Williams was one of the worst managed companies in the country in the 1990s.

Looks as if the company is up to its old tricks, turning down an offer that is 33% greater than its current stock price.

I worked for Monsanto for more than twenty years.

It was once a very good company to work for. Those days more than twenty years ago, before all the businesses other than agriculture were dropped.

Ah, Pogo. Walt Kelly (1971-1973).

"I have met the enemy and he is us."

Thank you for your reply

What trickier stuff?

I majored in mathematics in college and took twenty-one semester credit hours my first year. That included summer school. The most math I took in one semester as an undergraduate was nine hours. Fifty-four credit hours total after three years out of a total of 120 hours.

It was history phobia for me -- the last two undergraduate courses I took were history courses. Took them after starting graduate school.

Being new to this, I will have to get up to speed.

Until I googled after reading your post, I did not know that Earl Holt III was a white supremacist -- which, presumably, makes the Council of Conservative Citizens a white supremacist organization.

Any idea of the percentage of white conservatives that are racists? How much does it vary between different regions of the country? Where can I find out?

No, it doesn’t bother me, not if

the description is accurate -- and it is made only after the shooter is identified.

“There is nothing strange about being an introvert or being quiet.” If it it is true that all mass murderers are quiet or introverts or both, then perhaps there is something strange about it. If that is known to be the case, it might be useful in determining who should and who should not be allowed to purchase firearms. (I favor national gun registration laws.)

My preference, though, is that firearms be removed from civilian hands altogether. That’s the only way we will be able to stop gun violence. I loathe firearms of any kind. With good reason. The fewer people who have them the better.

I see no good reason for anyone to have firearms other than the military and law enforcement officers. Let the gun nuts find other hobbies.

Not meaning to be or sound impertinent,

but I’m new here and am unfamiliar with your previous posts. Whom do you see as the real enemy to America? There's not enough in your post above for me to discern what you have in mind.

Thank you.
