Is Scott running for America's Chaplain?

Omg....the ending was a sermon. A bad one.

Watching the Wacky Right so that you don't have to.

I think we are now at the point where what is said on Fox News, OANN, Newsmax, Breitbart, and right wing radio needs to be answered EVERY DAY.
The craziness needs to be called out in one specific place each day.

Iím suggesting that CNN or MSNBC has a show devoted to this.
All of the lies, manipulation of the truth, and distortions and agendas need more scrutiny.

I know that both networks sometimes touch on the worst things they do each day.
But Iíd like for there to be one place where itís all called out to let the sane people know what the insane and corrupt are preaching to about 40% of the country.
We need daily information and monitoring of their evil actions and intents and what things can be done to blunt their efforts.

Worst Case Scenarios on Voting Rights.

Letís say that pressure from corporate America doesnít work.
Letís say that states with GOP led legislatures and Governors go ahead and pass voter suppression legislation similar to Georgia.

What then?

Will Democrats and their allies have the time, money, and expertise to try to comply with these new laws while educating the public on what is now needed for them to be eligible to vote in 2022?
Can we sufficiently motivate our voters to not give up and do whatever it takes to still vote?

And, if we do still vote in big numbers and win in some of these red or purple states, will the GOP actually try to overturn elections in states that allow their legislatures to oversee their elections instead of a Secretary of State?

FYI....I hold out little hope of passing any Federal legislation for Voting Rights with our current Senate makeup. Losing, or at least altering, the filibuster would be needed for that and we donít currently have 51 Dems willing to do so. Sigh.

Can anyone cheer me up and give me some hope on this subject.
I worry that 2022 might be a bloodbath for Dems.

Someone please help me find a political answer to a voting question.

I canít seem to find an answer to this question.
When is the last time in a non presidential voting year that the party in power (like the Dems are now) gained seats in the House and Senate ?
Obviously, Iím hoping that happens in 2022, even though all of the political pundits are saying that will not happen in 2022 and that Republicans will regain the majority in both. Argh!

Why does Atlanta shooter go to massage parlors for sex?

Heís claiming heís been fighting his sexual urges.
Why doesnít he pick up and kill prostitutes?
His excuse doesnít add up unless these massage parlors are, in actuality, houses of prostitution.
Patriots owner Bob Kraft argued that these are legitimate massage therapists that he frequented.

Does Freedom of the Press extend to knowingly lying?

Most people that read this site know all to well the genesis of most of Americaís current problems.
Right wing radio got away with it.
Then, right wing tv and web sites and social media, etc.etc.
Got away with what?
Purposeful lies, misinformation, and propaganda.

Many of us screamed and yelled and stomped our feet when it started.
We begged others to listen.
As bit by bit, we saw our family members and friends fall for it.
Mostly it was older white men.
But it spread to other demographics.
Now, a good 40% of our country gets their ďnewsĒ almost exclusively from these sources.

I donít know how our democracy survives without changes.
All forms of media must be regulated and regulated by the SAME source.
That source must find a way to determine what IS considered as deliberately lying by a media source. (is that even possible? Smarter minds than mine need to tackle this).
Once that line is established, strong penalties must be enforced.

If the above can not happen, we must return to having all news content that is of the Opinion/Ediitorial nature, be labeled as such.

This is probably my wishful thinking of trying to ďput the genie back into the bottleĒ.
I do know that some countries now try to regulate or even drop some offending outlets from their cable and satellite distribution.
Would America dare take that drastic step?

Before we rule everything out and just give our country over to the corporate propagandists, Iíd at least, love to see a public/private commission developed to study media manipulation before we completely give up.

Thoughts, my dear friends of facts and truth over alternative facts and lies?

What happened to the story about Reps Giving Capitol tours on 1/5.

Wasnít it Louis Gohmert and some other Republicans Reps that showed some people around the Capitol building on the day before the insurrection?
Havenít heard anymore about it other than when it was once mentioned.
Is that being investigated?

CNN or MSNBC should challenge Fox News to a debate.

Iíd like to see a debate between some of the anchors on each network.
It would be simulcast between the two participating networks.
Each network would provide a three person panel.
A mutually agreed upon moderator and real time fact checker would be used.
The topics would include media political coverage, truth in media, bias in media, etc.

For Fox 🦊, they would use their three big gun prime time propagandists.
CNN or MSNBC would pick their three smartest and quickest thinkers on their feet.

Fox: Hannity, Carlson, Ingraham
CNN: Keillar, Lemon, Cuomo
MSNBC: Wallace, Maddow, ODonnell

This idea seems like something that CNN would more likely do than MSNBC because CNN doesnít have to answer to a higher power for an ok like MSNBC does with NBC.
But, Iíd be thrilled to see either network do it.

The two participating networks would agree to promote the simulcast for about a week.
Should be great ratings and I think the Fox people would be exposed as nothing but shills and their audience would be exposed, many for the first time, to opposing sound intelligence.

Do we need a Voting Rights Czar?

Not sure if Biden could create a new Cabinet position.
But Iíd like to see a team run by Stacey Abrams or someone who has expertise in this area.
The GOP is already back to their suppression tactics in Pennsylvania and Georgia.
Could a federal department assist individual states in fighting such suppression until a new Voting Rights Act is passed?
