NY Times: gross conflicts of interest at National biotech (GMO) panel.

We all have to be on the lookout for twisted science and propaganda not just about pharmaceutical drugs and agricultural chemicals, but also about the so-called "safety" and "value" of genetically modified food (GMO) because of corporate "science" and the slick operators who infest national review panels, and their trolls who infest the Intertubes.

Read The Times and take careful note. Your diet has a tremendous impact on your physical, mental and emotional health. Eat crappy food, and you are cultivating crappy physical, mental and emotional health.

New York Times, Dec. 27, 2016

"...One of those committees, though, is facing questions about how its members were selected. The concerns focus on a panel studying biotechnology, a booming area of business, including in the food industry, and one of the most contentious scientific issues in Washington.

"Critics say that several committee members have financial ties to biotech businesses that could color the panel’s report, expected to be published soon, potentially giving short shrift to health and environmental worries.

"By the academies’ own account, two of the scientists already violate the group’s extensive conflict-of-interest policy..."

Big Pharma, Inc. royally reaming American people - NY Times.

The New York Times published a blockbuster story on December 23, about how pharmaceutical corporations are royally screwing the American people.

Right after the Times published its story and continuing merrily through Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, the Intertubes were pumped up with diverting rants and attacks on clean, healthy, non-toxic alternative or complementary therapeutics that millions of people around the world find effective, but that Big Pharma considers to be competition.

Wow, what a coincidence! We do live on an amazing planet.

...Price Spikes on Prescription Drugs...

"...The report focused on Retrophin, Rodelis Therapeutics, Turing Pharmaceuticals and an old favorite, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International.

"But these four companies are not alone in pursuing the pernicious price-hike business model, the committee noted. Other companies take the same approach, hurting taxpayers, patients and the health care system..."

"The report... reads like a checklist for the apocalypse..."

The New Yorker on the latest science and most alarming news about climate change, and the parallel appointment of Exxon's climate-change denying oil baron, Comrade Rex Tillerson as Comrade Casino's secretary of state.

Will the Republicans bring us the firkin apocalypse first, or will it be freakin Armageddon?

"As has been copiously documented, ExxonMobil has a long history of peddling misinformation on climate change."

An "opaque corporate misinformation network" - the Latter Day Republcians

From The Guardian:

"Yes, Donald Trump’s politics are incoherent. But those who surround him know just what they want, and his lack of clarity enhances their power. To understand what is coming, we need to understand who they are. I know all too well, because I have spent the past 15 years fighting them.

"Over this time, I have watched as tobacco, coal, oil, chemicals and biotech companies have poured billions of dollars into an international misinformation machine composed of thinktanks, bloggers and fake citizens’ groups. Its purpose is to portray the interests of billionaires as the interests of the common people, to wage war against trade unions and beat down attempts to regulate business and tax the very rich. Now the people who helped run this machine are shaping the government...."

Americans must demand that the Electoral College be given access to the Intelligence Reports

Otherwise, they are casting their Electoral ballots from within a vast cloud of ignorance pumped up Republican-Russian collusion against America and democracy.

Flim-flam Fascists (R)

...that phrase has the ring of authenticity to it, especially as we read about Republican plans to toss our seniors under their freaking solid-gold bus, and to buttbang the planet with tar sands and fracking up the wazoo

.

Will Comrade Casino (R) ask taxpayers to fund a solid gold toilet for the White House?

Why have none of the crack investigative reporters from Fox, CNN or MSNBC posed this vital question to Republican role model Donald Trump (aka Comrade Casino)?

After all, The Donald has a solid gold crapper in his New York penthouse. Surely he will need one for his elite Republican ass when he moves into the taxpayer-funded White House.

Undoubtedly, Trump has this weighty matter at the top of his priority considerations list right now. I think it's incumbent upon corporate media to dig in to this story, to find out, and to inform the American public.

Water has subtle properties beyond the claims of Big Pharma propaganda

In an effort to stomp out competition from natural remedies that Multinational Pharmaceutical companies feel would cut into their unchecked drug profiteering, many agents circulate narrow, outdated speculations about water and its subtle properties. Water has many properties that the limited perspective of Drug Companies has yet to acknowledge.

"Neutron scattering and computational modeling have revealed unique and unexpected behavior of water molecules under extreme confinement that is unmatched by any known gas, liquid or solid states.

"In a paper published in Physical Review Letters, researchers at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory describe a new tunneling state of water molecules confined in hexagonal ultra-small channels - 5 angstrom across - of the mineral beryl. An angstrom is 1/10-billionth of a meter, and individual atoms are typically about 1 angstrom in diameter...

"The discovery... demonstrates features of water under ultra confinement in rocks, soil and cell walls, which scientists predict will be of interest across many disciplines.
