flintstones they think it's a documentary.
This is what happens when objective truth is made relative.

eliminate the deductions for teachers who spend their own money for school supplies, and let private aircraft owners take larger deductions?
It's not a tax bill, it's a social engineering bill.
|
President pus-bag only wanted everyone to think that, so the prick AG could continue unimpeded with his destruction of civil liberties. Two pathological liars joined at the hip.

I think that's where a lot of their fascist drool comes from. The Attorney General has no business criticizing a jury verdict in his official capacity, let alone using it to further his agenda of hate. Of course, tomorrow he won't be able to recall that he did.

Credit accounts for fetuses.
Repeal of the law prohibiting churches from political activity.
Special deductions for owners of airplanes.
Who knows what else, since no one can read the thing. (It's a secret)

It's hilarious in a very depressing way -- there's almost no one there. i don't do Twitter, so I hope someone her finds the pic and posts it.
