Republicans In Full Melt Down As Trump Refuses To Quit Race

source: Politics Usa

Donald Trump refused to drop out of the race for the Republican nomination today and confirmed that he may run as an Independent if he does not win the Republican nomination.

Transcript from ABC’s This Week:

RADDATZ: So let me just get this clear. You are not apologizing. And you are certainly not pulling out of the race as some of your opponents have suggested.

TRUMP: Of course they’d love to have me do that because I’m leading the pack. I’m certainly not pulling out; I’m leading and I’m leading in many states. North Carolina just came in; I’m way in the lead there. Nevada, as I said, just came in. I’m way in the lead there. And, interestingly, in Nevada, I lead in Hispanics by a tremendous — the Hispanics, I’m way into the 30s with Hispanics. Which I said, if I get the nomination, if I run for president, I will win the Hispanic vote, because I’ll be able to take jobs back from China, jobs back from Japan and Mexico, and everybody else that’s ripping us off on trade. And everybody knows that. And I will win the Hispanic vote.

RADDATZ: So you think this will actually help you? This is involving veterans and you heard what I said about those veterans groups. You still think this will help you in the polls?

Hillary Clinton Suggests the Minimum Wage Is a Local Issue

Source: Truthdig

Though she has declined to say what she thinks is the ideal national minimum wage, the Democratic presidential candidate has implied that it might differ from place to place—and thus she would not push for an increase if she were president.

The Guardian reports:

“I support the local efforts that are going on that are making it possible for people working in certain localities to actually earn $15,” Clinton said in a response to a question from a BuzzFeed News reporter on Thursday while campaigning in New Hampshire.

“I think part of the reason that the Congress and very strong Democratic supporters of increasing the minimum wage are trying to debate and determine what’s the national floor is because there are different economic environments. And what you can do in Los Angeles or in New York may not work in other places.”

Democrats in Congress have put forward proposals in the House and the Senate to raise the federally mandated minimum wage to $12 an hour by 2020. The federal minimum wage has been $7.25 since July 2009. While she has previously said that US wages need to be higher, Clinton has not yet revealed whether she is more inclined to support a national minimum wage of $12 an hour that of $15 an hour.

Anyone from the New Orleans area?

I am looking to move to NOLA and buy a modest house. I am looking for information about neighborhoods that are considered safer than others and ones to avoid. If you have first hand knowledge of your city, please share.

Thank you in advance.

What Your Favorite Political Leaders Would Look Like As Hipsters

Source: Huffpo

Being a world leader, we can only assume, takes up a lot of time. So we totally understand that political figures past and present, from Abe Lincoln to Che Guevara to Hillary Clinton, haven't quite had room in their schedules to keep up with the latest trends and adjust their signature looks accordingly.

But what if, in some alternate universe, your favorite politicians took a hiatus from their legislative duties to update their haircuts, wardrobes and tattoo games? Artist Amit Shimoni imagines such a world in his illustrated series "Hipstory." And though they may not be accomplishing quite as much in the way of political activism or diplomacy, we have to admit they look damn good.

Barack Obama

Barack Obama sports a dreadlocked topknot while Hillary Clinton opts for a candy-colored ombré cut. George Washington flaunts an eagle chest tattoo peeking out from atop his low-cut tee, and Ronald Reagan sports a flashy diamond stud.
