Ana Navarro lays waste to Scottie Nell Hughes for trying to whitewash Trump’s gross behavior

Source: The Raw Story

The fallout from Donald Trump bragging about women’s genitals is still dominating cable news, and Trump’s surrogates are still flailing away trying to defend him.

On CNN’s New Day Monday morning, Trump supporter Scottie Nell Hughes said that the words Trump used to describe women’s genitals were “derogatory” and were “not allowed” to be said in her own home.

Fellow panelist Ana Navarro quickly pounced and pointed out that Hughes is still supporting Trump for president despite the fact that he says things like this on a regular basis.

“Do you not see the irony in saying that these words are unacceptable to you… and yet you are willing to come on TV be an apologist for a candidate who is running for the highest office in the land, and yet is saying these words,” Navarro said. “Apparently, Scottie, when Donald Trump says ‘pussy,’ he’s referring to a baby cat.”

I'm definitely no republican fan, but I love how Ana has been bitching out Trumpsters.

Another Newspaper Breaks Conservative Tradition With Endorsement Of Hillary Clinton

Source: The Huffington Post

The Columbus Dispatch broke from a centurylong tradition of endorsing Republican presidential nominees on Sunday when it announced its support for Democrat Hillary Clinton in this year’s election.

“For us, the choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump is not pleasant, but it isn’t difficult,” the Dispatch editorial board wrote. “Republican candidate Donald Trump is unfit to be president of the United States. Democrat Hillary Clinton, despite her flaws, is well-equipped for the job.”

“The Dispatch traditionally has endorsed Republican presidential candidates, but Trump does not espouse or support traditional Republican values, such as fiscal prudence, limited government and free trade, not to mention civility and decency,” the board continued. “We are disappointed that so many Republican leaders have accommodated a narcissistic, morally bankrupt candidate who is so clearly out of step with those values.”

The announcement came just weeks after the Cincinnati Enquirer, another major newspaper in Ohio, endorsed Clinton on the grounds that her opponent, Republican Donald Trump, presented “a clear and present danger” to the United States.

CNN contributor unloads on Trump surrogate for asking her not to repeat Trump's explicit language

Source: The Hill

A CNN contributor ripped a Donald Trump surrogate for telling her on the air not repeat one of the bad words Trump used in a newly leaked tape from 2005.

In the tape, Trump can be heard bragging about being able to do anything to a woman thanks to his star power, including groping them in the “p---y.”

“Every single Republican is going to have to answer the question, 'What did you do the day you saw the tape of this man boasting about grabbing a women’s p---y,'” Ana Navarro, a GOP strategist, told a CNN panel.

After 148 Years, The San Diego Union-Tribune Endorses A Democrat For President

The editorial board fears that Donald Trump could be America’s Hugo Chávez.
09/30/2016 05:04 pm ET

The historically conservative San Diego Union-Tribune has endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton over her “vengeful, dishonest and impulsive” Republican opponent, Donald Trump.

The Union-Tribune announced Friday morning it would support a Clinton presidency, despite having never endorsed a Democrat in the paper’s 148-year-history.

The change in course stems from the high stakes of this election, the editorial board said in its endorsement.

“Terrible leaders can knock nations off course. Trump could be our Chávez,” it wrote, referring to Hugo Chávez, the controversial former president of Venezuela. “We cannot take that risk.”

(Others have drawn parallels between Trump and Chávez, including Venezuelan author Alberto Barrera Tyszka, who wrote this month in The New York Times that Trump and Chávez are both “expert provocateurs.”)

Instead, The Union-Tribune has chosen to back Clinton because she is “the safe choice for the U.S. and for the world, for Democrats and Republicans alike.”

In its full endorsement, which you can read here, the editorial board envisions a Trump presidency that “ruins U.S. trustworthiness” and has “an open enemies list.”

Hillary Clinton not feeling well, leaves 9/11 event early
By Shimon Prokupecz, Dan Merica and Jeff Zeleny, CNN
Updated 11:12 AM ET, Sun September 11, 2016

(CNN)Updated 11:10 am: "Secretary Clinton attended the September 11th Commemoration Ceremony for just one hour and 30 minutes this morning to pay her respects and greet some of the families of the fallen. During the ceremony, she felt overheated so departed to go to her daughter's apartment, and is feeling much better," Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said in a statement.

Original post: Hillary Clinton came to the ground zero memorial service not feeling well and then she decided to leave the event, a senior law enforcement official briefed on the episode tells CNN. The pool accompanying Clinton says she left the ceremony around 9:30 am.
While she was making her way into a van in her motorcade, Secret Service agents helped her into the van in the motorcade, the official said.

Trump Boasts About Watching ‘Top Secret’ Iran Video Immediately After Becoming Eligible To Receive Classified Briefings

His vivid description raised questions about whether he disclosed classified material.
08/03/2016 07:12 pm ET | Updated 3 hours ago

Donald Trump on Wednesday described vivid details from a video he said he had watched earlier in the day of Iranian officials unloading cash from an airplane. The money was part of a payment, announced earlier this year, from the U.S. to Iran to settle a decades-old dispute over an incomplete weapons sale.

