GOP congressman who worked with DeSantis proudly votes against him

By Oliver Willis - October 31, 2018

David Jolly voted for Democrat Andrew Gillum for Florida governor, despite serving in Congress alongside Ron DeSantis.

Republican former congressman David Jolly, who represented Florida’s 13th district from 2014 to 2017, said he voted for Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial nominee Andrew Gillum, not fellow Republican Ron DeSantis.

“I’ve turned in my ballot. I voted for Andrew Gillum. The reason is simple: it’s because I’ve served with Ron DeSantis,” Jolly told the Tampa Bay Times.

Jolly also said he believes other Republican voters are backing Gillum as a way to repudiate Trump.

“I’ve spoken to Republican voters who under-voted in the 2016 presidential race because they couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Hillary Clinton. But this go-round, they’re bringing themselves to vote for Andrew Gillum,” he explained.

“I’ve turned in my ballot. I voted for Andrew Gillum. The reason is simple: it’s because I’ve served with Ron DeSantis,” Jolly told the Tampa Bay Times.

Devin Nunes calls media 'biggest problem in US' after attempted bombing

By Tommy Christopher - October 31, 2018

Just like Trump, Nunes continued to whip up hatred of the media after last week's attempted bombings.

After a string of attempted bombings that included the New York City headquarters of CNN, Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) followed Trump’s lead by attacking the press.

During an interview on the “Unfiltered Fresnocast” that was taped Saturday, Nunes told host Jim Verros, “The biggest problem we have right now in the United States of America is, we don’t have a free and fair media.”

He absurdly claimed that 90 percent of journalists are “owned by left-wing billionaires,” and that only 5 percent “are legitimate journalists.”

“And even some of those journalists are not able to get real information out there because they are owned by a billionaire of some kind, and they know if they tell the truth, they can’t get it out,”

Hey Nunes...................if the press didn't tell us about this shit...........................would you have ................don't think so, even the Fresno Bee thinks your not qualified to be a Congressman.......................I think your enabling traitor

GOP's terrible record on health care could flip a key Ohio seat blue

By Dan Desai Martin October 31, 2018

Voters say health care is their top concern, and overwhelmingly trust Democrats like Danny O'Connor on the issue — not Republicans like Rep. Troy Balderson.

In places like Ohio’s 12th Congressional District, where Republican Rep. Troy Balderson barely won an August special election by fewer than 2,000 votes, the issue of health care could help turn a red seat blue.

Republicans in Congress voted over and over again to take away health care from millions of families and strip away protections for people with pre-existing conditions — and they’ve vowed to try again if they maintain control of Congress.

So it’s no wonder that Americans heading to the polls say they trust Democrats to protect them and their families, not Republicans.

According to a Kaiser Family Foundation poll, Democrats are more trusted on almost all aspects of health care, including: protecting people with pre-existing conditions; improving rural health care; protecting women’s access to reproductive health care; maintaining the expansion of Medicaid; and protecting the Affordable Care Act.

Disabled Woodridge teen dresses as Blackhawks bench for Halloween

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- There's a new Blackhawk on Coach Q's roster this year--at least on Halloween. He's 14-year-old Luke Fanella in his latest costume: the Blackhawks bench.

"That's where the players have to hop the boards to get to their shift...Just to see where they go and what they're doing back there is pretty cool...I wanted to be that kid that got to sit on the bench during their warmups and give them all knuckles and high-fives," said Fanella of how he picked the costume.

Trick-or-treating in Naperville, Fanella will be a player himself, on the same line as Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The gitup includes the glass, the boards and cheering fans in tow, including Luke's Uncle Jim DelGenio who built the outfit from scratch.

To all Marylander's in the First Congressional District..............Andy Harris, vote out.....

MD Dems File Ethics Complaint Against Andy Harris

Submitted by pfowler on Oct 18 2018

Annapolis, MD—The Maryland Democratic Party filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics yesterday on Congressman Andy Harris’ failure to disclose more than $26,000 in spousal income on his 2017 financial disclosure. His omission is made even more significant by the fact that Indy’s Services sources of income included Harris’ own campaign and the Maryland Republican Party.

After Democrats’ filed their complaint against Harris, The Washington Post reported that Harris’ campaign has paid Beus more than $130,000 since 2014.

“It appears Andy Harris paid his wife thousands of dollars from his campaign, then tried to hide it from government ethics regulators,” said Maryland Democratic Party chair Kathleen Matthews. “This is just more proof that Congressman Harris has become nothing more than another creature of the Washington swamp.”

Andy Harris Had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

Submitted by pfowler on Oct 19 2018

Annapolis, MD—This week, Andy Harris was criticized by the former president of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science for still doubting the existence of climate change in 2018, he lost a televised debate to Jesse Colvin, he was scrambling to respond after Maryland Democrats filed a complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics about his failure to report significant spousal income on his financial disclosure form, and The Post reported that he has paid his wife more than $130,000 from his campaign accounts—oof!

Today, after Harris claimed that there are “different projections” and “differing analysis” on climate change, former University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science president Dan Boesch called the Congressman’s doubts “bogus,” adding that “there’s no credible scientific debate about this.” Read more here.

And lets not forget that this Andy Harris character a Club for Growth lackey, Harris is a doctor mind you, that is suppose to protect and help patients, he has voted over the time since he has been office to attack the Affordable Care Act also known as as Obama Care, and someone that is endorsed by the jerk (R) Gov. Larry Hogan of MD, who has issues with his business dealings and is the leader of the Maryland Republican Party and had to know about the issue with Harris (Vote Ben Jealous).

