CNN: Impeachment article to be sent to Senate on Monday

So i just heard on CNN Jamie Gangel reported that there is an underground pro-conviction campaign composed of donors and GOP Congress members and staffers, that they want to take back their party, and that Mcconnel wants to rid the party of the Con.
There was also mention there's alot of pessimism within their party.
Will be interesting to see how things will play out. I hope they fracture & go the way of the Whigs

Dubya's swaying during the UNITY clip

Anybody noticed while the three former presidents are having this serious discussion about unity - dang guy sways back and forth with his hands in his pocket like a giddy teenager who didn't know what to do with himself, as if to imply that he's in awe of the other 2 (extremely capable leaders) and way out of their league?

Joy Reid: Inaugural celebration was everything the GOP hates, and envies, about the left

Joy nails it spot on in this one sentence: Democrats have CULTURE. The right want the culture more than the politics, but they don't have it.

Also love the fact she was BEAMING throughout the entire coverage yesterday i thought the woman was going to turn into a high wattage lightbulb

Really enjoyed MSNBC's coverage of the entire thing. Kudos to Rachel, Nicole & Joy - love watching all their shows

So about that wall, & the 10B funding the Con stole from the DoD to pay for it

1. How much 'new wall' Trump has built is up for debate
2. Most of the wall isn't 'wall' at all
3. How it's being paid for remains controversial
4. Illegal crossings appear to have fallen this year
5. A key migrant camp is emptying
6. The barrier is unlikely to stop most kinds of drugs coming into the US

Not sure what happened but my message was truncated. Anyhow, that 10B can now be used to pay for vaccines or food aid for struggling families impacted by the pandemic. Alot of work ahead to clean this up for Biden/Harris admin.

LADIES: Wear your pearls tomorrow to mark this historic inauguration of our First Madam VEEP

Kamala Harris Has Always Worn Pearls. Now, in Sisterhood, So Will They.

Women across the country are pledging to wear pearls on Inauguration Day to support the country’s first female Vice President-elect.
"Sandra Broome-Edwards, 67, has worn pearls every day since early January.
“I’ve been sitting at home watching ‘Good Morning America’ with my pearls on,” she said. “It’s my way of acknowledging the momentous occasion that is coming.”

Ms. Broome-Edwards is one of over 430,000 women who are members of a Facebook group called “Wear Pearls on Jan 20 2021.” The idea is to honor Kamala Harris, the country’s first female Vice President-elect, who wore her signature pearls when she graduated Howard University, was sworn into Congress, grilled Brett Kavanaugh, debated Vice President Mike Pence, as she received her Covid-19 vaccine and, it’s likely, again when she is sworn on Wednesday."

I will wear my pearls tomorrow in honor of Madam Vice President Kamala Harris. If i had chucks i'd wear them too

Ahem ahem...Stacey's bringing Fair Fight to Texas

RELEASE: The Texas Democratic Party Announces Partnership with Fair Fight Action to Build the Largest Voter Protection Program in Texas History

"Austin, TX — Today, the Texas Democratic Party announced the details of our new innovative Voter Protection program in partnership with Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight Action. The program will be the largest in Texas history and make it easier—not harder—for Texans to vote.

Texas Republicans have made it harder to vote at every turn, by implementing restrictive voting policies such as voter ID restrictions, shortening the days of early voting, closing polling locations, and attempting to purge lawful Texans from the voting rolls. Texas Democrats are already fighting back. In addition to filing three separate lawsuits fighting back against various Republican attempts to make it harder for Texans to vote, this month the Texas Democratic Party launched our voter assistance hotline 1-844-TX-VOTES.

Now, with the help of Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight Action, the Texas Democratic Party is taking our voter protection efforts even further. In partnership with Fair Fight Action, the Texas Democratic Party’s new, groundbreaking voter protection program will include:..."

More detail on the article. This was released on Jan 6 so not sure if this has already been posted.
Great news for Texan Dems nonetheless

Parler's CEO fled his home and went into hiding after receiving death threats and security breaches

Parler CEO John Matze Jr. fled his home receiving death threats, a lawyer for Matze said in a court filing on Friday.
The attorney, David Groesbeck, wrote in the document that Matze had to "go into hiding with his family after receiving death threats and invasive personal security breaches." The filing was part of Parler's antitrust lawsuit against Amazon Web Services to put the platform back online. The current filing aimed to seal parts of the suit filed as a safety measure.

The MAGA terrorists are directing their ire on everyone it seems.

Jos Andrs delivers meals to National Guard troops protecting DC

Why, of course it would be Chef Andres to step up for our troops! He is an angel and Biden should award him some great award and have him head up some great relief effort during this covid period.

HuffPost: Feeling Betrayed, Far-Right Extremists Have A New Message For Trump: 'Get Out Of Our Way'

In online havens for MAGA extremists, including Gab, CloutHub, MeWe, Telegram and far-right message boards such as 8kun, the tone toward Trump is shifting. HuffPost reviewed thousands of messages across these platforms and found that a growing minority of the president’s once-devout backers are now denouncing him and rejecting his recent pleas for peace. Some have called for his arrest or execution, labeling him a “traitor” and a “coward.” Alarmingly, many of those who are irate about Biden’s supposed electoral theft are still plotting to forcibly prevent him from taking office — with or without Trump’s help.
“We don’t follow you,” another Telegram user wrote, addressing Trump, after the president put out his video urging calm and order. “Be quiet and get out of our way.”

It has become apparent that now — after his mass radicalization campaign of voter-fraud disinformation and conspiracy-mongering — even Trump can’t stop the dangerous delusion he’s instilled across the country, or the next wave of violence it may soon bring...
It seems that even the Proud Boys are losing faith in Trump: A Telegram channel run by the group reposted a message with Trump’s video along with the text “The Betrayal of Trumpist base by Trump himself continues.”

Now that Trump himself appears to finally be backing away from his “Stop the Steal” hoax, a growing faction of his supporters is through with him, too.
With so much at stake and no sane hope of clinging to power, it’s now in the president’s best interest for his base to avoid further violence, which could increase his chances of conviction. But the reality is that the monster Trump created doesn’t need him anymore. “He can promise and call for peace all he likes,” one Gab user wrote. “Won’t make a blind bit of difference.”

Pelosi announces retired lieut general to lead review of 'security infrastructure' after attack

(CNN)House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Friday announced that retired Lt. General Russel Honoré will lead a review of the "security infrastructure" of Capitol Hill, following a violent riot that left five people dead earlier this month.

"To protect our Democracy, we must now subject the security of the U.S. Capitol Complex to rigorous scrutiny," Pelosi said in a statement. "To that end, I have asked Lt. General Russel Honoré (Ret.), a respected leader with experience dealing with crises, to lead an immediate review of the Capitol's security infrastructure, interagency processes and procedures, and command and control."

Bravo Madam Speaker! Glad we now have General Honore to shore up the Capitol!
