Miles Archer's JournalMichigan driver charged with murder files $10 million lawsuit against Uber
The Uber driver in Michigan charged with murdering six people last month in a shooting spree has filed a $10 million federal civil rights lawsuit against the ride-sharing company, saying that it is Uber's fault he is in prison, court records show.
Jason Dalton, 45, filed the two-page, handwritten lawsuit against Uber in U.S. District Court in Detroit UBER.UL on Tuesday, saying the company ruined his life and never invited him to any "corporate parties."
"Uber doesn't care about its drivers. We are peasants and pawn pieces to Uber's bottom line," Dalton wrote, adding that the company discriminates against him because of his mental health. "I'm currently in prison because of Uber."
Dalton wrote that he is seeking a jury trial and would represent himself in court.

I'll post a video, and it shows up in the posts on the V&M page, but not in "Latest Videos" on the front page. The only thing I can think of is others posting at the same time, and my time stamp is at the bottom. Thanks.
Cruz GANKS McConnell on Senate floor, July 2015. McConnell is now sending him a message.
A little insight into why Cruz is hated by his own party, and won't be Presedentin'.The establishment GOP in Washington DC may want to stop Donald Trump from being their partys nominee, but the party wont support Senator Ted Cruzs campaign until he apologizes for insulting members of the leadership.

The Night Keith Richards Pulled a Knife Over a Disagreement With Donald Trump
Concert promoter Michael Cohl told Pollstar last year that the partnership, forged during a blockbuster reunion tour in support of the bands Steel Wheels album, specifically limited involvement by the current Republican Party front-runner. But Trump, Cohl said, inserted himself into the promotional push for the event anyway sending Keith Richards nearly over the edge.
Keith pulls out his knife and slams it on the table and says, What the hell do I have you for? Do I have to go over there and fire him myself? One of us is leaving the building either him or us,' Cohl remembered the Stones guitarist telling him. I said, No. Ill go do it. Dont you worry.'
***
Cohl even made Trump agree not to attend the show, but the real-estate businessman went off script. At 6PM on concert night, Cohl discovered Trump in the venue press room, holding court with reporters. A terse discussion resulted in Trump promising to stop talking to the media, Cohl said.
But once the promoter left, Trump resumed his news conference and that prompted Richards angry ultimatum. Cohl returned for a second confrontation with Trump, and he said it quickly got out of hand. Trump brought along three brass-knuckled bodyguards, according to Cohl, and then went berserk.
SHOCKING! I know you won't believe this, but...Trump's "Pete Rose Endorsement Ball" is a FAKE.
:large
Trump's official Twitter account posted the photo of the signed ball, but Rose's attorney, Ray Genco, disputed any endorsement.
"Pete has made a point not to 'endorse' any particular presidential candidate," Ray Genco said in a statement to NBC News. "Though he respects everyone who works hard for our country any outlet that misinterpreted a signed baseball for an endorsement was wrong. Pete did not send any candidate a baseball or a note of endorsement."
Genco also told The Washington Post, "We do not know how Mr. Trump got the ball. I can't authenticate the ball from some Twitter picture." He added: "I can't speak to how Trump got the ball. Pete didn't send it. I made that clear."

"I don't think you can say that we don't get it automatically. I think you'd have riots."
Trump might fall short of the majority required, enabling the party's establishment to put forward another name at the July convention in Cleveland to formally pick its candidate.
In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Trump said the party could not deny him the nomination should he fail to win enough delegates.
"I don't think you can say that we don't get it automatically. I think you'd have riots. I think you'd have riots. I'm representing many, many millions of people."

"Yes, a Trump supporter actually heckled Rubio’s concession speech."
As the extent of Trumps landslide victory became clear soon after polls closed in most parts of the state at 7 p.m., some Rubio supporters seemed to be half-heartedly holding out hope for a miracle.
Peter Martinez, a campaign volunteer, gazed up at TV screens set to Fox News with a look of near disbelief.
"I cant understand why they would have those numbers," he said. "It might turn better."
Then, shortly after Rubio took the stage, a pro-Trump protester had to be escorted off the premises. Yes, a Trump supporter actually heckled Rubios concession speech. Thats just about the way this campaign has gone.

How the 'New York Times' Sandbagged Bernie Sanders
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/how-the-new-york-times-sandbagged-bernie-sanders-20160315
The New York Times ran a piece about Bernie Sanders Monday, a sort of left-handed compliment of a legislative profile. It was called "Bernie Sanders Scored Victories for Years Via Legislative Side Doors."
I took notice of the piece by Jessica Steinhauer because I wrote essentially the same article nearly 11 years ago. Mine, called "Four Amendments and a Funeral," was quite a bit longer. Sanders back then was anxious that people know how Congress worked, and also how it didn't work, so he invited me to tag along for weeks to follow the process of a series of amendments he tried (and mostly succeeded) to pass in the House.
I came to the same conclusions that Steinhauer did initially: that Sanders was uniquely skilled at the amendment process and also had a unique ability to reach across the aisle to make deals.
"Sanders is the amendment king of the current House of Representative. Since the Republicans took over Congress in 1995, no other lawmaker has passed more roll-call amendments (amendments that actually went to a vote on the floor) than Bernie Sanders. He accomplishes this on the one hand by being relentlessly active, and on the other by using his status as an Independent to form left-right coalitions."
Mysterious Ted Cruz Super PAC Donors Tied To Company Accused Of Stealing Seniors' Social Security
Source: Huffington Post
The CEO of Platinum Health Care -- a nursing-home chain that recently settled a lawsuit alleging it stole patients' Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Veterans Administration payments -- is closely linked to five mysterious companies that donated $250,000 to Stand For Truth, a super PAC supporting Ted Cruz.
The five limited liability companies, which own or operate assisted living facilities for seniors, each donated $50,000 to Stand for Truth on Dec. 21, 2015. That's the same day that Platinum Health Care -- which shares the same Skokie, Illinois, address as the five LLCs -- settled over allegations that CEO Ben Klein and his firms kept seniors' government checks after they moved out of Platinum facilities or died.
Klein and his co-defendants, the complaint charged, fabricated false and fraudulent charges and records," pocketing at least $1 million from Medicaid and an unspecified amount from Medicare. The defendants also allegedly kept $92,596.80 in VA benefits belonging to a Navy veteran who had died, rather than transferring the money to his estate or returning it to the government, as the law requires. The company stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of Social Security payments at just one of the 26 facilities it owned or operated, according to the complaint.
The federal court docket for the case does not contain any details of the settlement. Settlements don't generally include an admission of wrongdoing. Klein declined to comment on the case.
