An elite police officer who helped arrest the son of El Chapo was shot 155 times in a brutal car park execution.
The 30-year-old officer, identified only as Eduardo, is reported to have been killed outside a shopping centre in the city of Culiacan.
He had helped detain Ovidio Guzman, El Chapo's son, last month.
He was promptly released.
According to local media, the victim was a member of the operation launched by the Culiacan authorities to arrest El Chapo’s son and extradite him to the United States.
Reports said that Guzman was detained on October 17 during a confrontation between the police and supporters of the Sinaloa Cartel in the city of Culiacan.
Alleged gang members loyal to Guzman then caused chaos on the streets and El Chapo’s 28-year-old son was promptly released by the authorities, according to local media.
The footage shows the moment a red car follows a white car into the car park before at least two gunmen reportedly shoot the cop 155 times.
The local authorities are investigating the incident although they have yet to establish whether a criminal gang was behind the alleged assassination.

94-year-old Florida man allegedly murdered wife because she had dementia
VENICE, Fla. — A 94-year-old man faces charges of first-degree premeditated murder after shooting and killing his wife because she'd had dementia, according to the Venice Police Department.
Wayne Juhlin shot and killed his 80-year-old wife on Monday night, according to police.
Juhlin told police that "he intended on turning the gun on himself and taking his own life after killing his wife, but the gun malfunctioned."
After the gun prevented him from carrying out his suicide, Juhlin eventually called 911 to reported that his wife was dead.
Juhlin was arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder. He is currently at the Sarasota County Jail.

Unprecedented Blackouts And $6 Gasoline: California's Energy Crisis
Millions of Californians may have just suffered an unprecedented, induced blackout by the state's largest (and bankrupt) utility, PG&E, just so it isn't blamed for starting even more fires causing it to go even more bankrupt... but at least the price of gas is soaring.
According to Fox5NY, citing figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was $4.25 on Wednesday, 4.5 cents higher than one week ago, 57.6 cents more than one month ago and 37.1 cents greater than one year ago. It has also risen 86.4 cents since the start of the year. What is more troubling is that as California gas prices reached the highest level in the state since 2015, some Los Angeles area gas stations are charging more than $5 a gallon.
The gas price spike started last month after Saudi Arabia oil production facilities were attacked, and accelerated after three Los Angeles-area refineries slowed or halted production due to maintenance issues and no imported gasoline was available to make up for the shortfall, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
The shortage was made worse after local refineries cut back production of summer-blend gasoline in anticipation of switching to selling the winter blend beginning Nov. 1.

U.S. Military Issues Warning to Troops About Incel Violence at "Joker" Movie Screenings
The U.S. military has warned service members about the potential for a mass shooter at screenings of the Warner Bros. film Joker, which has sparked wide concerns from, among others, the families of those killed during the 2012 mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
The U.S. Army confirmed on Tuesday that the warning was widely distributed after social media posts related to extremists classified as “incels,” were uncovered by intelligence officials at the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
In a September 18th email, service members were instructed to remain aware of their surroundings and “identify two escape routes” when entering theaters. In the event of a shooting, they were instructed to “run, hide, fight.”
“Run if you can,” the safety notice said. “If you’re stuck, hide (also known as ‘sheltering in place’), and stay quiet. If a shooter finds you, fight with whatever you can.”
The Army said it became aware of potential threats after receiving a bulletin from the FBI, but that it was unaware of any specific plots or suspects. The notice, which was marked “For Official Use Only,” was relayed purely as a precautionary measure, it said.
A separate memo, issued on Monday by senior officials in the U.S. Army’s criminal investigation division, stated that the Army had obtained “credible” intelligence from Texas law enforcement officials pertaining to “disturbing and very specific chatter” on the dark web “regarding the targeting of an unknown movie theater during the release.”
“We do this routinely because the safety and security of our workforce is paramount,” an Army spokesperson said of the widely distributed warning. “We want our workforce to be prepared and diligent on personal safety both inside the workplace and out.”
Incel is a term that was adopted in the ‘90s by an online subgroup of self-professed “involuntary celibate” men. Over time, some radicalized members of the incel community have formed an ideology that promotes violence. Elliot Rodger self-identified as an incel before he killed six people near the campus of the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2014. And James Holmes, the man who opened fire in a crowded movie theater in 2012 has become a bit of a hero to the incel community. It’s often been repeated that Holmes was inspired by the Joker, a claim that primarily rests on statements the killer reportedly made to police after the fact in which he said he “was the Joker.” Speaking with the Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Oates, Aurora’s chief of police at the time, said that “there is no evidence” the shooter ever said that.
In the alert emailed to service members, Army officials claimed that incels “also idolize the Joker character, the violent clown from the Batman series, admiring his depiction as a man who must pretend to be happy, but eventually fights back against bullies.”

