This 120-Pound Woman Ate 3 72-Ounce Steak Meals in 20 Minutes
This 120-Pound Woman Ate 3 72-Ounce Steak Meals in 20 Minutes
http://www.thedailymeal.com/news/eat/120-pound-woman-ate-3-72-ounce-steak-meals-20-minutes/042015
You know what they say in the eating competition world: its not the size of the man that counts, but the steel in his stomach. Or, in this case, the size of the woman. Molly Schuyler, a well-known competitive eater and 120-pound mother of four, took on a seemingly impossible task: to eat three giant steak dinners in under one hour at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. Not only did Molly clean her plate (which consisted of three 72-ounce steaks, three baked potatoes, three shrimp cocktails, three salads, and three rolls), but she did it all in just under 20 minutes, according to the Amarillo Globe-News. This means that she ate almost one-tenth of her body weight in steak in less than 20 minutes quite an accomplishment indeed. According to the Big Texan challenge, she got her meal free (and then some!).
Weve seen a lot of things come through these doors but Molly... she takes the cake... she takes lots and lots of cake, Bobby Lee, Big Texan co-owner, told the Amarillo Globe-News.
Schuyler is no stranger to competitive eating. Shes the number one independent female competitive eater in the world, according to her Facebook page, and she even broke the famous Joey Jaws Chestnuts record at a previous Big Texan Steak Ranch challenge, where she consumed one of the 72-ounce steak dinners in under five minutes in May 2014.
Schuyler told USA Today that she looks forward to breaking her own record next year with the addition of a fourth steak dinner.

Neil Young Announces Monsanto-Themed LP Recorded With Willie Nelson's Sons
Neil Young Announces Monsanto-Themed LP Recorded With Willie Nelson's Sons
Neil Young has teamed up with Promise of the Real, a band featuring Lukas and Micah Nelson (sons of the legendary Willie Nelson), to record an album titled The Monsanto Years, as Rolling Stone reports. As you might guess, the album is composed of songs criticizing food industry giant Monsanto, which Young has spoken out against for years. The record will be out June 16, with Young and Promise of the Real touring to support it. (Band of Horses will open on a handful of dates.) Check out their schedule below.
Some songs that might appear on the album debuted at a recent show in San Luis Obispo, California. They include titles such as "Rock Starbucks", "Monsanto Years", "Too Big to Fail", and "Seeds", as fan site Sugar Mountain points out. Below, you can watch a few videos from that show, comprising some of the new songs along with older ones like "Walk On", via Stereogum.

Apparently Hillary Clinton Didnt Leave Anything in the Tip Jar at Chipotle
People were fascinated that Hillary Clinton went unnoticed on her New York Chipotle jaunt, but now managers say she did not tip

Hillary Clinton made waves this week when, shortly after her 2016 presidential campaign announcement, she took a trip to the Maumee, Ohio, Chipotle. Initially, the Twitterverse was baffled that no one recognized the well-known Democrat leader, but now, the manager at the Chipotle in question has admitted that not only did Clinton not pay for her own lunch (Huma Abedin, the vice chairwoman of her presidential campaign, took care of that), but she did not leave a tip in the tip jar.
The order, a chicken burrito bowl, chicken salad, blackberry Izzy, and a soda, came to $20, and Abedin left $21, which, last time we checked, totally counts as a tip.
"We get a bunch of tips," said manager Charles Wright, who only realized that the customer had been the presidential candidate after news organizations began calling, told Bloomberg, and later clarified that he didnt care if she left a tip or not. If we're doing our job right, people tip."
Talking head Rush Limbaugh was extremely interested in Clintons tipping habits, saying on his show, "Thats where the people that work at Chipotle, that's where they make a little extra, in the tip jar, and I haven't heard a word about whether or not she visited the tip jar, whether she put anything in it or not."

