Drain The Swamp board game - on Amazon

"Laugh your ass off and test your knowledge of the lunacy that abounds in our American political landscape. Get out your anger and angst while having “bigly” fun with family and friends. You will be challenged to answer questions of varying difficulty to score points. And as you wade into the Swamp you must find a way to separate the humor from the truth. Good luck! “This is the greatest game in the history of games! You’re gonna win so much you’ll get tired of winning!” Contents: Swamp Deck and Swamp Master Deck - over 200 questions!"

Folks, i just found this board game on Amazon while looking for board games to play with our young adult children. A clever and brilliant idea. This should be a hit at our house. Let me know if any of you have ordered it and how you like it.

8 numbers out of Alabama that should terrify Republicans

1. Moore won only among old(er) voters
2. Moms walked away from Moore
3. Moderates fell for Jones
4. Trump approval was blah
5. Jones played Moore to a draw on values
6. The Democratic Party is more popular than the Republican party
7. Republicans are increasingly only a rural party
8. Black voters are incredibly energized

"Terrify" is a bit of a stretch but these are good indicators the party of Lincoln is no longer the party of the people.

Governors, mayors & ballot measure races today - What To Watch In Tuesday's Elections Across Country

"The marquee races of 2017 are in Virginia and New Jersey where term limits mean that voters are picking new governors. While both races may have begun with an emphasis on statewide issues such as property taxes and education policy, in the closing weeks both have morphed into the latest test of President Trump's influence down the ballot. While Murphy is highly favored to win in New Jersey, the contest between Gillespie and Northam has grown increasingly narrow. The outcome in Virginia could play a big role in shaping each party's message in the 2018 midterms. For Republicans, a victory by Gillespie could encourage congressional GOP candidates to fully embrace Trump's style of populism next year. Should Northam prevail, it could quell the ongoing debate in Democratic ranks about the extent to which the party should nominate more liberal versus centrist candidates.

While odd-year elections aren't typically the venue for major ballot initiatives, there are a couple that bear watching on Tuesday.
Maine: Voters are being presented with the opportunity to bypass Republican Gov. Paul LePage's veto pen and approve an expansion of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. If the measure succeeds, Maine would be the first time a state has expanded Medicaid via a referendum and could energize organizers of similar campaigns for 2018 across the country, including in Utah and Alaska.
Ohio: Voters will weigh in on whether the state and its agencies should pay the same or lower prices for prescription drugs as the Veterans Affairs medical system. It's being described as the state's most expensive ballot measure with the pharmaceutical industry spending nearly $60 million to defeat it.
New York: With many Americans genuinely unhappy with the direction of the country, a ballot measure in New York state could indicate how much desire there is to blow up the political system and start all over. As part of the state's constitution, New York voters get to decide every 20 years whether the state should hold a constitutional convention to rewrite or amend the state's constitution.

Among the other big cities with mayoral races on the ballot are Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Seattle and Charlotte, N.C.

If anyone has any news/status of the races going on today please do share. I'm so nervous i'm about to pop out of my skin the same way as on Nov. 8 last year

NY Mag: Preet Bharara Is Now in the Trump-Opposition Business

Bharara can discern, perhaps as well as anyone now speaking publicly, where the mystery plot may be headed. But listeners tuning into his show for dramatic revelations are likely to be disappointed; Bharara is stubbornly resistant to allowing the show to become, as he puts it, “too Trump.” His first few shows featured friendly retrospective interviews with Democrats in exile, like Leon Panetta, the former White House chief of staff and CIA director, and Vanita Gupta, the head of the Department of Justice’s civil-rights division under President Obama. Some of his initial interviews hardly touched on Trump at all. In September, I watched him tape an interview with the outspoken federal judge Jed Rakoff, with whom he discussed the moral calculus of punishment. “What is cosmic justice?” Bharara asked.

“I don’t aspire to be a talk-show host. This is a thing that I’m doing, and we’ll see how it goes,” Bharara told me. Then he added, “I don’t know how much of an audience there is for moderate thoughtfulness from someone who used to have power.”
Vinit has far higher ambitions for his brother’s new media career. “When you’re building brands, you have to focus on what is it exactly that you’re going to be best at,” he told me at another point. “Why are the people going to wear the shirts and the hats? I can see through Preet why people would.”

He turned to address his brother. “Because you do have these folks who follow you and have that passion for what you stand for. And I think that would be great, for Cafe to take that from you, and for that to halo, and for us to build around it — this idea that we can do better. We should be thinking about these core values of justice, fairness, and equality. We should be thinking about young people and how do we do it in a way where it’s not preachy, it’s not political, it is universal, but we’re having fun with it. And I think if we do that right, I can see millions and millions of people wearing the Cafe hats and shirts.”

The resistance will be monetized.

Fascinating read re: Bharara, his successful & close knit family, and his going into digital media business with his brother. I'm waiting for him to run for office.

Aide says Trump is insane

Posting here in case no one else has poste. Scary but i say let the idiot go full-on insane so Repugs will have no choice but to oust him.

