Hurricane Harvey-Related Diseases Have Increased, Health Officials Warn

It's not just PR. Newsweek article.

Among Dr. Shah’s concerns is the recent uptick in floodwater-related illnesses such as respiratory disease, skin infections, and gastrointestinal (GI) infections.

“The [water] contains sewage. It contains runoff from who knows what,” Dr. James McDeavitt, dean of clinical affairs at Baylor College of Medicine, told ABC News.

And this one from Verge: Toxic waste seeps from a Houston Superfund site after Harvey's floods: https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/29/16385568/hurricane-harvey-superfund-site-houston-dioxin-cancer-chemicals

Hurricane Harvey’s unprecedented rains and flooding last month caused a leak from a heavily polluted site along the San Jacinto River east of Houston, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Some of the highly toxic chemicals found include dioxins; they’re known to cause reproductive and developmental problems, damage the immune system, and cause cancer, according to the World Health Organization. A sediment sample at the site showed dioxins at 70,000 ng/kg — orders of magnitude higher than the recommended level at the site, which is 30 ng/kg. That’s already trouble, but it gets worse: Certain types of dioxins can be very hard to dispose of, increasing the risks of contamination. The dioxin in the Superfund site waste doesn’t dissolve easily in water, but it can seep into the surrounding sediments, the EPA says.

This is NOT the time to be playing golf or tweeting incendiary comments. This lackadaisical attitude is going to kill hundreds if not thousands of people before the year is out.

Jimi Hendrix Interview with Dick Cavett Regarding the National Anthem

It's not unorthodox. It's beautiful.

And now, 48 years later, we NEED another Hendrix!

Damnit All! Not Even Hockey Is Safe from Dotard!

Here I was all set to boycott (actually continue my boycott) of football and rely solely on hockey, and here comes a tweet blasting that idea out of the water.

Also, notice he now has a blind spot for the letter "D". Wonder why Dotard would have that problem.

When I Get Raptured, Who Will Take Care of My Dogs?

Now I'm beginning to worry! They are laying down at my feet, confident in the knowledge that I am there to take care of them. I'm a good dog owner, but who will take them when I'm gone? Anyone left behind will be a bad person and, therefore, a bad dog owner. If only I could believe in a doggie Heaven, I would be less anxious. But then, are my dogs good enough to make it into doggie Heaven? Does someone know if doggie rapture is today as well? Who schedules all the different raptures? I NEED ANSWERS!!!

What annoys me the most

It will be the way the GOP handles healthcare that will eventually change their supporters' minds.

Not the fact that the GOP are all in bed with Russia.
Not the fact that Russia helped the GOP cheat and flip election results.
Not the fact that tRump's only goal in being prezident was to steal as much as he could.
Not the fact that the GOP was complicit in letting tRump get away with countless impeachable offenses.

It will take people dying for them to figure it out (and even then some of them will be so nasty as to refuse to acknowledge how wrong they were).

This just goes to prove that it doesn't matter who is governing them. They are quite happy living in a plutocratic fascist dictatorship, so long as they are not actually dying because of it. In fact, it's wonderful that they are now free to be as racist and angry as they have always wanted to be.

Serious question: If Manafort "accidentally" falls on a bullet

How does that affect Mueller's investigation? Remember Denis Voronenkov who had a similar "accident" a couple months ago when he was going to squeal on Manafort? I refuse to put it past them to take out the man himself, and I think this is the reason behind his not having flipped yet. But the question remains, Does Mueller actually need Manafort to give testimony, or would his testimony just expedite the process?

Edit: I'm not trying to promote a conspiracy theory. My concern in asking this is to find out if Mueller really needs Manafort as a live witness. I have no idea what having a live witness versus only documents means in a case like this.

Stop Calling Them rEpublicans: End Their Narrative

They are Russian agents, Russian enablers, and enemies of America. They are NOT a legitimate second party. Do not feed that narrative. They are not legislating to help their fellow Americans. Do NOT feed that narrative.

If anyone tells you they are a "Never tRump Republican" remind them that every damned Republican in congress is aiding and abetting tRump and Russia's hostile takeover of our country. Tell them that they are either Dem or part of the problem. This has gone on long enough for everyone to get the hint. There can be no more ambiguity about where allegiances lie.

I Agree With tRump!

At least on this one:

Loser terrorists must be dealt with in a much tougher manner. The internet is their main recruitment tool which we must cut off & use better!

Cut off internet access to the biggest terrorist of them all, Donnie Judas tRump.

He's Tweeting About Crooked HRC Again

Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss. She lost the debates and lost her direction!

Someone must have given him the Cliff Notes to her book.

Senate to Form Committee on Pornography

In response to news about Senator Ted Cruz watching pornographic videos on his cell phone, the Senate will be forming a new committee to explore the effects that viewing pornography might have on congress people's job performance. The committee will be comprised entirely of lonely Republican men as no Democrats expressed interest in joining the committee. The committee tasks itself with finding answers to several questions:

1. Does the portability of a cell phone outweigh the image quality found on an large desk top monitor?
2. If an aide asks to borrow your cell phone, is there policy in place that prohibits him or her from using your phone to view pornography?
3. Is it suitable for a Republican senator to view pornography when the one or all of the actors involved are known to be Democrats?
4. Is it suitable for any senator to view pornography when one of the actors involved is the FLOTUS?

Committee chairperson Chuck Grassley has already issued a request that any and all pornography in Senator Cruz's possession be immediately turned over for the committee's perusal. "If he refuses to comply [with this request]" said Senator Grassley, "I am eagerly waiting with my subpoena pen in hand." Minority leader, Chuck Schumer responded to the news of the committee by stating, "With their focus elsewhere, now will be a good time to push our own, Democratic agenda."