Two pit bulls at an Alabama animal shelter escaped from their cages early Thursday morning and fatally mauled 29 cats, WTVY reported.
Workers at the Dothan Animal Shelter found the dead cats when they reported to work Thursday morning, the television station reported. “Those dogs forced their way out of a pen. Then, they pushed hard enough on galvanized bars to knock (the bars) out of their clamps,” shelter director Bill Banks told WTVY.That action enabled the dogs to push on the chain-link fencing and then attack the cats.
“These dogs were able to eat their way out, for lack of a better term, and attack these cats. That is horrible,” Dothan City Commissioner Beth Kenward told WTVY.Kenward said the shelter is outdated and believes the city should have helped to upgrade it a long time ago.Mayor Mark Saliba agreed, telling WTVY, “It's sad, and there is no doubt that (a new shelter) is overdue."
Banks said the pit bulls were brought to the shelter Wednesday. He told WTVY that no decision has been made about what to do with the dogs.

ASAP Rocky: President Trump demands Sweden free US rapper

US President Donald Trump has demanded that Sweden "give ASAP Rocky his freedom" in a series of tweets. The musician, real name Rakim Myers, has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm in Stockholm. He will remain in custody until a trial takes place. Mr Trump raged on Twitter that Sweden had "let our African American community down". ASAP was arrested on 3 July following a fight that was captured on video. Two other men who were with them at the time have also been charged with assault. The musician says that his group was being followed by a group of men and he acted in self-defence. Donald Trump said last week that he had spoken to Swedish prime minister Stefan Lofven about ASAP's case.
However on Thursday the president wrote that he was "very disappointed" in Mr Lofven for being "unable to act" and urged him to "treat Americans fairly". A spokesperson for Mr Lofven responded by saying that the Swedish judicial system, prosecutors and courts were independent, the government was not allowed to influence legal proceedings and "everyone is equal before the law".
Daniel Suneson, the Swedish prosecutor in charge of the case said that he had not spoken to any White House representatives or any representatives of the Swedish government while investigating the case. He added that there was "an obvious risk that these three suspects would leave the country if they were released".
On Wednesday, the rapper's mother pleaded for the release of her son. Renee Black told Swedish newspaper Expressen that ASAP "isn't really eating properly." Other celebrities such as Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have also called for ASAP's release. More than 500,000, including fellow artists Nicki Minaj and Post Malone, have signed an online petition calling for the rapper to be released on bail.

The Next James Bond Film Is Getting Its First Black & Female 007
The internet may have wanted a Black Bond, or a female Bond, but it looks like we’re getting both. And neither.
Lashana Lynch has been tapped to play the new 007 in the upcoming Bond 25 film, the Independent reports. While Lynch, who recently played Maria Rambeau opposite Brie Larson in Captain Marvel, will reportedly be playing the new agent 007, the character James Bond is still expected to be portrayed by Daniel Craig.
“There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M [played by Ralph Fiennes] says, ‘Come in 007,’ and in walks Lashana who is Black, beautiful, and a woman. It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman,” an insider told the Daily Mail.
This means that while Lynch will be taking on the agent number 007, James Bond is still Bond. Bond is expected to be in retirement at the start of the events of the upcoming film, essentially making the coveted agent number 007 open for Lynch’s taking.

(AP) — Oregon wildlife officials have killed a young black bear that people have been feeding and taking photos with.
The Statesman Journal reports state wildlife biologists determined last week that the 100-pound (45-kilogram) male bear could not be relocated because it had grown accustomed to people.
Wildlife biologists found the bear eating trail mix and other snacks left for him near Henry Hagg Lake west of Portland.
Wildlife biologist Kurt License says the bear was too habituated to people, so it posed a risk to human safety.
Rick Swart of the state Department of Fish and Wildlife says a habituated bear is unlikely to stay away from people if it’s relocated.
Swart says people should never feed wild animals.