Those who know or watch President Donald Trump closely fear he is “coming apart” under the strain of his failed presidency and often aborted actions. “He’s grasping to achieve something, anything, to prove he’s up to the job,” says a longtime business associate of Trump. “He’s coming apart at the seams.”

Joseph Nye, Harvard professor and author of “Is the American Century Over?” says that, under Trump, “the reputation of the United States has diminished.” Nye adds that being a “reality host” does not give him a “global perspective” that one needs as president.
“This is not going to end well for this administration,” a former FBI official says. “Trump is out of control and what he does goes against core American values.”

White House aides talk in whispers about Trump’s temper tantrums that have become routine. He unleashes strings of obscenities, threatens to fire everyone and too often issues more ominous threats that include violence. “He yells at people, saying he will ‘kick their ass’ or even kill them,” says one, who said she fears for her safety if her name is used. “I think our president is insane!”
A media report that questions one of Trump’s actions can bring on a shouting attack against anyone nearby. Trump, she says, reduces staff members to tears and says some have quit because they can no longer stand being around him.

Secret Service agents joke that they should use the label “Madman” to identify Trump in radio conversations. Others joke about jumping in front of the president to “take a bullet” to protect him. “I might be taking a bullet fired from a fellow agent.”
Trump, they say, threatens to fire all of his secret service detail and replace them with “bodyguards I know and trust.”
That causes the agents to shake their heads because Trump has, in the past, hired personal guards with violent criminal records.
“The president has no sense of duty, not understanding of what it takes to be the leader of a nation,” says a former aide. “To him, the only things that matter are serving his ego and fattening his wallet.”

WOW!! New Mexico Democrats

A couple days ago as the hubby & i were roadtripping to Taos, on the way we passed through a small town called Mora. Many residents had lined the main road we were on waiting eagerly for a parade to come by. This as we would learn later is one of many fiestas throughout NM. One bunch of residents had a big sign that read 'Mora Democrats'. Recognizing we had something in common with these good townspeople, i instinctively rolled down the car window, waived my hand at them & yelled 'Hello fellow Democrats!' to the shock & laughter of my hubby & college age daughter. A few of the stunned residents smiled & waived back. They probably thought i was nuts but i had to show them my support.
Then earlier today as we went into Taos historic district there was another fiesta - this parade longer with alot more floats & residents out to revel. To my further surprise there were quite a few Democratic candidates & their supporters taking part in this fiesta - Michelle Lujan Grisham for governor, Tom Udall for US senate (i believe for reelection), Ben Ray Lujan for US congressional reelection, & at least 4 more Dems candidates for local & state positions. In contrast there were no GOP candidates. The Taos Democratic society members were also out marching proudly with a large sign & float as well. With all thats transpired over the past couple days i needed this picker upper, & couldn't be more proud to be a Democrat. Clearly New Mexicans weren't shy about flaunting their party affiliation. They've given me the inspiration to keep up the resistance in my own home town.

Confirmed: RNC Chair Reince Priebus was at Trump Tower for Donald Trump Jr.s Russia meeting

Source: Palmer Report

On the morning of the meeting in question, which is confirmed to have taken place at Trump Tower, an Associated Press reporter named Jonathan Lemire tweeted that he had just seen Reince Priebus walking into the building (link). This isn’t proof that Priebus was in the boardroom for the meeting, but it in confirmation that he was in Trump Tower for the meeting. There was no other reason for him to have shown up there. There was a RNC fundraiser in New York that day, but it was at a different building.

CNN is reporting tonight that Donald Trump Jr.’s attorney has coughed up some details about the eighth person at the meeting, insisting that the person was a “U.S. citizen” and was “not employed by the Russian government” while referring to the individual as having been a man (link). Junior’s attorney was attempting to make things sound more innocent by confirming that the eighth person wasn’t yet another Russian government representative. But instead, he ended up offering a description that just happens to fit Reince Priebus.

It’s important to note that during the time of this meeting, Priebus was still the Chair of the Republican National Committee, and he wasn’t working for the Donald Trump campaign in any way shape or form. So if he was in the meeting, it means the titular head of the Republican Party was officially in on the plot to conspire with the Russian government to rig the election on Donald Trump’s behalf. Look for proof soon that Priebus was not only in Trump Tower for the meeting, but physically in the meeting as well.

Trump Confirms He Is Under Investigation And Blames His Own Justice Department

Source: HuffPost

President Donald Trump seemed to confirm for the first time Friday that he’s being investigated for possible obstruction of justice and appeared to blame the Justice Department’s number two official for the probe.

Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, appointed former FBI Director Robert Mueller as a special prosecutor in an investigation of alleged collusion between Trump associates and Russia in the 2016 election. Rosenstein made the appointment after Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation for failing to disclose during his confirmation hearings that he met with Russian officials before Trump took office.

Holy cow, now he's turning on Rod Rosenstein. Crap is hitting the fan very quickly.
