If there's any money left over...

Anyone remember how Fox News reacted when Obama said he'd be WILLING to meet with Lil Kim?

Such a far cry from the way they portray Trump, huh?

What can be done if "big money" isn't standing in the way of effective politicians

Imagine that! This stuff is not beneath her.

But I'm sure she'll have top-notch staff someday when she's serving on cabinet or as V.P. or as president of the country and she really no longer has time to look into "everyday" matters at a constituency level.

God bless Portland, Oregon

so to speak.

The Portland, Oregon, City Council has approved a measure extending civil rights protections to atheist, agnostic and other nonreligious residents.

The council’s unanimous vote on Wednesday ensures that nonreligious people are explicitly protected from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation.

“By passing this ordinance, we’re sending a message that we value nonbelievers and affirm that protections of our civil rights code extends to them,” Commissioner Amanda Fritz said during the council meeting. “With this declaration, perhaps more nonbelievers will feel less fearful of being themselves in the open.”

The vote amends the definition of religion in Portland’s city code to include atheism, agnosticism and other forms of non-belief.

Dallas Cowboys lure Jason Witten out of retirement

INDIANAPOLIS -- Jason Witten is returning to the Dallas Cowboys, the team announced Thursday.

Witten is leaving ESPN's Monday Night Football and returning to the playing field less than a year after announcing his retirement. Sources told ESPN that the tight end is getting a one-year deal worth $3.5 million that can max out at $5 million, including roster bonuses and incentives.

Witten has played in 11 Pro Bowls during his 15 years with the Cowboys, becoming the franchise leader with 1,152 receptions, which ranks fourth in NFL history, and 12,448 receiving yards. He also holds franchise records for games played (239), consecutive games (236), starts (229) and consecutive starts (179).

Johnny Manziel barred from the Canadian Football League

The Montreal Alouettes released quarterback Johnny Manziel on Wednesday, saying he "contravened the agreement which made him eligible to play" in the Canadian Football League.

The CFL said Manziel, 26, is not eligible to sign with another team in the league, which had his full rights for two seasons.

"We are disappointed by this turn of events. Johnny was provided a great deal of support by our organization, in collaboration with the CFL, but he has been unable to abide by the terms of his agreement," Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed said in a statement. "We worked with the league and presented alternatives to Johnny, who was unwilling to proceed."

It is unclear what Manziel did to violate the agreement with the Alouettes and the CFL, but the quarterback posted on social media that he looks forward "to exploring new options." According to a source, Manziel violated a set of conditions set forth by the CFL when he originally signed in May 2018. Although the league never specified the terms, it said in a statement that they were "extensive and exacting" and were generated after an assessment from an independent expert on domestic violence.

The source did not believe that the release was a result of Manziel attempting to break his contract to play in an American developmental league.
