Elijah Cummings is on it ...

Elijah Cummings is on trump and flynn's cases -- is demanding documents about flynn's conflicts of interest.

I am sure you know that trump has announced nominating flynn as National Security Advisor.

Real Strategies for Dems & Progressves in General

Here are real strategies for Democrats and, more generally, for progressives.

1. Stay in contact with your elected officials AND your political party leaders at all levels of government about the following concerns + ANY of your concerns.

2. Stay in touch with any progressive social/political group or movement that helps your/our cause, whether it be Bernie revolution, Pantsuit Nation, Black Lives Matter, any effort pertaining to Standing Rock, ... surely you get the picture. Participate if you can.

3. Start learning about Medicare (privatization efforts currently & in past) and "Ryan budgets" (of last few years). Start contacting elected officials to ask where they stand on this, express your disagreement with privatization and "supplements"/vouchers. IF YOU LIVE in red state with all red Senators & Rep, still call them BUT stay in touch with your state/local Dem party officials about it.

3.b. Medicare issue -- not only important program BUT also something with structural AND political characteristics that will potentially divide republicans. IF YOU DIDN'T GET item #3, READ ITEM #3b.

4. Start contacting Dem elected officials, esp., maybe all elected officials, and Dem party officials to demand that voter suppression, including gerrymandering, be investigated and ended.

4.b. If you learn of group that will take repub government officials to court over voter suppression, support that group.

5. If you have good reason to believe vote tampering happened in your state, start complaining to elected officials. Demand it be investigated, that those guilty of this be held legally responsible. Stay in contact with Dem party officials if you have red elected officials who won't listen. Stay on them.

6. Let's all start learning whether there are reputable national or international organizations that will look into vote tampering.

The following are NOT strategies at all:

1. Bickering over who would have been the better candidate. The election was likely stolen, folks, and that means noone but the theives had a chance of winning. Plus, internal bickering will not address the bigotry and hatred that spewed their ugly heads this campaign season.

2. Pointing fingers at other progressives. Folks, the conservatives are rowing in the same direction. We are not.

Joy Reid about to start: MSNBC, 4 pm CDT

She's heading the "Election Coverage" program.

Thanks to earlier heads up ..

Standing Rock Sioux still need help.

Iowa barely light blue & Ohio light blue on 538

Waaaaahhh!!! I am pleased to say that fivethirtyeight.com has Iowa barely light blue! And Ohio is still light blue, less anemically so than Iowa. I hope it stays that way, but I found this to be the case ~11:15 am CDT.

Wooh. Having said that, not to ruin the wonderful moment (I am ecstatic no matter what), I have to add that my heart is with all who are in harm's way and all who are suffering. Those in Haiti, Jamaica, Florida, the Carolinas, and Taiwan (also hurricane-hit recently) come to mind. And of course all those killed or injured by gun fire, any violence, or anything as well as those facing serious illness or injuries. Ahh, I have to admit, the news about shootings and the hurricanes are keeping thoughts like this in the forefront of my mind more than usual.

However, I am still celebrating the good news for Hillary Clinton, her supporters, and all the people who would benefit from her being elected rather than any of her current opponents. And the people who would benefit include everyone in my second paragraph.

Take care, DU!

Maddow, O'Donnell, & the 1995 Tax Accountant

If there is same/similar thread started, please let me know! I didn't see one but don't want to duplicate.

Rachel Maddow / TRMS is on now & is providing a good summary of campaign news. I love her upbeat nature, too!

Rachel herself does not have special guests so far (tho I missed beginning of TRMS). HOWEVER, she said that Lawrence O'Donnell / The Last Word will have the accountant who did the orange one's 1995 taxes on the program. It starts just after Maddow.

Lawrence O'Donnell, host of The Last Word,

is currently ripping trump. Theme (so far) is that trump is the class clown -- but O'Donnell is calmly and seriously addressing it.

Rachel Maddow (TRMS on MSNBC) currently ripping

djt a new one. Sorry didn't post sooner. Have been too engrossed in show. She just questioned whether trump said stupid things about nuclear weapons b/c he didn't care to learn more or b/c he tried to learn it but couldn't. She then summed up -- lack of interest or aptitude to learn the topic. This is but one example from her.

Vox has some good articles/posts on the debate

at www.vox.com. I know Huffington Post and others do, too.

Take care, and have a wonderful evening!

Rachel Maddow on MSNBC just summed up djt hilariously!

Among other things, described his sniffing, faces, sighing, etc., ... and went on to say he's the person on the plane you'd wonder if had gone off his medication.
