Western Screech-Owls have been visiting my yard in Tucson during the recent heat-wave. They love the waterhole and have been using it to drink and take baths:

Last week there was a human-caused wildfire near Elgin, Arizona. Yesterday I was able to capture some aerial video of the burn site as well as areas where the aerial crew laid down fire retardant:

I was surprised to see this 5' + coachwhip snake ignore all the birds and bunnies at her side. There's a lesson here somewhere:
