Feeling the Bern
Feeling the Bern's JournalIdiotic Trump quote of the moment: 9/11 > Pearl Harbor BC great people died, not just soldiers
On Monday, Donald Trump made a quick stop in Buffalo to get one last dig in at veterans before the New York primary. In a speech meant to pander to what he referred to as New York values, Trump declared that 9/11 was the worst attack in our nations history (and he remembered not to call it 7/11 this time).
Still, it wouldnt be a Donald Trump speech without him finding the most callous and horrible way to say something. So he was quick to clarify that 9/11 was worse than Pearl Harbor because civilians died, not just military.
This was the worst hit that our country has ever taken, worse than Pearl Harbor, because when they attacked Pearl Harbor at least it was military. This was civilians. These were great people. Everybody in this room practically knew somebody that died or somebody that was horribly injured during that terrible day.
Apparently the 2,403 men and women who died at Pearl Harbor somehow werent great people. Yes, he was just trying to stroke the egos of New Yorkers, but to say that somehow the death of military personnel is less tragic because they were voluntarily serving their country is a huge slap in the face to both veterans and current members of the armed forces. These were American lives lost in a horrific and terrible way. Not only does Trump try to make it a competition, but he does so by belittling the memory of Pearl Harbor, by implying that the lives lost there were less significant.
And this asshole could become our next president
Anyone want to take Ann Coulter up on her threat?
With record ratings for her television interview with Diane Sawyer on ABCs 20/20, Caitlyn Jenners public revelation of her transitioning from male to female brought considerable attention on the world of the transgendered those born with the body of one gender, but the heart, mind and soul of another. Jenner, an American celebrity first recognized for his gold medal-winning triumph in the Olympic decathlon in 1976, re-emerged in the spotlight several years ago with the E! Television series Keeping up with the Kardashians as the stepfather to celebrity-personalities Kim Kardashian and her siblings. That celebrity status and the declaration of his transgender transformation have resulted in an upcoming E! Television docuseries focused exclusively on Jenner.
Being dead center in the publics eye is nothing new for Jenner, but its a spotlight that other attention-starved celebrities feel is dimming their own respective spotlights. With that in mind, conservative political firebrand, columnist and author Ann Coulter has publicly stated that for all intents and purposes, I am a woman, too. This statement, a direct quote from Jenners 20/20 interview announcing his embrace of his life as a female, was met with little immediate fanfare.
Shortly after quoting the former Olympian, Coulter continued defending her femininity via Facebook post: Lately my attention has turned to numerous comments and statements that are trying to also classify me as transgender. Ive been reading things like Shes got an Adams apple, she has no boobs, her feet are too big for a woman, etc. Even though I find these comments utterly ridiculous and have no idea where they come from, I wish to make it clear I am 100% a woman.
However, the author didnt stop there: However, in the interest of protecting myself and those I care about, I hereby announce that I will sue every single person, internet provider, website and TV station that say or refer to me as transgender in any way. This is a decision I have made easily, and stand by it all the way.
Anyone want to call out her bluff?
Satire: First Shipment Of Thoughts And Prayers Departs NOLA For Earthquake Affected Countries
Both countries have been affected by strong earthquakes in the last week, and the generosity of Louisiana residents was clear as almost 1.5 million thoughts and prayers were donated to the American Red Cross in the past five days alone, all of which will definitely help victims in rebuilding their lives.
A small ceremony was held at the airport prior to the flights departure, in which New Iberia resident Joni Breaux, official world record holder for Most Prayers Sent Via Facebook cut a ribbon to mark the beginning of the aid shipments.
Just for laughs

Is it just me or have you also noticed less and less pro-HRC postings on DU?
The Camp Weathervane people seem do go into random posts, lob a bomb, get a massive counter attack and then disappear.
The pro-Bernie posts are rampant, but the pro-HRC ones have almost disappeared.

Psst. . .Revisionist Goldwater Girl, Kissinger Lover, Wal-mart board Member HRC. . .let's talk HIV
in the 1980s
Nancy and Saint Ronnie of Raygun did nothing, because the moral majority leader like Falwell and Robertson said it was a disease sent as punishment from Gawd for immoral "lifestyles."
You know who did something about HIV/AIDS in the 1980s: Ryan White.
Freddie Mercury
Rock Hudson
Magic Johnson
Even Easy E did something to break the stigma. Your Goddess Nancy did shit and fuck all.
So, not only are you a GOldwater Girl, a Kissinger lover and a former Wal-mart board member that did nothing to stop their union busting and worker exploitation, you're an Alex P. Keaton Reagan Democrat.
You HRD shills needs to explain in simple language why I shiould give this hypocrite my vote in the general if she is the nominee. She is turning into everything I stand again. REpublican v. Republican Lite!
Comic Savage Weiner : Scalia Was Murdered By A CIA Hired Hooker as per nat'l enquirer
Michael has a brand new twist in a fable that has making the rounds of the wing-nut wacko circuit. You know, the one where the Big O has Justice Scalia whacked for whatever the reason du jour happens to be. Michael has figured out who done it.
Well, in fairness, Michael didnt actually figure it out all by his lonesome. He was tipped off by .wait for it ..a supermarket tabloid. But not just any supermarket tabloid, this came straight from the (nether) mouth of the Big Daddy of them all The National Enquirer.
What a fucking tool.
More dumbfuckery from Red States: This time. . .raw milk in West Virginia
While some claim that its just a coincidence, health officials have launched a probe looking into the situation after an anonymous complaint was filed at the state Department of Health and Human Resources.
