SO sad! Some "Fox News Insiders" are not pleased with the hiring of Kayliegh Whackadoodle.

“It is my distinct pleasure today to welcome Kayleigh Mcenany to the Fox family,” anchor Harris Faulkner said Tuesday morning after wrapping an on-air interview with the former Trump flack. “We will be seeing much more of her in the future.”

Fox News did not respond when asked for comment.

The addition of a known and frequent liar to the Fox News roster set off some alarms within a newsroom that has been “purged” in recent months in favor of right-wing opinion programming and content geared towards keeping a diehard MAGA audience satisfied.

“It’s truly disgusting they fired hard-working journalists who did care about facts and news reporting only to turn around and hire a mini-Goebbels whose incessant lies from the White House helped incite an insurrection on our democracy that got five people killed, including a police officer,” a Fox News insider raged to The Daily Beast. “Post-Trump Fox is quickly becoming a very scary place and quite dangerous for our democracy. It’s not even conservative news anymore. They’ve plunged into an alternate reality where extremist propaganda is the only course on the menu.”

Trump at CPAC sealed the deal, there really IS no turning back.

Of course, you could say January 6th was the deal breaker, or McConnell saying he'd "certainly" support Trump as the candidate in 2024.

Mission Accomplished, Cheetolini. We now have the Democratic Party, and the Party of Trump. The Republican Party no longer exists, and the majority of Congress members who are NOT on the "Trump train" are STILL top frigging terrified to stand up and purge him.

REGARDLESS of whether he runs, it will be Biden (if he chooses to run for a second term) versus Trumpism.

And my feeling is that the voters who turned out in 2020 will turn out again, and this time they'll bring friends. America knows what this clown, in person or by proxy, would do in the Oval Office. It's not going to happen.

I think it's safe to say that we can retire the "unity" concept

1). The Neera Tanden confirmation...we can't possibly confirm someone who sent "mean tweets"

2). Mike Lee at the Merrick Garland hearing, grilling him...unsuccessfully...about Anti-Semitism

3). Mitch McConnell saying that he's "sure Americans would like a $1400 check, but they don't know what's in the bill," and it's his duty to block it

We need to build our House and Senate majorities to the point where we aren't holding our breath over how Joe Manchin will vote.

If I saw any evidence of an attempt at "unity" on the Republicans' part, I'd acknowledge it.

My heart is breaking over the Supreme Court's denial of Velveeta Khrushchev's "emergency appeal."

Pete Williams on MSNBC:

"it means he's out of office. Remember, he tried once before when he was in the White House saying, 'I'm president, you can't trust me, I'm immune from the criminal process, including grand jury subpoenas.' And the Supreme Court rejected that argument by a vote of 7 to 2. Both the two Trump appointees on the court at the time voted with the majority. So, the president's lawyers went back to the court and said, 'okay, the problem with the subpoena is it's too broad. It's too much. Well, they lost in the trial court. They lost in the court of appeals. They went to the Supreme Court last October with an emergency appeal, saying please stop this until we can get up there and argue the case on the merits."

"And finally today, the Supreme Court said 'nope, we're denying this emergency application,'" Williams continued. "So it's over. The president is out of legal options to try to stop this. Remember, what the grand jury wants is about eight or are nine years of the president's corporation and personal tax returns from his accountants. The accountants already said we will do whatever the courts say so expect this material to be turned over within a matter of days. We don't know exactly what side Cy Vance investigated, whether he understated his assets in order to invade taxes and possible insurance fraud, but now it's over. This material has to be turned over."

We need to ignore Pilgrimages to Mar-a-Lago and pursue OUR agenda with ferocity and determination.

I AM ALREADY sick of the headlines.

-> Kevin McCarthy goes to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring

-> Lindsey Graham goes to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring and plead with Trump to make nice with McConnell

->Gaetz & Boebert head to Mar-a-Lago for fundraiser and will most likely also kiss the ring while they are there

McConnell's saying he doesn't care what the fuck ANY Republican "believes" as long as they are "electible," because the Senate Minority Leader thing is killing him. Thoughts and prayers!

We have TWO YEARS to shatter ALL of those "dreams." If OUR burning desire is for McConnell to REMAIN "Senate Minority Leader" is AS STRONG or STRONGER than HIS desire to get back his title, it will be Turtle Soup Part II in 2022.

We need to hold on to the same determination we had in November for the next two years and then ACT on it.

In the meantime, FUCK Trump, FUCK McConnell, FUCK Cruz, FUCK Gaetz, FUCK Boebert, FUCK Greene, FUCK 'EM ALL.

The media is showing an unhealthy fascination for the machinations of McConnell, Trump, and Republicans in general. It's clickbait. And I'm not having any part of it. I want to add seats to the House and Senate in 2022 and have the last two years of President Biden's first term become...to quote that noted political analyst Samuel L Jackson..."a mushroom cloud laying motherfucker."