“I’ll never forget the scene this morning,” Trump told the crowd in Daytona Beach, Florida, of what he said he had watched. “Iran ― I don’t think you’ve heard this anywhere but here ― Iran provided all of that footage, the tape, of taking that money off that airplane.

“Over there, where that plane landed, top secret, they don’t have a lot of paparazzi, you know,” Trump said. “The paparazzi doesn’t do so well over there.” But “they have a perfect tape, obviously done by a government camera, and the tape is of the people taking the money off the plane. It’s a military tape. It’s a tape that was a perfect angle, nice and steady.”

No publicly available video matches what Trump described. This raises the possibility that Trump was either fabricating the contents of a non-existent video, or he was disclosing information to which he has newly been granted access.

Trump’s description of the “top secret” tape came just days after the Republican presidential nominee became eligible to receive classified intelligence briefings ― a privilege afforded to the nominees of the two major political parties in order to prepare them, should they win the White House.

BIG MOUTH: Trump Blabs Top Secret Info From Intelligence Briefings At Campaign Rally
Posted at 9:00 pm on August 3, 2016 by Ben Howe

There is zero part of me that has ever thought he is the type of guy who could keep a secret. He's proven this several times by disclosing the contents of off-the-record meetings and private conversations in order to get digs in on people who had "wronged" him.

Unfortunately, as a candidate for president, Trump is granted access to top secret intelligence briefings in preparation for the possibility that he will be sitting in the oval office someday.

There was never any way that would end well and it appears to have already gone south, mere days after getting access as Trump described in detail an apparently top-secret video he watched.

Trump: My policies could have prevented 9/11

Source: The Hill

Donald Trump argued Wednesday that his immigration policies could have prevented the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks by keeping the hijackers from entering America in the first place.

The GOP presidential nominee brought up the issue at a rally in Daytona Beach, Fla., while rehashing a series of controversies that plagued his primary bid, specifically when he said Muslims were "dancing on the streets and the rooftops" in New Jersey celebrating the attack on the World Trade Center.

"By the way, those people who knocked down the World Trade Center, most likely under the Trump policy wouldn't have been here to knock down the World Trade Center," he said.

Roger Marshall unseats Rep. Tim Huelskamp in bitter Republican primary
Marshall: 'I'm just happy for Kansas...I think Kansas won tonight.'

For the first time in 70 years, a congressman representing the state’s 1st District was defeated in a primary as political novice Roger Marshall edged past U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp on Tuesday, ending a divisive contest between two Republicans that hinged on personality rather than policy.

“I truly am speechless,” Marshall said in an interview. “I’m just happy for Kansas...I think Kansas won tonight.”

Marshall said he and his wife were gearing up for a late night Tuesday after polling showed the race between himself and Huelskamp to be close. Instead, the margin of victory was more than a dozen percentage points.

“I’m shocked,” Marshall said. “All of our internal polling had us up one or two percent.”

Well-funded by his own pocketbook and those of donors, Marshall battled Huelskamp for more than a year across the 63-county district that covers most of the state, including its entire western half. The Great Bend obstetrician and hospital executive seized on Huelskamp’s removal from the House Agriculture Committee and opposition to the 2014 farm bill as emblematic of the congressman’s uncompromising conservatism harming constituents.

Tea Party Congressman Loses Primary
Rep. Tim Huelskamp, chairman of the Tea Party Caucus, was beaten by a GOP moderate.

Matt Fuller
Congressional Reporter, The Huffington Pos

WASHINGTON ― One of the biggest winners from the departure of ex-Speaker John Boehner is now one of the few losers in the 2016 primary season.

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas) became just the third Republican this year to lose a primary, falling Tuesday night to Roger Marshall, an obstetrician who argued he’d be a more reasonable and effective lawmaker for Kansans. Marshall’s win all but guarantees he’ll represent the safely Republican district next year.

Huelskamp, during his three terms in Congress, developed a prickly reputation for regular dissent on GOP bills, and for two votes to oust Boehner. Huelskamp was an original member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, a rambunctious group of roughly 40 conservatives who are often at odds with Republican leadership.

While Huelskamp’s loss is a blow to the Freedom Caucus, his primary race was more than just a generic GOP conservative-vs.-establishment contest.

Trump refuses to support Paul Ryan, John McCain in upcoming Republican primaries

By Philip Rucker August 2 at 4:29 PM

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is refusing to back House Speaker Paul D. Ryan in his upcoming primary election, saying in an interview Tuesday that he is “not quite there yet” in endorsing his party’s top-ranking elected official.

Trump also said he was not supporting Sen. John McCain in his primary in Arizona, and he singled out Sen. Kelly Ayotte as a weak and disloyal leader in New Hampshire, a state whose presidential primary Trump won handily.

With Ryan’s Wisconsin primary scheduled for next Tuesday, Trump praised the House speaker’s underdog opponent, Paul Nehlen, for running “a very good campaign.” Trump said that Ryan has sought his endorsement, but that as of now he is only “giving it very serious consideration.”

“I like Paul, but these are horrible times for our country,” Trump said. “We need very strong leadership. We need very, very strong leadership. And I’m just not quite there yet. I’m not quite there yet.”

Trump’s refusal to back Ryan represents an extraordinary breach of political decorum and signals that the Republican Party remains divided two weeks after a national convention in Cleveland staged to showcase party unity.