While the sexual predator was making headlines about Birth Rights to deflect his lies

Lawrence O'Donnell nailed it about the issue that we the voters must remember, I will paraphrase................

1. The national debt went up to 1.3 trillion under his watch and the republican tax cuts, 83% of the population didn't get a thing out of the tax cut, over 15% made off like bandits

2. Mitch McConnell came out and publicly said said that if the republican's stay in power they will cut Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid to pay for the 1.3 trillion tax cut

3. The republicans will take insurance away from people with pre-existing conditions still in the Affordable Care Act that basic firewall from basic coverage

4. If the republicans stay in power in the Mid-terms it will be a condition that the voters approve and condone the actions of what the leader of there party is doing and it will get worse and they will be embolden to do more damage to this republic .......................with there lies to continue the blame game..................

Republican Campaign Mailer Fuels Anti-Semitism Complaints In State Senate Race

BY Neil Vigdor and Shawn R. BealsContact Reporters

A campaign mailer showing a Jewish candidate for state Senate with a fistful of money is drawing condemnation for what critics say is its blatant anti-Semitic imagery.

It was sent out by Republican Ed Charamut and targets state Rep. Matthew Lesser, a Democrat who gave up his seat in the House to vie for an open Senate seat representing Middletown, Wethersfield, Newington, Cromwell and Rocky Hill.

The inflammatory mailer has stoked controversy just days after 11 people were killed and six others were wounded in a synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh in what investigators have categorized as a hate crime.

It coincides with a spike in the number of reported anti-Semitic incidents across the nation, which the Anti-Defamation League says rose by 53 percent last year

Echoing Gunman's Rhetoric, Gaffney Says Soros & HIAS Aren't Victims Of Anti-Semitism

By Matt Shuham
October 30, 2018 4:08 pm
Islamophobe Frank Gaffney argued Tuesday that the Jewish philanthropist and Democratic donor George Soros and the refugee aide organization HIAS have not been the victims of anti-Semitism, despite the pipe bomb mailed to Soros last week and the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooter’s social media posts citing HIAS as a motive for allegedly killing 11 Jews.

In claiming that the two are not victims of anti-Semitism, Gaffney echoed the shooter’s online rhetoric that HIAS is responsible for bringing purportedly dangerous foreigners into the United States.

Rather than arguing the facts of the anti-Semitic ire focused against Soros and HIAS, Gaffney appeared to argue that their left-wing politics made them ineligible for such attacks. “Political violence is one, unacceptable form of political warfare. Lying for political advantage is another,” he said at the conclusion of his podcast Tuesday.

“Billionaire George Soros’ security detail got one of the so-called pipe-bombs and we’re told now he’s a ‘victim of anti-Semitism,’” Gaffney said on the podcast. “In fact, for years his funding has promoted hostility towards Israel and enabled the world’s most aggressive anti-Semites: rabid leftists and their Sharia-supremacist allies.”

I am not a network tech person at all, when it comes to podcasts and such.................but I really have to ask who is giving this POS the means to broadcast this crap over the internet or from his home, who is the service provider....................this is outrageous.........................

Bolsonaro's party launches campaign against 'indoctrinator teachers'

It comes a week after Brazilian police launched raids against universities.

OCT 30, 2018, 10:31 AM

A campaign has been launched by a newly-elected lawmaker in Jair Bolsonaro’s Social Liberal Party (PSL) to get students to denounce “indoctrinator teachers” who criticize Bolsonaro’s resounding electoral victory on Sunday.

Ana Campagnola, who was elected to for the PSL for the state legislature in the southern state of Santa Catarina, launched the campaign via Facebook on Sunday. As the Guardian reported, she urged her 70,000 followers to be on the lookout for “indoctrinator teachers” and provided a WhatsApp number so students could report “party-political or ideological expressions that humiliate or offend your freedom of faith and conscience.”

In advance of Bolsonaro’s victory in the second round of voting on Sunday — where he defeated his leftist rival Fernando Haddad by 55 to 45 percent — Brazilian media had reported that police had been entering more than a dozen universities across the country, questioning professors and confiscating left-leaning political material.

Ostensibly the raids were to target illegal electoral advertising, since it is against electoral law to advertise for candidates in public spaces in Brazil. However, according to Brazilian media the material confiscated was mostly broad, pro-Democratic statements, like flyers reading “Manifest in Defense of Democracy and Public Universities” and “Law UFF — Antifascist” (UFF refers to the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State).

The Brazilian Attorney General, Raquel Dodge, has announced an investigation into the incident. “There have been clear indications that there has been an infringement of freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and professorship,” Dodge said in a statement. “I am requesting the STF [Federal Supreme Court] to… request for an injunction to restore freedom of expression.”

GOP senate candidate's rally features speaker who urges turning 'blue wave into a blue grave'

"We need to do everything we can to turn that 'blue wave' into a blue grave."

OCT 29, 2018, 8:19 PM

A Monday campaign event for Corey Stewart, the Republican Senate candidate from Virginia and Minnesota man who is very concerned about the destruction of Confederate monuments, featured a speaker who urged conservatives “to turn that ‘blue wave’ into a blue grave.”

According to a video tweeted by Ian Sams, communications director for Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), Stewart was introduced in Lynchburg by an unidentified woman who said, “We need to do everything we can to turn that ‘blue wave’ into a blue grave.

The “blue wave” is a popular nickname for the expected backlash to President Donald Trump and Republicans in next week’s midterm elections.

Former Republican election official Brian W. Schoeneman pointed out the comments were made by Jennifer Brown, chair of the Republican Committee in Virginia’s 6th district.
