The Onion: Defiant Mitch McConnell Holds Merrick Garland’s Severed Head Aloft In Front Of Capitol

http://www.theonion.com/article/defiant-mitch-mcconnell-holds-merrick-garlands-sev-52575

WASHINGTON—Declaring that the president had been warned about naming a justice during an election year, a defiant Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell reportedly held up the severed head of Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland this afternoon while standing in front of the Capitol building. “We vowed that no nominees would be considered,” said McConnell, his suit reportedly splattered with blood as he flung the centrist appeals court judge’s bespectacled head aside and kicked it down the Capitol steps. “There shall be no hearing. Do not attempt to silence the voice of the American people.” Sources also confirmed that McConnell later wrapped Garland’s severed right hand in his judicial robes and mailed the package to potential nominee Sri Srinivasan.

Brutal Anti-Cruz Attack Ad Just 30 Seconds Of Candidate’s Photo Displayed

http://www.theonion.com/video/brutal-anti-cruz-attack-ad-just-30-seconds-candida-52562

RALEIGH, NC—In what many political observers are calling a new low in an election season that has already seen its share of negative campaigning, a scathing anti–Ted Cruz attack ad airing this week reportedly shows nothing more than a still photograph of the Texas senator’s face for 30 seconds, unaccompanied by any text, voiceover, or music.

The pointed TV spot—which continues on in complete silence and does not pan across or zoom in on the candidate’s face, but merely holds steady on the image for half a minute before fading to black—is said to be running in several states with upcoming primaries and is paid for by a super PAC opposed to Cruz’s presidential bid.

“This is an extremely vicious jab at Ted Cruz, and one that succeeds in painting the candidate in a most unfavorable light,” said Douglas Reisenthaler, a senior analyst with Public Policy Polling, who described the ad as by far the most unrelenting and hostile attack to air since the 2016 election cycle began. “Inevitably, some voters will be turned off by the maliciousness of showing an unretouched headshot of Ted Cruz on television screens across America, but it has nonetheless proved very effective in turning public opinion against his candidacy.”

He added, “Everywhere this ad has aired, Cruz’s numbers have gone into complete free-fall.”

Trump's neck-grabber Corey Lewandowski: "overwhelming positive response" to "outreach"

Donald Trump will host a group of nearly two dozen influential Republicans on Monday afternoon for an off-the-record gathering that his allies hope will improve his relationship with the congressional GOP and the party's Washington establishment, according to two people who were invited.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.), the populist-right favorite who endorsed Trump last month, and Trump campaign counsel Donald F. McGahn organized the meeting along with Trump's advisers. The venue will be McGahn's law firm, Jones Day, which is a short walk from the Capitol.

When asked Saturday about the meeting, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski confirmed that the candidate would meet privately with Republicans ahead of his speech Monday to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's policy conference in Washington. He declined to provide a list of attendees.

"Mr. Trump is continuing his outreach to Washington and there has been an overwhelming positive response," Lewandowski said in a brief phone interview.

CONTEXT:

Donald Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski Appears To Grab Protester At Rally

Video taken at a Donald Trump rally in Tucson on Saturday appears to show the GOP front-runner’s campaign manager grabbing the collar of a protester, just 11 days after the Trump aide was accused of assaulting a reporter.

CBS News reporter Jacqueline Alemany identified the man as Corey Lewandowski in the video she posted from the rally in the Tucson Convention Center. The video shows the protester in a heated conversation with Lewandowski and another man wearing black, and then a hand grabs the young man by the collar, pulling him back.

The Trump campaign claimed that it was not Lewandowski, but rather a person to his left, who grabbed the unidentified man’s collar.

“The video clearly shows the protester reacting to the man who pulled him, not to Mr. Lewandowski,” a statement read. “Mr. Trump does not condone violence at his rallies,” campaign spokesperson Hope Hicks said.

BREAKING: Rubio now writing "I can't believe my eyes" titles for YouTube videos posted on Facebook

CNN Florida: Florida Senator and former candidate for the Republican Presidential nominee Marco Rubio has accepted a new position in Social Media. Rubio will now write all of the post titles you see on Facebook for cute animal videos and sad Grandpas.

"I did a bit of soul-searching after the Liberal media caused my campaign to collapse," a newly invigorated Rubio told CNN reporters. "And I really like those "I couldn't believe my eyes" and "You won't believe what happens next" and "When he did this...I'm speechless!" titles that show up on my Facebook page every day. So I thought to myself, "You know, I could do this! I really, really could do this!" So I'm doing it, and not looking back."

Rubio's first assignment was to write a post title for a cute YouTube video of a raccoon riding a skateboard into a burning warehouse and coming out the other end with a slightly charred, but still alive, squirrel. "I was so inspired by that video," he said. I immediately sat down in front of my Commodore 64 and came up with "Raccoon Rides Skateboard Into Burning Warehouse...and What Happens Next? I'M SPEECHLESS!" When I saw it on Facebook later that day, I knew I'd made the career decision that was right for me. It's MARCO TIME! Oh yeah!"

Rubio's next assignment was a little more challenging. A boy stood with his mom at the toilet, ready to give his pet goldfish a burial at sea, but not before saying his goodbyes. Rubio wrote "A Boy Stands With His Mom At The Toilet, Ready To Give His Pet Goldfish A Burial at Sea, But Not Before Saying His Goodbyes. What Happens Next? I Can't Stop Crying!"

Trump’s Wife & Daughter Tell Him To ‘Act Presidential,’ sons apparently still dicks. USA!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-wife-daughter-act-presidential_us_56edd87be4b084c6722075b4

Donald Trump said his wife Melania and daughter Ivanka have asked him to “act presidential,” but he is having trouble listening to them.

“My wife and my daughter Ivanka said to me, ‘Act presidential! Act presidential!’” Trump told supporters at a rally outside Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday. “Like in the last debate, I acted presidential, OK? I didn’t hit little Marco and I didn’t hit lyin, lyin, lyin Ted.”

“I didn’t wanna hit ‘em — I wanted to really impress my daughter and my wife,” he added.

Trump did indeed refrain from personal attacks against his rivals in the March 10 debate, though they also treated him with unusual civility.

ClickHole: 6 Major Initiatives Barack Obama Will Champion In The Final Months Of His Presidency

1. Sneak a couple “hot damns!” into the Pledge of Allegiance: He might have to call in a couple favors to make it happen, but it’ll undoubtedly be worth it.

2. Get the pilot to roll Air Force One:
He has been begging and begging for years now, but so far, to no avail. Expect a final all-or-nothing push from the president on this matter in his last 100 days.

3. Chop the head off the snake that keeps killing birds on the White House lawn: Obama’s tenure as president might be nearing its end, but that doesn’t mean he won’t do everything in his power to take a shovel to the snake that keeps leaving a feathery mess outside his door. Given his determination, the president should have it mounted on his wall well before he leaves office.
