‘Gonna Be the Death of Liberals’: Maher Tells Bernie, Hillary Fans to Quit Fighting

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/gonna-be-the-death-of-liberals-maher-tells-bernie-hillary-fans-to-quit-fighting/

Bill Maher ended his show tonight by tearing into Bernie Sanders fans and Hillary Clinton‘s attack dogs for turning on each other instead of the “supervillain” leading the race in the other party.

He told the #BernieOrBust people to suck it up and support Clinton if she’s the nominee, while ripping into Clinton’s people for saying that in a race with Donald Trump, the real sexist here is Sanders. Meanwhile, “#BlackLivesMatter is attacking them both for not being black enough” while Trump “gets five stars from the KKK.”

Maher called Republicans “the real enemies” and declared, “This is gonna be the death of liberals. This nitpick intramural attacking of friends for insufficient purity, compulsively cleaning up a little corner of the room… while there are giant piles of shit everywhere else!”

Those Perfect Trump University Report Cards Were Allegedly the Result of Coercion

http://www.mediaite.com/online/those-perfect-trump-university-report-cards-were-the-result-of-coercion/

by Lindsey Ellefson

Donald Trump has been under fire lately from critics who claim that everything he touches turns to, well, failure and that the only real gold in his life comes from the metallic Sharpies he uses to write letters about how great he is to his detractors in the press. He has been fighting against these allegations dutifully, showcasing business ventures in an attempt to prove how successful they were. (That didn’t work well.) Still, his efforts to re-legitimize Trump Steaks and Trump Water pale in comparison to how hard he’s been fighting back against those who disparage his failed seminars, Trump University.

Trump recently called out some displeased former students by name in an ad. He then pulled out report cards filled out by students. All of the cards gave his seminars incredible ratings. On the website he set up to prove that his courses were legit, many more report cards are available.

What always struck me about his inclusion of the excellent surveys in his defense was that they were almost surely filled out at the end of the seminar, while the client was still hyped up from promises and networking, but before they realized they weren’t going to get any of the things Trump guaranteed to them. Now, The New York Times is reporting that the use of these reviews is even more flimsy because the high ratings are a result of coercion.

New Video Appears to Show Donald Trump's Campaign Manager Grabbing the Reporter He Swore He Didn't..

http://gawker.com/new-video-appears-to-show-donald-trump-campaign-manager-1764350710

By Gabrielle Bluestone

New video from the Donald Trump press conference Tuesday appears to show Donald Trump’s campaign manager grabbing the reporter he swore he didn’t grab.

Michelle Fields, a reporter for the archconservative news outlet Breitbart, said she was manhandled by Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski after she tried to ask the candidate a question about affirmative action.

Yesterday, both Lewandowsi and Trump accused Fields of lying about the incident.

But in the video, recorded by CSPAN, you can see Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski reach across the man walking next to him to the spot where Fields was attempting to ask Trump a question. Next to her, eyewitness Ben Terris, who corroborated her account and identified Lewandowski as her assailant, is clearly visible. Terris can also be seen saying something to Lewandowski immediately after the confrontation.

Bernie Sanders’s most vitriolic supporters really test the meaning of the word ‘progressive’

Sen. Bernie Sanders had a heck of a day Tuesday.

The presidential candidate scored an unexpected and significant victory in Michigan, adding real-world evidence to his campaign's claims that he can continue all the way to the Democratic National Convention. Sanders posted a two-point win, narrowly carrying the kind of state he has lacked -- a big one with a sizable black population. His opponent, Hillary Clinton, still beat him 2 to 1 among black voters. But Sanders earned a larger share of the black vote in Michigan than he has in any preceding state.

That's the good news for him. This post will admittedly not be about that. So, Sanders voters -- particularly those keyboard gangsters, frequent commenters and tweeters, and those convinced of a grand media conspiracy to end the Sanders campaign -- prepare. This piece is about another aspect of the Sanders campaign and some of you.

Something -- we cannot say what -- inside certain corners of the ostensibly progressive and overwhelmingly white ranks of Sanders voters is amiss. There is a pattern -- demonstrated time and time again -- by both Sanders and some Sanders supporters of racial cluelessness, an infantilizing and almost colonial kind of condescension about policy, and a tendency to react to anyone who points that out by, well, supplying even more evidence of racial tone-deafness, self-ordained intellectual superiority and sometimes completely open displays of various forms of outright bigotry.

That's right. We said it. In trying to make their case, Sanders, and far more often some subset of his supporters, behave in ways that are difficult to square with their claims to progressive politics and building a more inclusive and egalitarian society.