Joan Jett Delivers Blistering Rock Hall Set With Dave Grohl, Miley Cyrus, Tommy James
Joan Jett Delivers Blistering Rock Hall Set With Dave Grohl, Miley Cyrus
http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/joan-jett-delivers-blistering-rock-hall-set-with-dave-grohl-miley-cyrus-20150418
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts opened up this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony with a punk-inflected set, bolstered by some high-profile guests.
The singer, who wore a black leather jacket, began her set with the anthem "Bad Reputation," set against black & white pics of her flipping the bird. Once the song was done, she welcomed some surprising guests onstage Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and original Blackhearts bassist Gary Ryan for a snarling rendition of the Runaways' "Cherry Bomb."
For her next number, her hit cover of Tommy James and the Shondells' "Crimson & Clover," she welcomed a "friend of mine": Tommy James. And, because that's not enough, Miley Cyrus who inducted the rocker into the Hall chimed in on the refrain. (Cyrus would later tell a story about smoking weed with Jett in a hotel bathroom, deeming her "what a superwoman really should be."
Grohl had words of praise for Jett last year, when she helped him out for his induction. "She's everything that Nirvana stood for," Grohl said of Joan Jett in 2014, after Ms. "Bad Reputation" herself joined him and Nirvana-mate Krist Novoselic for a blast through "Smells Like Teen Spirit" at last year's induction. "She's a powerful, rebellious, musical force of nature. We couldn't think of anyone better to join us." Grohl previously co-wrote "Any Weather" with Jett for her 2013 album Unvarnished.

No one loves grapes as much as this adorable, chubby-cheeked bat.
Video footage shows the female grey-headed flying fox, which was apparently being nursed back to health at an animal care facility, gleefully stuffing her face without a care in the world.
According to the video's description, she loves to stuff her chubby cheeks with her favorite treat: green grapes, red grapes any grapes,' Mashable reports.
The YouTube video's description notes that the bat is not a pet, but rather, a wild animal who was rescued, nursed back to health, and released, fatter and healthier, and still pregnant, about 6 weeks after she was rescued, almost dead.

At the conclusion of the food challenge she announced she would be participating in, actress Gwyneth Paltrow has admitted failure.
In fact, she failed a measly four days in, the confessed on her popular lifestyle website, Goop. Paltrow noted that she broke and had some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black licorice).
The goal, as part of the New York City Food Bank Challenge, was to live off the citys meager $29 food stamp allowance for one week in order to raise awareness and funds for the citys food banks.
Paltrow accepted the challenge from her pal Mario Batali on Twitter last week, including posting a photo of the $24.40 worth of groceries she had purchased, details the NY Daily News.

Chris Christie VOWS that he will CRACK DOWN on the evil "gateway drug," MARY J WARNER. You HIPPIES!
Chris Christie vows to 'crack down' on marijuana as president
By Z. Byron Wolf, CNN

Hewitt: Right now, we've got the states of Colorado and Washington flaunting federal law by allowing people to sell dope legally. If you're the President of the United States, are you going to enforce the federal drug laws in those states?
Christie: Absolutely. I will crack down and not permit it.
Hewitt: All right, next ...
Christie: Marijuana is a gateway drug. We have an enormous addiction problem in this country. And we need to send very clear leadership from the White House on down through the federal law enforcement. Marijuana is an illegal drug under federal law. And the states should not be permitted to sell it and profit from it.

Rand Paul didn't need to go all the way to New Hampshire to prove that he's a clueless KNOB.
Sorry for the Fox link...once again I am too damned lazy to look for the story from another source.
Kentucky GOP Sen. Rand Paul knows he must broaden his appeal to become his partys 2016 presidential nominee. But in New Hampshire on Saturday, Paul largely stuck to his core, libertarian-oriented message about the dangers of an over-reaching government that spies on Americans and gets too involved in far-flung civil wars.
Paul on Saturday also took aim at the Obama administration for what he considers having gotten too close to the ongoing conflict in Libya, where four Americans were killed in 2013 during terror attacks on a U.S. outpost in the city of Benghazi.
Why the hell did we ever go in to Libya in the first place? Paul asked. I think it was a mistake to be in Libya. It was a disaster. We never should have been there.
The United States has since pulled all personnel out of Libya, which has now descended into deeper turmoil as rival governments and militias battle for control.
