Families Of Deported Immigrants Storm Biden Headquarters To Demand Apology

UPDATE: 3:15 p.m. — After an hour and a half of protesting in the building’s lobby using megaphones and signs, Philadelphia police arrested six activists from the group. When police arrived, undocumented families left the building to avoid being arrested and potentially sent into ICE custody. The protest continues in front of the building, but so far, no one from Biden’s campaign has responded to the group.

PREVIOUSLY: A group of families whose loved ones were among the roughly 3 million people deported under the Obama administration will hold a sit-in at Joe Biden’s campaign headquarters in Philadelphia on Wednesday, saying they’ll refuse to leave until they receive an apology from the former vice president.

The group of roughly 40 families and activists, organized by New Jersey-based immigrant rights group Movimiento Cosecha, plan to ask Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign to commit to a progressive immigration platform and acknowledge the pain caused by deportations under President Barack Obama.

Obama set a record for deportations, although he narrowed his focus later in his presidency to removing convicted criminals, recent border-crossers and people previously removed from the country. (A change in how removals were counted also accounts for some of the record.)

Sir David Attenborough on climate change: "We cannot be radical enough."

Video at link below

The naturalist David Attenborough appears before a parliament select committee to discuss environmental policy with MPs. He says the government's commitment to net zero carbon emissions for the UK by 2050 is not necessarily the best approach. 'The question is: what is practically possible? How can we take the electorate with us in dealing with these things?' he says.

John Daly, denied use of golf cart, withdraws from the Open Championship

John Daly has withdrawn from The Open Championship three days after being told he can't ride in a cart.

The R&A announced Tuesday that Daly, who won The Open at St. Andrews in 1995, has withdrawn because of a medical condition. He was replaced at Royal Portrush by Kevin Streelman.

Daly cited the Americans with Disabilities Act in requesting -- and receiving -- a cart for the PGA Championship at Bethpage Black. Daly says he has osteoarthritis in his right knee and that makes it difficult to walk.

The R&A said it denied his request because it considers walking to be an integral part of the tournament.

And Auggie sheds a tear!

Do you agree with this climate change analogy?

Imagine there was a time machine for Ivanka...

Do you confront people who behave badly in public?

Are you the type who doesn't hesitate to approach another individual who litters, acts rudely toward front-line staff, verbally abuses their child, leaves their dog in a hot car, etc.?

Or do you mind your own business?

Fareed Zakaria: Trump is right, America faces an asylum crisis and Dems must address it

I respect Fareed and think he has much to offer on many topics. He's not defending the way Trump is handling the asylum seekers (nobody could), but is he right in saying that reforms are needed to the asylum process?

What if Michelle Obama announced tomorrow that she's entering the race?

Who here would throw their support behind her without hesitation?

She would beat Trump, right? You're confident Michelle would win the coveted swing states?

I'm not expecting her to jump into the fray, but I still hear speculation every now and again and I can't help but wonder, what if?

Fired cartoonist isn't letting up on Trump

Michael de Adder was fired by a few newspapers for this cartoon:
