Slimy Trump Says He Plans To Steal Bernie Sanders’ Platform In The General

Source: Ring of Fire

Donald Trump may talk a big talk about politicians and their scheming ways, but then he openly declares that he intends to take on a popular platform of another candidate. On Wednesday morning with five more states in his pocket, Trump did the on-the-phone circuit of news media, bragging about his wins and beginning to turn his negative attention toward the Democratic race.

Trump was asked about Bernie Sanders and the real estate mogul showed respect for his Democratic opponent, at least in terms of the ways that Sanders has attacked Clinton so far.

“Well Bernie Sanders has a message that’s interesting. I’m gonna be taking a lot of things that Bernie’s said and, uh, using them. I can reread some of his speeches, I can get some, y’know, in many ways, she shouldn’t be there. He said some things about her that are actually surprising.”

“He said that she’s got bad judgement. When he said ‘bad judgement,’ I said ‘Sound bite!'”

So Trump plans to run to the right of Hillary Clinton, and to the left
of Hillary Clinton.

George W. Bush clung tightly to Al Gore in September and October 2000
with innocent sounding statements that echoed Gore closely.

Don't say it can't happen again.

Hillary Clinton will not get much air space from the media, which is to
say she'll have difficulty delineating differences with Trump.

It's a short article, but be sure to read the whole thing if you have time.

Supreme Court to Decide Whether States Can Make You Leave Your Fourth Amendment Rights at the DMV

Can states make you abandon your Fourth Amendment rights if you want to enjoy the “privilege” of driving? That’s the question at the heart of one of the most consequential cases that the Supreme Court will decide this term, in terms of practical impact upon ordinary Americans. Birchfield v. North Dakota involves challenges to Minnesota and North Dakota statutes that make it a crime for drivers to refuse warrantless chemical tests of their blood, breath, or urine to detect the presence of alcohol. The Supreme Court consolidated three cases to be reviewed. Two involved individuals who were convicted for declining to take a blood test and a breath test, respectively; the third involved an individual who refused field sobriety tests, was taken to a hospital and subjected to a blood test, and was later convicted of drunk driving.

Hope they apply this to employment screening too. It's intrusive, embarrassing, annoying, and
logically backwards (guilty until proven innocent).

How to Hack an Election

http://www.bloomberg.com/features/2016-how-to-hack-an-election/

"When Peña Nieto won, Sepúlveda began destroying evidence. He drilled holes in flash drives, hard drives, and cell phones, fried their circuits in a microwave, then broke them to shards with a hammer. He shredded documents and flushed them down the toilet and erased servers in Russia and Ukraine rented anonymously with Bitcoins. He was dismantling what he says was a secret history of one of the dirtiest Latin American campaigns in recent memory.

For eight years, Sepúlveda, now 31, says he traveled the continent rigging major political campaigns. With a budget of $600,000, the Peña Nieto job was by far his most complex. He led a team of hackers that stole campaign strategies, manipulated social media to create false waves of enthusiasm and derision, and installed spyware in opposition offices, all to help Peña Nieto, a right-of-center candidate, eke out a victory. On that July night, he cracked bottle after bottle of Colón Negra beer in celebration. As usual on election night, he was alone."

Rubio: Trump is 'an embarrassment' and Republicans will pay big in November

Source: The Guardian

The Republican party will be consigned to the wilderness at November’s US presidential election “and beyond” if it chooses Donald Trump as its candidate, rival Marco Rubio has said.

In an interview with the Guardian on Monday evening, the Florida senator – whose fate is likely to be sealed if he fails to win his home state on Tuesday night – said the New York billionaire was an embarrassment who would not be respected around the world.

“If we’re going to be the party of fear, we’re going to spend some time in the wilderness,” Rubio said. “If we’re the party of fear, with a candidate who basically is trying to prey upon people’s fears to get them to vote for them, I think we’re going to pay a big price in November and beyond.”

A lot of GOP trying to derail the Trump machine.

I'm almost beginning to think, knock wood, that the damage is already
done and is not entirely repairable even if they do succeed in dumping
their albatross.

