WASHINGTON ― Wall Street Journal Editor-in-Chief Gerard Baker said his newspaper would not refer to false statements from the Trump administration as lies, because doing so would ascribe a moral intent to the statements.
Baker appeared on NBCs Meet The Press Sunday, where he described some of President-elect Donald Trumps falsehoods as questionable and challengeable. But, he said, Id be careful about using the word lie. Lie implies much more than just saying something thats false. It implies a deliberate intent to mislead.
He said reporters should state the facts, but leave classifying them to readers, citing the example of Trumps claim that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey were celebrating on 9/11 (which is false).
I think its then up to the reader to make up their own mind to say, This is what Donald Trump says. This is what a reliable, trustworthy news organization reports. And you know what? I dont think thats true.
The New York Times editorial board has used lie to describe Trumps rampant abuse of facts. And Washington Post conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin has taken the media to task for not using the word. Other outlets ― including MSNBC, New York Magazine and HuffPost ― will use the word when its merited.

WSJ Editor: Calling Trump's lies "lies" implies "a deliberate intent to mislead"

"Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski from MSNBCs Morning Joe were also there."
Since Mr. Trumps victory in November, Mar-a-Lago has been stuffed with guests attracted by an amenity unique to this club: the chance to rub shoulders with the next president.
Its like going to Disneyland and knowing Mickey Mouse will be there all day long, said Jeff Greene, a developer and unsuccessful Democratic candidate for the Senate from Florida in 2010, who is a Mar-a-Lago member and was a Hillary Clinton supporter.
Instead of hosting major corporate executives and potential Cabinet secretaries for interviews inside a boxy transition office at Trump Tower in New York, Mr. Trump has been seated at an ornately designed couch, upholstered in pale fabric laced with gold, beneath a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, a scene resembling a mansion in Sunset Boulevard or Citizen Kane, two of Mr. Trumps favorite movies.
Howie Carr, a conservative radio host who was supportive of Mr. Trump, roamed the crowd, with Mr. Carr posting on Twitter that his daughter asked Mr. Trump if she could be an intern in the White House. Mr. Trumps two adult sons, Eric and Don Jr., posed for photographs. Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski from MSNBCs Morning Joe were also there.

Almost 1 year since we lost David Bowie, and this is how I choose to remember him
I own most of his music...everything from "Space Oddity" to "Blackstar."
And because many of his concepts / personas were so wild and complex, it's hard to remember sometimes that he had a simple, charming, biting wit about him.
This clip with Ricky Gervais may very well be the single greatest "rock star cameo" performance I've ever seen.
Here's to you, Mr. Jones.
