Funtatlaguy's JournalSo will Swetnick go public with interviews?
Looks like the FBI wont interview her.
I cant imagine Avenatti wont fight back against this unless Swetnick declines interviews.
Sober Brett and Drunk Brett were two different people.
Asking high school or college acquaintances what he was like is missing the point.
He was probably a very nice guy sober.
But, all of the allegations against him contained alcohol.
Therefore, the only relevant questioning should be:
Did you ever see Brett drink to excess.
If so, describe his behavior.
Did he ever show any inappropriate behavior toward women when he was drinking.
If you have friends that think there's no difference between the two parties
Please show them video of todays events.
Im so proud to be a Democrat today!
We can't waste Avenattis talents - let's make him DNC Chair.
Imagine him as our attack dog 🐕 in the media going up against the usual right wing mouthpieces.
Imagine him telling a gop candidate that they better be careful with their attack ads against Dems.
Imagine him devising strategies to deal with all of the liars and obfuscatory in the gop.
He is our Karl Rove and Lee Atwater all wrapped up into one.
He is our perfect antidote to the Trump era of dirt and filth.
He is great on television. Which is extremely important in the Trump era.
The question is - will the Old Guard in the Dem Party be smart enuf to use his talents properly.
Will the 6 Dem Men yield to the 4 Dem Women on the Committee.
Now, that the Repubs are pulling their stunt of hiring a female assistant to do their questioning, I wonder what the Dems might do in response.
Grassley has set the ridiculous 5 minute only time limit for each Senator to ask questions.
Thats only 50 minutes of questioning.
I think the Dem men should, therefore, yield all of their time to the Dem women.
That would give Feinstein, Klobuchar, Harris, and Hirono 12.5 minutes each to question Ford/Kavanaugh.
And, to be honest, Id like to see Harris get all 50 minutes to question Kavanaugh.
Anybody else miss Letterman, Stewart, & Olbermann?
They were all such great writers and had such quick wits and excellent timing.
Just imagine what they could be doing with Trump and his collection of the best people right now.
Wish theyd all come back for some kind of round table discussion. Even just one time.
Id gladly pay to see it in person or on pay per view.
None of this is too say that I dont really like Colbert, Noah, and Rachel that replaced their time slots. Love them too.
Just wish those three voices were still ALSO out there talking politics.
Someone please make Jill Wine-Banks a Toadie lapel pin.
Im not crafty or creative enuf.
But, Im sure someone is.
Imagine her being asked on live tv what it represents.
You know shes gutsy enuf to wear it.
Does anybody else follow Trumps poll number trends and cross tabs?
This week has been fun for me with so many polls universally being bad for Trump.
I dont why it fascinates me how many people still support him, but it does.
Anyway, from what I can discern, it is still mostly about identity politics and demographics.
His staunchest supporters are white, non college educated, rural, religious men over 50.
Then, the more educated and younger and less religious they are, the less likely to support him.
The same is true for white women but on a smaller scale.
The biggest move away from him has been with white, college educated, suburban women.
Next is millennials and generation Z both men and women.
His worst numbers are black women and Hispanic women, followed by LGBT, non religious and first time voters.
Anyway, I just hope that everybody (other than our white rural religious Grandpas) turn out in a big way on November 6th, and it will be a huge blue wave 🌊!
Anybody going to host or attend a Midterm Watch Party on 11/6?
Ive usually gone to a Dem candidates election night party at a hotel.
But, this year I think Id rather watch the returns at home or at a house full of Dems.
I'm a former staunch Christian who now is agnostic.
Just wondering how many people share my dilemma.
Was raised in Bible Belt. It was just expected that you go to church, get saved, baptized.
Over the years, though, my questioning nature has moved me away from organized religion and my faith in any type of supernatural beings.
However, I miss the hope of there being something more than just this one short life.