One final note before we get to a few examples of the behavior characterized above: The portion of Sanders supporters who read the paragraphs above and began to compose their tweets, emails and below-story comments, we are aware of that Intercept piece that argues that the "Berniebro" and his alleged public misbehavior is media-generated fiction.

But the emails, Twitter messages and comments I have received tell a different story. They use a variety of curse words and insults typically reserved for women. More than one has suggested that I deserve to become the victim of a sex crime. They critique the "objectivity" of what is clearly political analysis based on polling data and other facts; they insist that black voters are dumb or that I have a personal obligation to help black voters see the error of their Clinton-voting ways. It is vile. And it stands in sharp contrast to the claim that no portion of Sanders supporters are angry people who sometimes engage in or embrace bigotry.

User-Generated ‘Bern the Witch’ Event on Sanders Site Got 22 Sign-Ups

http://bluenationreview.com/user-generated-bern-the-witch-event-on-sanders-site/

No, this was not an official Sanders event. Yes, it was created by a user. And it lived on the official campaign site. The worst part of the story, which is gaining traction, is that 22 people signed up for it.

Pantsuit Up! Caucusing for Hillary in Kansas

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeffrey-ann-goudie/caucusing-for-hillary-in-kansas_b_9426854.html

By Jeffrey Ann Goudie

Last weekend hundreds of us lined up to enter the gym in central Topeka, Kansas, where my now 33-year-old daughter attended middle school. My long line of already registered voters was not nearly as long as the parallel line of young people registering to vote, and erstwhile Republicans switching to the Democratic Party to caucus for Bernie Sanders.

The young man ahead of me sported a beard and a slouchy hat. I asked him if he was caucusing for Bernie. "Was it the hat or the beard or my age that gave it away?" he laughed.

I told him I was there to caucus for Hillary, but if Bernie were the nominee, I would support him, of course. He made me no such promise for Hillary.

In the Landon Middle School gym Hillary supporters crowded the bleachers on one side. Bernie supporters filled the opposite-side bleachers and spilled onto the gymnasium floor. The Bernie supporters yelled, "Feel the Bern!" We Hillary supporters chanted "Madame President," and, as we clapped, shouted, "It's About Time!"

Hillary News & Views 3.11: Endorsements, Delegates, "Thoroughly Human Hillary"

http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/3/11/1499591/-Hillary-News-Views-3-11-Endorsements-Delegates-Thoroughly-Human-Hillary

Cleveland Plain Dealer endorses:

Hillary Clinton is the most capable, experienced and knowledgeable Democratic candidate for president.

The former First Lady, secretary of state and New York senator has been in the political trenches virtually her whole life. She knows the issues. She understands the art of the deal. She's credible and she's impressive.

She not only can win the White House, but she also will be ready once she gets there, a description that does not apply to her worthy but ideologically narrow primary opponent, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Clinton knows Washington, knows how to get things done, and will get things done.

Yes, she carries significant negatives, partly because her partisan opponents have spent decades trying to tarnish her reputation. Even so, she stands in full command of the knotty issues, both domestic and foreign, that confront America today.

For all those reasons and more, Ohio Democrats should vote for Hillary Clinton next Tuesday.

Beyond the server issue, it's impossible to recall another American political couple investigated more often or more deeply than Clinton and her husband, dating back to Bill Clinton's time as governor of Arkansas (1979-80 and 1983-92). Whatever Hillary Clinton's flaws, her Republican foes, fearful of Clinton's political prospects, have waged what amounts to 30-plus years of relentless war against her.

And yet still she stands – likely poised for her party's presidential nomination. With early voting already underway in Ohio's March 15 primary, Democrats' choice is clear: Hillary Clinton for president.

Hillary Clinton Gets A Star Endorsement From The Leading Ladies Of Shondaland

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/hillary-clinton-shondaland-endorsement_us_56e2253ce4b0b25c91817191

The actresses salute her as a "champion for us all."

By Amber Ferguson

Producer Shonda Rhimes and the leading actresses from her various hit ABC shows endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president in a new video released Thursday.

“Scandal” star Kerry Washington, “Grey’s Anatomy” star Ellen Pompeo and “How to Get Away With Murder” star Viola Davis took turns comparing Clinton to their on-screen characters.

"Every day, I wake up and play a brilliant, complex, overqualified, get-it-done woman who obsessively fights for justice, who cares, who gives a voice to the voiceless, who gets knocked down and always gets back up," the three actresses take turns saying.

“Our characters are on television. ... But the real world has Hillary Clinton -- a bonafide rolls-up-her-sleeves, fights-for-what's-right, in-it-for-you, won't-back-down, champion for us all," the women continue.

The ad ends with them saying, “I’m with Hillary.”
