A personal definition of liberalism.
Trying to define, in a nutshell, what it means to me to be a liberal. This works:
Liberalism is the desire to live in a society where one is surrounded by decent people of good will.
Really, isn't every manifestation of illiberality basically someone trying to stick it to you in some way?
Time to issue honorary Darwin Awards to everyone who dies while willfully unvaxxed.
I say "honorary" because, technically, if you've already reproduced, you're ineligible.

Maybe we should create a new class of officials. We could call them Protectors.
It should be crystal clear that their first priority is to protect citizens and that they sometimes have to place themselves at some risk to do that. Those are the terms of the job. If anyone thinks those terms are unreasonable, don't take the job.
