My darling #jkhashoggi," fiance's last message to Jamal Khashoggi..

Khashoggi's editor: Saudi response 'utter B.S.' 02:55

Istanbul, Turkey (CNN)The fiancee of journalist Jamal Khashoggi has published a final message to him, after Saudi authorities admitted he was killed at the country's consulate in Istanbul.

"They took your bodily presence from my world. But your beautiful laugh will remain in my soul forever. My darling #jkhashoggi," she wrote on Twitter Saturday evening.
Attached to the tweet is a video of Khashoggi giving an TV documentary interview. He is shown being interrupted by a cat which hops on his lap, making him laugh heartily. "You should leave this in the film," a smiling Khashoggi tells the journalist.
Cengiz, who was waiting outside the consulate when Khashoggi entered the building, had not previously accepted that he had died. Khashoggi had gone to the consulate on October 2 to conduct paperwork that would allow for the two of them to be married.
In the event that he did not emerge, Khashoggi had told Cengiz to call his friend Turan Kislakci, the head of the Turkish Arab Media Association.

"I do not know if Jamal is inside. I want to know where Jamal is. Did they detain him? Did they kidnap him? Is he imprisoned?" the visibly tired Cengiz told CNN's Jomana Karadsheh outside the consulate, a day after his disappearance. At the time, she asked media outlets not to name her.
"What is he eating? What is he drinking? Does he deserve this? ... He is not a terrorist. He is an analyst and a journalist," she told CNN, choking up with tears.

A journalist and former royal court insider, Khashoggi has been a prominent critic of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the kingdom's de facto ruler, since he went into self-exile in June 2017.

A day after Saudi Arabia's public admission of his death, Turkish media released CCTV footage apparently showing Khashoggi and Cengiz hand-in-hand, entering an apartment building where the journalist had just bought a property for the couple.
When Turkish officials privately told media outlets four days later that they believed Khashoggi had been killed, Cengiz tweeted that she refused to believe the news until an official statement was made.
That official statement came in the early hours of Saturday, when Saudi Arabia admitted that Khashoggi died in the consulate, claiming he was the victim of a "fistfight" after a discussion turned violent.

Nancy Reagan throws party weekend of JFK assasination and forbids any conversation regarding same...

I was reading this on the treadmill this AM and thought I would share it with you. Republicans have always been dicks....

On Friday, Nov 22, 1963, when the 46 year old President of the United States was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, the lights went out for Americans. Businesses and schools closed as the country sank int a miasma of mourning. Around the globe, flags were lowered to half-staff. ..England, Kenya, West Berlin, Athens, Russia.....

In Hollywood a personal memorial service was scheduled on Sunday evening by Sam Goldwyn. One of the invitees Frank McCarthy mentioned he was invited to a party that night at the Reagans. "I'm sure the Reagans will cancel their party now because of the President's assassination, don't you think? I'll call Nancy and find out"

Mrs. Reagan was quite surprised by his phone call. "My heavens Why would we cancel our party just because John F Kennedy died? Don't be silly. We'll expect to see you around 7PM."

McCarthy uncomfortable about attending, nevertheless rang the Reagans' doorbell at the appointed hour, and was somewhat taken aback when Nancy answered. "There's to be no discussion of you-know-what....and I mean no discussion whatsoever."

........from Nancy Reagan the Unauthorized Biography.

While President Continues to Play Dumb on Murder, 2016 Reporting Shows Saudis Only Blacklisted Khashoggi After Journalist Criticized... Trump

"So the Saudis murdered a journalist they previously banned for speaking badly about Trump, and now Trump refuses to condemn them for it."

As a columnist for the Washington Post, Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi frequently criticized his home country's government—denouncing the country's treatment of women and most recently, in his final column published Wednesday, calling on Saudi officials to embrace press freedom.

But as critics accuse President Donald Trump of conspiring with the Saudis to cover up Khashoggi's suspected murder, one journalist on Wednesday highlighted an article published in the Independent, weeks after Trump was elected in November of 2016—noting that Khashoggi's criticism of the Saudis wasn't the only thing that led the government to ban his work from appearing in his home country.

While the move was likely fueled by his outspoken criticism of the monarchy and its policies, the journalist was only blacklisted from working in the kingdom after criticizing Trump.

Los Angeles Times columnist Virginia Heffernan posted about her realization late Wednesday after coming across the Independent article.
Citing theMiddle East Eye's reporting, the Independent published a story saying that Khashoggi spoke at the Washington Institute on November 10, 2016—the day after Trump won the presidential election—remarking that Trump's Middle East stances were "contradictory."

Soon after, a Saudi government source was quoted by the Middle East Eye as saying, "The author Jamal Khashoggi does not represent the government of Saudi Arabia or its positions at any level, and...his opinions only represent his personal views, not that of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

By early December, Saudi authorities had banned Khashoggi "from writing in newspapers, appearing on TV, and attending conferences" in the kingdom, leading the author to a self-imposed exile.

To several political observers on Twitter, the revelation that the Saudis had so directly come to the defense of Trump gave new meaning to the fact that the president is now attempting to shield Saudi Arabia from the international outrage that's exploded in the 16 days since Khashoggi disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul—especially following reports that U.S. intelligence agencies had known of a Saudi plan to detain Khashoggi.

Mounting evidence has pointed to a murder by a "hit team" with links to MBS, but the Trump administration has criticized those accusing the Saudis of involvement, with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo telling reporters, "We ought to give them a few more days" to complete their own investigation and issuing a reminder that the Saudis "are an important strategic alliance of the U.S. and we need to be mindful of that as well."

John Dean once said to Richard Nixon:”There’s a cancer on the presidency.” With Donald Trump’s racism, misogyny, pathological lying, and love affairs with murderous autocrats, he has spread his presidential cancer throughout America. On Nov.6 we administer intense radiation. VOTE