Trump has steamrolled all of them and their party and its beliefs. He's not
consistent with much of what they normally run on. Unbelievable.

Trump considers paying legal bills for man charged at rally

Source: AP via Yahoo News

ATLANTA (AP) — Republican presidential primary leader Donald Trump says he will consider paying the legal fees of a North Carolina man captured on video sucker-punching a protester at one of the billionaire's signature mass rallies.

"I don't accept responsibility. I do not condone violence in any shape," Trump told NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday.

But when asked whether he'd financially back the supporter, who was arrested and charged with assault, Trump says he's "instructed my people to look into it, yes."

Trump, meanwhile, rejected calls to modify his campaign rhetoric amid increasing instances of violence at his events. Instead he blamed Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders for sending supporters to disrupt Trump events and noted that many of the protesters who clashed with Trump supporters in Chicago on Friday night carried Sanders signs.

This is about as close as it comes to fomenting violence.

Look at the logic: 'You go beat up some opposition and I'll take care of your legal bills.'

Trump challenged over ties to mob-linked gambler with ugly past

Source: Yahoo News Live

The daughter of a reputed New Jersey mob figure says her late father had a longtime relationship with Donald Trump that included gambling millions of dollars at one of his casinos, flying on his helicopter and partying aboard his private yacht.

In 1991, Trump first faced questions about his dealings with Robert LiButti, a plump, balding and nationally famous horse breeder with an explosive temper who would later be banned from New Jersey casinos for his ties to Mafia boss John Gotti. At the time, New Jersey state regulators had launched an investigation into allegations by nine employees of one of Trump’s Atlantic City casinos, the Trump Plaza, that the hotel had repeatedly removed African-Americans and women from craps tables after LiButti, one of the highest-rolling gamblers in the city’s history, loudly complained about their presence when he was playing.

Trump Tower Funded by Rich Chinese Who Invest Cash for Visas

Source: Bloomberg

Throughout his presidential campaign, Donald Trump has attacked China and warned about the dangers of deficient immigrant screening.

"They’ve taken our jobs, they’ve taken our money, they’ve taken everything," he said of China in a speech late last month. He has called for a revamping, even a freezing, of the immigration system, but says he would make an exception for the highly-skilled.

Yet no skills are required of the wealthy Chinese being courted by a Chinese-subtitled video to help finance a huge Trump-branded tower in New Jersey. The video leads viewers behind the wheel of a car into Jersey City with scenes of the tower, all to the tune of the theme song from The Sopranos, "Woke Up This Morning."

First on CNN: Team Romney explores blocking Trump at RNC

Source: CNN

But implicit in Romney's request to his team to explore the possibility of a convention fight is his willingness to step in and carry the party's banner into the fall general election as the Republican nominee. Another name these sources mentioned was House Speaker Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate in 2012.

You don't have to read too far between the lines of the speech Romney gave Thursday at the University of Utah to see the imprint of this plan. He urged voters to support the candidate most likely to prevent Trump from racking up delegates in their states -- saying he'd back Florida Sen. Marco Rubio if he were voting in the Sunshine State, Gov. John Kasich if he were voting in Ohio, or Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in the states where he polls as Trump's strongest foe.

Never a doubt that ego would resurface.

Trump declines to condemn former KKK leader who backed him

Source: The Guardian

Donald Trump on Sunday declined to condemn David Duke, the former Ku Klux Klan leader who this week urged sympathisers to vote for the billionaire in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

“I don’t know anything about David Duke,” Trump said, in an interview on CNN, adding: “Certainly I would disavow it if I thought there was something wrong.”

-----------snip------------

“I don’t know anything about David Duke. I don’t know anything about what you’re even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists,” Trump said.

“So I don’t know. I don’t know – did he endorse me, or what’s going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke; I know nothing about white supremacists.”

Ignorance, whether true or feigning, on this issue or any issue of importance

is simply not acceptable for any Presidential candidate. It is a true disqualifier

that should ring alarm bells in any voter's mind.
