Telecom industry bought votes

Look up your republican congresscritters and see how much they took in contributions from the telecom industry. As far as I know, they all voted to allow the sale of your browsing history.

Resistance Report

Indivisibles, ProgressNow, ACLU fill Pearce townhall

Rep. Steve Pearce (R-NM-02) Held a townhall meeting in Las Cruces on Saturday, March 18. Although Pearce's press release claimed he invited Indivisible leaders, it was actually pressure from Indivisible and other groups that persuaded him to hold the meeting. Local Indivisible leader Tony Martinez opened the meeting and introduced Pearce. Nearly 600 people attended, and trump/Pearce supporters were outnumbered by about 10-1. One individual who claimed that protestors were paid by Planned Parenthood and other groups was drowned out by the crowd.

I will give Pearce credit for a couple of things; he did respond to constituent demands for a meeting, he did stay the full scheduled 2 hours plus, despite the intensity of the questions and the loud audience. However, he gave many vague answers, changed the subject several times, and in one case claimed the ACA has collapsed and told constituent that he’d just have to live until he could get on Medicare. Pretty snotty. He said he "leaned no" on trumpcare. He said the wall would be a waste of money and would not improve security, that he "almost always" voted against it, then hedged by saying that if it were included in another important bill...

Although he was evasive and controlled the mike, he definitely heard from his constituents, and clarified a few things.
He feels he was elected on the basis of his own views and agenda and is not obligated to pay attention to input from staff or constituents.
Clarified somewhat his stand on the disposal of public lands: put public lands into private hands so they can be taxed to finance schools. (I'm sure desert and scrub forest is going to generate lots of tax revenue.)
Believes term limits give more power to the ‘unelected’ bureaucracy and staffers. Also results in loss of “corporate knowledge”. (Huh?)
Regarding trump's tax info: “he is elected president”, so not important and would cause tremendous disruption. “Trump will do what he wants.”
Impeachment would be a distraction.

So that's a summary. He also promised more town hall meetings in the future, and one questioner invited him to Silver City.
A member of Black Range Indivisible compiled a table of the questions and answers. If you're interested, message me through this site and I'll forward it.

Breitbart & Fox links in whitehouse.gov emails

This is an excerpt from something called "Your Daily 1600". Is that a new term for taking a dump?

White House wants your input - but only if you agree with them

Received this from whitehouse.gov. In addition to the usual barf, there are links to support the destruction of the ACA. Apparently they did pay attention to their previous surveys and now no longer offer multiple choices or comment options. It's just "add your name to agree". Sort of like a Soviet election.

It’s been seven years since Obamacare was passed, and now, more than ever, we are seeing the harmful effects of this disastrous law.

Obamacare has led to higher costs and fewer health insurance options for millions of hard-working Americans. Independent analysis found 41 states faced higher average healthcare deductibles last year, with 17 states facing double-digit rate increases. Nearly one in five Americans have only one insurer offering Obamacare exchange plans.

In just the past year, Obamacare premiums have increased by 25 percent on the typical plan and coverage choices have dropped by 28 percent as insurers have left the market.

Things are only getting worse. This past year, nearly 20 million American citizens opted not to get healthcare insurance, with 6.5 million paying the penalty and millions more asking for a hardship exemption from the penalty.

Support Repeal and Replacement of Obamacare

Americans were promised that Obamacare would bring down healthcare costs -- that promise was broken. Americans were promised they could keep their healthcare plans under Obamacare – that promise was broken. Americans were promised that Obamacare would not raise taxes on the middle-class – that promise was broken.

The American people want change and President Donald J. Trump promised to repeal and replace this disaster. That is exactly what the President is working with Congress to achieve. Step up and support the repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

'Do You Agree that the Media is an 'Enemy of the American People?' Pai Refuses to answer

Press release from the office of Senator Tom Udall (D-NM)
WASHINGTON — Today, during a hearing of the Senate Commerce Committee, U.S. Senator Tom Udall questioned Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai about how he intends to lead the FCC given President Trump's attacks on the free press, including specific media organizations that are subject to FCC regulation.

"President Trump is using bully tactics to try to intimidate the media. He has even declared certain media outlets 'the enemy of the American people.' His press secretary, Sean Spicer, took the unusual step of barring some journalists from attending his daily press briefing." Udall said during the hearing. "Chairman Pai, many news organizations or their parent companies have business dealings with the FCC, from regulatory matters to potential merger reviews...Do you agree with President Trump that the media is 'the enemy of the American people?' ... Will the FCC operate independently of the White House?... Will you resist any attempt by the White House to use the FCC to intimidate news organizations?"

Saying that he did not "want to wade into the larger political debates," Pai declined to answer whether he agrees with Trump's tweet calling the media the enemy. And Pai went on to decline to disclose whether he discussed any specific media organizations with President Trump during two recent meetings. "I can't comment on the conversations I've had with the president," Pai said.

Another huuuge trump rally

Saturday, March 4, Silver City, New Mexico.

According to the Grant County Beat, a total of 50-55 people came out in support of trump. Incongruously, some held signs touting equality and religious freedom. Haven’t they been paying attention?

On the same day, over 300 people, mostly Indivisible members, attended a town hall meeting in Ruidoso to discuss issues with republican representative Steve Pearce. www.democraticunderground.com/...

The previous week, over 100 people demonstrated in Silver City to demand Pearce hold a town hall meeting.

New Mexico republican party praises t's speech (of course)

These people seem to think trump shits ice cream and they're all making sundaes.

Press Release:

Albuquerque, NM – Today, the Republican Party of New Mexico released the following statement on President Donald Trump's first address to a joint session of the United States Congress:

"Last night, President Donald Trump laid out to the American people and their representatives in Congress a thoughtful, bold legislative vision that should transcend partisanship," said Republican Party of New Mexico Spokesman Tucker Keene. "In his first 40 days, President Trump has already delivered on many of his biggest campaign promises, from bringing jobs back to our country, nominating a conservative to the Supreme Court, and putting our national security first. In last night's speech, Trump expanded upon his plan to vigorously pursue a legislative agenda that will put America first, address the critical issues facing our nation's citizens, and strengthen our economy. It is our sincere hope that Democrats will work with President Trump to address the problems facing our state and our country and work to make America great again."

Most New Mexicans, however, hope that Democrats will block anything and everything excreted by trump and the "party of trump".
