Does this make sense to anyone else, or just ME?

Me trying to explain the Republican base in a comment on another decidedly leftist website.

The Republican base is mainly composed of very low information voters, which would be bad enough if they were not also constantly being given misinformation about who they should hate, be afraid of, and on and on, by the right-wing echo chamber.

And while they are blaming everyone else for their problems, the rich laugh their asses off and become richer while the commoners fight over the scraps.

Perry and Trump trade shots over border security

(CNN)Rick Perry on Thursday slammed Republican presidential rival Donald Trump for "a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense" on immigration and said he has a "fundamental misunderstanding" about securing the border.

"What Mr. Trump is offering is not conservatism, it is Trump-ism -- a toxic mix of demagoguery and nonsense," the former Texas governor said in a statement.

In a Twitter response on Thursday, Trump not only criticized Perry's ability to secure the border, but his intelligence, as well.

"@GovernorPerry failed on the border. He should be forced to take an IQ test before being allowed to enter the GOP debate, Trump tweeted.

The Republican Primary reminds me of middle school, and not the good memories...

New pictures relayed by the first spacecraft to visit distant Pluto show odd polygon-shaped features and smooth hills in an crater-free plain, indications that the icy world is geologically active, New Horizons scientists said on Friday.

“We had no idea that Pluto would have a geologically young surface,” said lead researcher Alan Stern, with the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. “It’s a wonderful surprise.”