We can DO this. We NEED to do this.

Let's fucking DO this.

Mar-a-Lago peace czar Lindsey Graham does as much for SC as Cruz does for TX.

I've struggled to see what, exactly, Graham does FOR South Carolina. I'm still looking.

And because Trump wants to talk about Mitch's wife and Mitch's chins, Lindsey is going to go play golf with Trump and kiss his ass and beg for him to help Mitch re-take the Senate, and Republicans re-take the House.

All of which will last five minutes until the 74 year old man-baby thinks up a "perfect" nickname for McConnell and can't wait to share it.

Meanwhile, Lindsey...I just don't get it.

Manhattan D.A. Recruits Top Prosecutor for Trump Inquiry

Manhattan D.A. Recruits Top Prosecutor for Trump Inquiry

The Manhattan district attorney has enlisted a former federal prosecutor who is an expert on white-collar crime to join the team investigating the Trump family business.

As the Manhattan district attorney’s office steps up the criminal investigation of Donald J. Trump, it has reached outside its ranks to enlist a prominent former federal prosecutor to help scrutinize financial dealings at the former president’s company, according to several people with knowledge of the matter.

The former prosecutor, Mark F. Pomerantz, has deep experience investigating and defending white-collar and organized crime cases, bolstering the team under District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. that is examining Mr. Trump and his family business, the Trump Organization.

The investigation by Mr. Vance, a Democrat, is focused on possible tax and bank-related fraud, including whether the Trump Organization misled its lenders or local tax authorities about the value of his properties to obtain loans and tax benefits, the people with knowledge of the matter said, requesting anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the investigation. Mr. Trump has maintained he did nothing improper and has long railed against the inquiry, calling it a politically motivated “witch hunt.”

In recent months, Mr. Vance’s office has broadened the long-running investigation to include an array of financial transactions and Trump properties — including Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan, various Trump hotels and the Seven Springs estate in Westchester County — as prosecutors await a ruling from the United States Supreme Court that could give them access to Mr. Trump’s tax returns.

President Biden certainly has his messaging down cold...concise, well-thought, 100% appropriate.

It's sad that we even have to think about it...it's what Presidents should do.

But what a difference.

That SHARP left turn from Melania ranting about Christmas and the "fucking children, are you kidding me" stuff to Joe and Jill planting hearts on the WH lawn and sipping coffee with their pooches.

What really struck me, though, was his statement on the impeachment hearings. This could have been an ideal opportunity to rip Trump a new one, and in his closing remarks, he said...without naming Trump:

This sad chapter in our history has reminded us that democracy is fragile. That it must always be defended. That we must be ever vigilant. That violence and extremism has no place in America. And that each of us has a duty and responsibility as Americans, and especially as leaders, to defend the truth and to defeat the lies.

We all know where the lies came from. And so does President Biden. The WAY he chose to express his thoughts really illuminates where we are right now. I have been following the "@potus" Twitter account since he took control of it. Yesterday, I followed the White House account. And it felt SO STRANGE doing that, after four years of Trump, because the words "White House" were a guaranteed face palm and "Oh no, not this shit again" response.

I'm sure his statement has been posted on DU, but here is the link for anyone who hasn't read it.

I'd say there's a 50-50 chance Lindsey is preening his feathers for a Trump/Graham 2024 ticket.

Setting aside the reality versus fantasy aspect of it ever happening at all, there's this:

"Does Donald Trump bear any responsibility for the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6th?" Wallace asked.

"Uh, no," Graham replied. "In terms of the law, no. He bears responsibility of pushing narratives about the election that I think are not sound and not true. But this was politically protected speech. The speech on Jan. 6th was not an incitement of violence."

Before ending the interview Graham insisted that Trump and his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, are the "future" of the Republican Party.

...and WHATEVER you think about Pence, I'd be stunned in disbelief if he would go for round 2 (or if Trump would want him at all after failing his "loyalty" oath. I'm still of the belief that a 2024 run will be too much work and too much money for Trump. I can see him "fundraising" for it and pocketing all of the money, and not going the distance. Then again, he has a pathological obsession with "revenge," so it would be obsession versus sloth until one won over.

It's what we expected, folks.

Facts didn't matter. We knew that. And with a 2/3 majority needed to convict, we knew it wouldn't happen.

All of the 43 Republicans who voted to acquit are now on record. Every state on the ballot in two years needs a Stacey Abrams leading the charge to elect Democrats. Until that happens, all we can expect is more of the same, until there is a 2/3 Democratic majority in the Senate.

It's not over, unless we allow that to happen. Let's not do that.

Peace and out.
